Siakam is on an expiring contract right? Would it be risky on our behalf to let Wiggins go who’s on a team friendly contract for a guy who could easily walk at the end of the season? Also what are your thoughts on positions considering that Siakam is not such a good shooter and plays the 4 position mostly?

They didn’t get any 1sts for OG (did get two starters though, and Quickley is nice), gotta think they’ll be looking for some with Siakam. And I doubt they’re in much of a rush, can take this all the way up to the deadline.

What do the Warriors say if/when Masai demands Podz? Does them trading for Quickley make that less likely now? What if Masai said include Podz and you can keep your 1sts? Or just send one of 2026 or ‘28? May be worth it if Siakam came with an extension, using found money to go get an All-Star doesn’t seem like a bad deal, like how the Kings flipped Haliburton (…I am not saying Podz will turn into Hali). Would suck to see Podz go, but it does seem crazy to let his half season of play scare you off from adding someone like Pascal.
If the Raptors’ 1st conveys to the Spurs (top 6 protected), do they look to get a 1st for this year to recoup the pick? Even if the draft is seen as meh? Warriors can’t do that, Pacers definitely can (have two 1sts this year, along with all their own future picks). Think the Pacers would be dumb not to make that trade, but maybe Siakam’s contract scares them off. Would be kinda killer for him to walk after the season, at least with OG they had that Indiana connection.

Even the Hawks could put together a semi-competitive offer, which is crazy with all those 1sts they shelled out for Dejounte. Guess it’ll come down to if the Raptors want those picks sooner or later. Or if the Warriors put up Podz and one of Moody/JK, think that’s the only way they could potentially outbid teams.
Best thing for the Dubs would be Masai and the Raptors deciding to tank and keep their top 6 protected 1st this year, that could mean they prefer some picks in 2026 and beyond. But will Quickley + Scottie even let them tank? Those bottom teams are pretty well cemented, can’t see the Raptors getting down to the Pistons/Spurs/Wizards tier, so they’d need some serious lottery luck. May be for the best just to rip that bandaid off and get the pick to transfer to the Spurs, especially with how poorly regarded this draft is.

Mortgaging the future drafts for Lauri is a better move IMO, but if we could get siakam without any actual draft capital going out, that would be enormous

Who would we give them? People here have delusions we’re going to trade a pu pu platter of all the players we don’t want or are expendable to us for a player coming off an All-Star year, like Siakim. Wiggins is, statistically, one of the worst starters in the NBA and is going to make $100 million over the next 4 years, Kuminga has, honestly, not proven that much at this point in his career, and the draft picks are not high value since we’re trying to get rid of them.

Do people not realize that you need to give out as much salary as you return? I don’t understand how people don’t know that yet. He makes 38M. So 38M needs to be outgoing.
We’d need to gut the team unless the Raptors were interested in cp3.
Many seem intent of trading Wiggins. To hit 38M: wiggins, jk, moody and podz. (Unless anyone thinks loon or gp2 are desirable to the raptors).
