They should be made to answer publicly. And we should know who the people at the replay desk are. Be transparent. The players and coaches have to answer questions on camera to a dozen media members, the refs should do the same.

  2. Thisisgoingtopainz

They can make the difference by betting.

  3. robocopsdick

Fans should be fined for being whiny bitches in their subs all the time. It sucks we lost like that but a good team wouldn’t even have been in that position.

Refs should be rated and have their ratings go up/down based on the accuracy of their calls after post-game reviews.

In the playoffs, and especially in the Finals, ref ratings should determine who gets to call the games (and how frequently).

These ratings should also affect salaries, promotions, etc.

Simply put, we need strong incentives to helpv refs make good calls.

Right now, they call based on pride and arbitrary nonsense.

The refs should’ve a post game conference to allow the media to ask them questions about the game and explain why they made certain calls.

  6. Please never use this man when referencing the lakers.

The call could honestly go either way. I’m more pissed that Vando missed that dunk which would have cut the lead to 2 but instead led to a wide open 3 which put the Wolves up by 7. Once that happened, the game was over.

What’s the charge on a reviewed call that still called bad?

  9. Spaghettibeach

I can forgive bad reffing if the refs can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they’re not involved in gambling. If it’s a skill issue, okay sure you need to ref more to get better, but if you’re missing calls or giving out weak calls to make your spread…I want them gone gone

Silver said they do actually get punished if I recall but they don’t make it public for some reason so take that as you may.

it was the right call tbh. there wasn’t clearcut evidence to overturn it and the call on the floor was plausible. it was incredibly close.

these really aren’t the sort of calls that should be criticized. at the end of the day, until we have technology to precisely determine this, humans are going to have to make judgement calls. in this case, it could have went both ways and unfortunately we just got unlucky with this one.

Every team should be able to pick a ref they never want to ref their games. Enough teams pick you, you’re out of a job.

  13. etburneraccount

Idk about fines. But I know one thing, any other job in American, if you fuck up this much, you’re fired.

Now I’m not exactly saying I want these fuckers to lose their livelihood, but I’m also not saying these fuckers deserve to make a living based on how shit they’re at their jobs.

Players should get fined for mising shots, and coaches should get fined for bad substitutions, and scoretable officials should get fined for shot issues (especially when they fix the clock after a review), and athletic trainers should get fined when there are injuries, and scouts should get fined when they pick a bust, and you should get fined when you turn in a bad assignment.

People make mistakes dude, get over it. There were some terrible decisions, but that is going to happen in literally every game. It sucks that the Lakers lost in part because of them.

And to the people asking for ref ratings; they already do that. That is how playoff games are assigned and if you’re rating isn’t high enough you get fired/sent to work in the G-League/receive more training. Its just that the rating is based on calls, relationship to players and coaches and control of game. And to the people asking for a post-game press conference; they do. Its called the pool report.

I can agree with the need for a ref rating system, or for them to have to publicly defend their call, but fines is a bit much. Imagine if players got fined for a missed open shot, or a coach for a bad rotation? Ham would be living off food stamps by now.

Y’all are calling Ham “Hamas” now using this racist dudes meme. Shameful people.
