Acquiring the services of Pascal cakam now we already seen the Raptors make a move as they move OG an anobi to the New York Knicks in exchange for Emanuel quickley in RJ Barrett and it seems like Massi jury is finally ready to blow it up in Toronto to build around young

Talent and Phenom Scotty Barnes and if that is the case the 29-year-old from Lewisville I’m talking about Pascal cakam may become available before the early February trade deadline and for the Mavericks a name that would make a lot of sense not just given the local

DFW ties that se yakum has but what he can provide is another Wing scorer for this team who we know has a lot of different skill sets on the offens in this is a player so far this year that’s averaging nearly 22 points per game shooting over 51% from the field well

You say Kevin he also is shooting 26% from three right now which is down from his career 32% throughout the course of his career but at the same time he provides you with the kind of scoring threat to go alongside Luca dones and Kyrie Irving that makes a lot of sense

Well you say Kevin what would you have to try and give up to possibly get Pascal SE yakum I’ll get to that here in just a moment but when you look at the fit of what SE yakum could bring alongside Kyrie Irving and Luca donic you have an all World player in dones

Who’s a three-level scorer and can get any shot at any point anywhere on the floor that he wants to Kyrie Irving is a spectacular shot maker who can close games in the fourth quarter and can take scoring loads off of Luca dones to provide you a another capable guy of

Getting the ball to the basket and creating for himself and for his teammates and for se yakum he provides length he provides athleticism and a guy that can get to his spots on the floor where he wants to as well that provides a different dimension than what the

Mavericks currently have in terms of a lengthy Wing score that yes on the defensive end maybe a little bit of a liability but at the same time you’ve got guys like Derek Jones Jr and also Dante aom who have been really good so far for you defensively so you have some

Capabilities and flexibility in terms of your lineup especially if you keep Grant Williams keeping him on the bench and coming off of that second unit to be able to provide some scoring and some defense as hopefully he gained some consistency the lack of which we have

Seen so far during his tenure in Dallas he got off to a nice start in the first seven eight games of the season but as since tailed off had a decent bounceback game against the Golden State Warriors in limited minutes but you’ve got to get more out of Grant Williams if this is

Going to work so there are things from Pascal SE yakum standpoint that do make a lot of sense now you say Kevin Pascal SE yakum would be a few month rental because he is an unrestrictive free agent at the end of this season and his salary right now is nearly $38 million

And if you trade him and trade significant pieces for him there’s no guarantee that seaka would be back in Dallas in 2024 and beyond that is the risk that the New York Knicks took when trading for oan noi who’s also going to be free agent at the end of the summer

But I feel like if you’re going to make this trade if you’re the Dallas Mavericks you do it with confidence that you’re going to resign SE yakum this upcoming summer much like how they did with Kyrie Irving in the amount of capital and assets that they gave up to

Bring Kai to Dallas they remember gave up Dorian finy Smith Spencer Den witty in a future first round pick an unprotected first round pick a few years from now so you understand that the Mavericks if they’re going to make a move like this you don’t make this move

Unless you feel like SE yakum who again is 29 years old and would fit the timeline based on what the Mavericks are trying to do with Kyrie Irving and Luca donic and the emergence obviously of Derek Lively II as your Center to provide you a win now player that would

Help you keep you in the top six of the West because a big three of donic Irving and seum is a top six team in the western conf conference especially with Derek Lively II and also with Dante X and Derek Jones and it also helps you as

You start to think about and put it together provide you some flexibility with your rotations as well I would imagine a lineup that would feature Luca donic Kyrie Irving interchange Derek Jones Jr or Dante exom in this case I would probably keep Dante exom in the lineup the way that he’s been playing

Alongside Pascal cakam and Derek Lively you’ve got yourself a pretty good lineup there with length size athleticism and scoring that you can use and with Derk Jones Jr the way that he’s played so far he doesn’t seem like a guy that has the kind of ego that would be bruised if he

Had to be coming off the bench so again that provides you some death especially as we now move toward it if you have to move off of someone like Tim hardyway Jr or Josh Green ran Holmes I imagine would be included in a deal like this because

He’s owed $112 million and has a player option going into 2024 and that then becomes the question what are you willing to give up to go get SE yakum now I threw out a trade scenario on Twitter at Kevin greay Sports which included Tim Hardway Jr ran

Holmes and Josh green in a 2027 first round pick that would be moved to Toronto in exchange for Pascal SE yakum a rough framework if you will just to give you an idea of what it would take because Tim hardyway Jr as someone pointed out to me they wouldn’t want to

Move on from but let me let you in on a little secret Tim hardyway Jr is the best trade asset that you have right now the best veteran trade asset that you have so any deal that you want to try and get a player worth his salt hello

Pascal cakam you’re going to have to move off Tim Hardway Jr in that kind of a deal now maybe you can find a third team to get involved with Toronto and Dallas to maybe make a little bit easier to be able to move some pieces around that’s where things start to get

Complicated obviously when you’re trying to think of who that third team could be but let’s just stick with it when it turns to the Mavericks and the Raptor straight up I wouldn’t mind moving off of Tim Hardway Jr and emerging Josh Green whom once he is starting to

Continue to remain healthy after coming back from that sprained elbow you saw what he did against the Golden State Warriors scoring 18 points attacking the rimit transition knocking down three-pointers and a urging three and D type of player that is Coveted in today’s NBA and with more consistency

Green could find himself alongside a guy like Scotty Barnes and Emanuel quickley and RJ Barrett figuring out some things from a defensive and an offensive standpoint if you’re Toronto if you’re looking for that kind of upside maybe instead of Josh Green you would want to send a Jaden Hardy who has shown a

