> Two days after coach Steve Kerr hinted at a disconnect of some sort with his team, Golden State returned to practice to prep for Tuesday’s home game against a very tough Orlando Magic team that currently sits in fifth place in the East.
>While the coach didn’t point fingers at anyone in particular, his words left many people wondering who, if anyone, he was referring to or if he was just talking out of frustration.
>Kerr said Monday that he had shared those feelings with his players but declined to go into specifics about what was said.
>“Not anything I want to share,” Kerr said. “But we address everything that happens within this team. I have to pick my times to say certain things, to not say certain things. I felt like it was a good time to say that publicly because we have to turn the corner in that regard.

> What I’ve learned as a coach is every year is different. Every year you get hit with surprises,
That was not your tone back in November when you declared last season was “an aberration”. You gotta stop mollycoddling your vets Steve.
Must be jk playing that selfish basketball
Klay & JK better be getting the message.
Take that moody, JK, podz and TJD! Accept your role and limited opportunity with a smile on your face! /s
Where’s the disconnect?

Maybe Kerr wasn’t spouting nonsense about grit and players under pressure.

Is he talking about Moody??
He’s been out of the lineup for a few games now!!
Warriors basketball is not Warriors basketball without any drama involved. Usually, we only have to deal with Draymond’s stupidity. This year, multiple players are acting like fools 🥲
Disconnect is between Klank. If it wasn’t obvious already.
Kerr to give DNP to moody and JK and play klank 40 minutes.
He was talking about klay and jk, but was probably staring at moody and wiggins to not hurt the feelings of klay and jk.
Yes run a 3 guard lineup and blame the lack of grit and defense within the team.
People act like these issues don’t happen to other teams. Players have egos and desires and their own personal challenges and stories, it’s just human nature. I’m pretty sure even during our championship years there were tensions and drama as well. But at the end of the day, those who win put their desires/contract issues/egos aside and just focus on playing the best basketball they can to win for the team. That includes making the necessary sacrifices. When KD came, Steph sacrificed his shots, when Andre came, he agreed to move to the bench, David Lee accepted coming off the bench for draymond green. These moves were not without tensions. But look where it led us, 4 rings in 8 years.
I’m glad Kerr is addressing these issues instead of sweeping it under the rug. Some of his lineup decisions may be questionable, but this man is made for managing player egos and the intangibles of the team. This proves to me that Kerr is deserving of HOF status.
Some other notable parts in the article:
> “We are not where we want to be. But I also don’t think we’re that far from being so.”
>
>Most everyone is in agreement that the majority of the Warriors’ breakdowns have been on the defensive side, even if Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each have had their issues with consistency on the offensive end, as have others.
> Frustrated, Kerr opened up after the Dallas game and implored the Warriors to connect and be committed to the quest and task at hand.
>
>On Monday, the Warriors coach seemed less stressed than he’d been nearly 48 hours previously.
>
>“I know the areas we have to improve in, both on the floor and intangibly,” Kerr said. “And I have a lot of confidence that we can figure it out together and become the team that we expected coming into the year.
>
>“There have been a lot of circumstances that have led us to this point. They are what they are. What I’ve learned as a coach is every year is different. Every year you get hit with surprises, whether it’s an injury or suspension. Stuff just happens. The whole point of coaching is to help guide the group through that, and that’s what my staff and I are trying to for now.”
>
>Following the loss to Dallas, Paul and Curry were among the players who talked about some of the issues facing the Warriors in that game and overall this season. Both spoke of the team needing to stay connected, and both seemed confident that things eventually will turn around.
>
>Payton echoed some of the thoughts his teammates have.
>
>“We have to get back to winning ways, doing things the right way, doing the simple things before it’s too late,” Payton said. “We have to pick and choose when we want to come back with the connectivity and get back to doing things for each other, get back to playing for one another and get back to having our trust on both sides of the ball.”
It’s too much drama with this season man. Look at Denver they don’t got anything going on dawg lmao.
Yeah, giving Moody a DNP and letting Klank shoot 1-11 isn’t gonna help us win.
I feel like Kerr and his inability to move off aging former stars is bringing the team down. The league has moved away from small ball, but here we are…..
My read is that this obviously has to be one of the big time vets that Kerr is talking about. If it was someone like Moody or even JK, he could shut them down much easier and/or say…there is the bench go ride it.
Kinda points again to why Bob Myers jumped ship before the season. The made men on this team just have too much history with each other and that history often trumps any sort of current reality it seems more and more.
