I get where the doctor is coming from, but then you have a situation like the Dolphins yesterday where they kept Chubb in what was basically already a won game, and the dude tore his ACL. We don’t want anything like that to happen to Wemby by making him play meaningless games.

In the Spurs case, they are tanking this season and the easiest way to accumulate losses is by not playing your best players. The ankle injury is just a perfectly valid excuse for the Spurs to not play Wemby without the NBA punishing them for sitting out starters, with the added bonus of testing Wemby’s health by studying how his body recovers from injuries and limiting his exposure to injuries this early in his career.

What I’m sure might trigger some fans is that Kawhi was mentioned and we don’t want to scare off Wemby by being overly cautious with his health, but Kawhi was just trying to find a reason to snake his way to LA. Wemby doesn’t seem like the type of guy to do that. I think he’ll at least sign one big contract extension with the Spurs, and if things don’t go well here, then he might move on chase for a ring with another team. Big if tho.

Doctor is going overboard speculating about treatment he has no first hand knowledge of

Just cause they’re scheduling a second MRI doesn’t mean they aren’t primarily concerned w checking it for swelling, mobility, strength, etc and proceeding from there

Calling the Spurs all caps PARANOID for cutting his mins from 30 to 25 for a few games feels very clickbait-y

I ain’t click the link but I think so far the spurs have done a great job with him and his minutes so far. He gets basically 1 large stretch per quarter and then if we really wanted to he ends games but you know where tanking so that won’t happen till we wanna win. But no complaints about taking it slow especially when everyone said he would be injury prone and he hasn’t been at all. He take his health as seriously as anyone and he’s for sure a lot tougher then really anyone was giving him credit towards. Last night at half he was at half court getting stretched and keeping that body active. Really impressive for a 19 yr old.

  4. I mean he is a doctor but not sure if he’s had 74 patient