Propensity to be a scorer who doesn’t mind taking shots and isn’t afraid of any shot on the floor that could be another possib if you’re looking to move young talent but all in all it would take a veteran to be able to be move and there are some individuals in the mfls

Who feel like Grant Williams might need to be that guy as he’s owed 12.4 million over the next few seasons as a member of the Dallas Mavericks which is interesting because the consistency that we haven’t seen from Grant Williams Lyn said some Mavs fans to feel like they

Don’t want to keep Grant Williams around any further and I can stand the sentiment trust me I’ve been watching this team covering this team and feel like Grant Williams in times hasn’t necessarily been in the best shape but more importantly has been a guy that has shown complete inconsistency so far this

Season for the Mavericks but as a depth piece coming off the bench who can provide you when he’s at his best a guy that can knock down three-pointers can guard multiple positions on the floor if some pressure is taken off of him by allowing him to come off the bench maybe

You can get the best out of Grant Williams moving forward for the rest of the year again granted you decide to keep him if you don’t move him in a trade where he is trade eligible at this point but for the Mavericks there are a lot of different ways that you could try

To get this done whether it be trying to do it straight up with Toronto or figuring out a way to get a third team involved to get this done but all in all I would want the Mavs to make this kind of move you assure yourself being a top

Six team in the Western Conference maybe the ceiling of a top four team which allows you to have homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs but more importantly it sends yet another message to your superstar that you’re trying to do everything that you can to

Keep him happy and continue to win moving forward especially after the tank job that you did at the end of last season to get in position to even try to make a run going this year and Beyond and oh by the way there’s a new ownership group who won’t mind spending

The money as long as Mark cubin is true to his word about what he believes this family will do in terms of the Adon in terms of spending money and if that is the case that should be no object for this team and be willing to go into the luxury

Tax that remains to be seen based off of what the Mavericks front office Nico Harrison and this group do to try and make Luca Don’s team better around him but if that is the case and money is No Object and they are truly ready ready to

Spend money then maybe a deal like seak makes sense again I understand the concern of having seak for a few months into him walking a free agency but I would take my chances if I were the Mavericks to be able to convince him to be able to stick around because here’s

The thing you’re playing with one of the five best players literally over the last four years in Luca dones who’s been a first team all NBA selection each of the last four years you don’t think SE yakum having a chance to play with Luca donic and K Irving for a few months

Wouldn’t be enticed to stick around after the season is over with given I’m sure the kind of high level success that he will have all he has to do is look at Dante exom and Derrik Jones Jr to see the kind of career years that they’re having playing alongside Luca donic

Pascal siakam’s game would go to another level and his abilities would be very much needed and compliment Luca dones and Kyrie Irving’s game very well in Dallas so for seaka it makes a lot lot of sense you go to a team that has a chance to make the top four of the West

Assuredly a top six team for sure with Luca and Kyrie you’re able to come home and play in the DFW area once again which you’re obviously extremely familiar with but more importantly you give yourself a chance to play on a high level team that has a chance to make a

Move because of you and you can cash out whether it be with the Mavericks for a team that appears will be willing to spend money again if Mark cubin is correct or you’ll be able to cash out a free agency and go somewhere else I tend

To think that he would like to play for the Mavericks and what that means for his career especially at age 29 and being able to be with the solid Contender again with one of the five best players in the NBA and if that is the case SE yakum could really find

Himself being successful here the question is will the Mavericks make the kind of bold move to bring the kind of package together that would entice Toronto to make a move for him now Toronto could look at what Indiana brings what Atlanta brings as they have guys like de jonte Murray who might be

On the Move who they may find more coveted and more enticing especially the way that Deonte Murray could fit in Toronto obviously the assets that the Indiana Pacers have with a lot of young Talent there they could make a move that could really help themselves and they

Have been a team that’s been linked to cakam for quite some time now but if the Mavericks are serious about making this legitimate as far as their Western Conference chances are concerned scared money don’t make money and seum would give them a highlevel ceiling that gives them three legitimate scores that could

Help them do some damage in the Western Conference I like the move and more importantly I’d make the move if I were the Mavericks seak brings a lot to the table and the Mavericks could use his type of vers ility especially on the offensive end to really make things

Difficult the Mavericks are still a top 10 Pace team in the league they’ve embrace the style of getting up and down the floor they can play any style that they want to because they have Luca dones who is a maestro and controls what happens on the offense so if they want

To play a halfcourt game they can do it they want to get up and down in transition they can do that if they want to play Advantage Basketball they can do that with teams who would be willing to try and double donic and that would be

My final point on this if you bring a guy like seak to the Mavericks the advantages for you go that much more exponentially upward because with Kyrie Irving and Pascal SE yakum on the floor you’ve got a lot of damage that can be done and teams will have to decide how

They get beat are you going to allow Kyrie Irving are you going to allow a versatile SE yakum to beat you oh that’s right with Luca donic running all of this I want to have a team that has as many options itions and can beat you in

As many ways possible seak would add that for the Dallas Mavericks and it’s a move to me that makes a lot of sense especially if he gets to play with Luca donic and Kyrie Irving find the Mavericks time to make a move and see what Toronto would be

Willing to do but again put together a package that’s serious about your chances of getting him and we’ll see what Toronto and Massi Jury has to say about it and I’m sure if seum says hey get me home to Dallas I’m sure the Raptors I think

Would want to make that happen for him but hey they’re going to do what they want to do to make sure they get the best offer but I’m sure if they have allow SE yakum to have some say in it they’ll listen ultimately they’ll make the best decision that’s best for them
