OG Anunoby was one of Scottie Barnes’ closest friends on the team, as was Precious Achiuwa. Tough day for him, living through his first major NBA trade. Barnes was asked to comment after the game but declined.

This explains that he was kinda lacking energy the first 3 quarters of the game. He just feels sad

I mean it’s his first NBA business experience, after 3 yrs almost. It’s gonna hurt but he’ll learn.
He said OG was his favorite guy to play with. 🙁

this is soft. had like 6 hours to mentally prepare for the game

OG was everybody’s best friend. Who will be there to throw water bottles at the pizza party? No one.

It’s a learning moment for Scottie…he and quickley will quickly become close friends lol

The amount of childishness from both the fans and the media (I listened to Will Lou’s postgame) shows a level of disconnect from the human side of things.
We want perfection from our sports, but a lot of these players are just learning to be adults.

Scottie can make new friends Quickley

Was kinda thinking that honestly, they all seemed sad 😢
Saying bye to OG, Precious, Malachi- on the road- hours before the game. People forget players are human beings.

Aw ❤️ I feel that. Players are human.

Scottie wears his heart on his sleeve. This gotta hurt 😢

This makes a lot of sense. It is the business, but learning how to get through these moments is part of Scottie’s growth.
Respect to Pascal pulling those first three quarters, knowing what Scottie is going through for the first time (when his buddy Jak was traded for Kawhi).

alright it hurts even more knowing that OG and Barnes were good friends, makes sense their goofy and aloof personalities vibe

Lowry was mad but was he was much older in his 30s. Scottie is a baby still. Heck I’m 33 and was incredibly sad to leave my job for a better one because of my awesome co workers. We are all human but the time is now for Scottie to grow up.
