[Davis] Max Christie is shooting 41% from three on Spot-Up Catch and Shoot Threes… | …one of the few players…that can play both sides of the floor when used appropriately | Stop using him in on-ball roles, utilize his shooting and timely cutting and you’ll get a guy that can contribute

    Yup, the simpler the better for Max. Don’t know his efficiency stats on his midrange but he seems to hit it regularly.

    Maybe some simple actions where AD hands it off to Christie curling and he gets that shot. But he’s best offball for now.

    Id rather have christie rather than reddish tbh. Reddish has more deflections but i think christie is a decent defender. If ham is insistent on needing defense in our starting unit then do christie prince/reaves vando lebron AD

    For reference Cam Reddish is shooting 31% on catch and shoot 3s

    Max needs 5-10 min a night minimum and take 3-5 shots. He can make passes and maybe bring up the ball once in a while.

  5. Christie needs to buy into this role. He seems to want to skip a step or two which is hindering his development.

    Ham could literally just pair everyone up into their most similar player pairs and never let 2 of them be on the court together outside of the last 4 minutes of the half or specific matchups and create endless permutations of valid lineups.

    * LBJ / Rui
    * AD / Wood
    * D’lo / AR
    * Vando / Reddish
    * Prince / Christie

    Just make 2 subs every 2-3 minutes starting at the 6 minute mark with LBJ and Vando sitting for Rui and Reddish and from there you’re off to the races.

    “Stop using him in on ball roles” fucking thank god someone else says it. Christie was being used in waaay to much on ball action which of course he didn’t preform well and his minutes went way down. He’s a legit 3&D guy and should see more time

    Sean Davis is such a Christie stan

    I can’t take too much of what Sean Davis says as truth because he’s been wrong on too many players. When Max Christie was getting minutes against good guards he was getting cooked. Go back and look how Maxie an SGA cooked him. At least Cam can offer those guys some resistance.

    It’s funny to me that reddish is getting 25+ min a night yet christie doesn’t even play unless there’s someone injured. Imo Christie isn’t worse than reddish at all, I actually think he’s better. A bit worse defender, but better shooter, which is a good trade off. Christie should be getting 15 minutes minimum every game and cam should get less than 20.

    Also play wood alongside AD more. He’s been shooting well these past few games and gives us more rebounding. He’s not good as a 5, but alongside an anchor like AD he could be really solid.

    And lastly Rui needs to get 25+ min consistently and get more minutes than vando. Rui is absolutely elite on offense and he’s pretty good at defending bigger guys. Vando is a really good defender but him being complete useless on offense kills our team’s momentum.

    It takes a coach who knows what he’s doing to utilize his players and draw plays that incorporate their abilities to the fullest, which we certainly don’t have. We only have a bot that lacks any on-game adjustments ability, resulting in the loss of most close games.

    Watch Max leave to another team and inevitably become a key part of their rotation because he is objectively a good young role player

    Max’s only real faults are he makes young player mistakes…which can get fleshed out if he, ya know, gets more PT

  13. HealthyAd9369

    Google says 32% on 3 pt shots. If that’s correct, picking one particular type of 3 pointer to make your point is just dumb.

    this team has talent. The issue is Ham and always has been.
