“LAKEWOOD • Jamal Murray lived up to Friday’s sweatshirt on Saturday.

Walking into Ball Arena for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City, the Nuggets star guard wore a “Be A Good Person” sweatshirt. A day after Denver’s disappointing 119-93 loss to the Thunder, Murray was back in the gym, but he wasn’t working on his game. Murray spent Saturday, a day off for the Nuggets, surrounded by hundreds of kids and their families throughout two sessions of his youth basketball camp at the Gold Crown Foundation Fieldhouse in Lakewood.

“We were here early in the morning with, I think, 380 kids,” Murray told The Denver Gazette during the afternoon session that featured roughly 260 more young hoopers.

Boys and girls were separated into age groups ranging from kindergarten through high school. Drills ranged from ball-handling and shooting to defense and rebounding and included some life lessons from Murray and Chris Dubek, the chief operating officer of FlexWork, the organization that put on the camp.”
