I preferred Dejounte Murray’s defense, size, and playmaking ability from the jump. Perfect fit. I hope Rose does whatever it takes. Remember: picks are not promises.
Totally understandable, especially if CLE is not ready to talk. Wait and see, worst case next year in FA we make a move
I think we can live without him….for now

I’ve never understood why everything things the Cavs are selling. Like it makes sense with the Hawks and Murray, since they’ve been awful. But the Cavs have been pretty good, even with Garland out.

Can’t focus on one person. I know fans want that “Spida returns home” story, but that alignment might be a distant dream. It takes two to make a deal, Cleveland gave up a lot of assets for Donovan, they won’t give up on him easily. In the meantime, if a player the FO targets becomes reasonably available then that move should also be explored.

Between a bunch of you guys who keep bringing up Dejounte Murray and that one guy asking why is everyone obsessed over Murray, I am really confused where you guys are getting the idea that Murray is available for trade and that he’s in the same tier as Donovan Mitchell.
Then again so many people were thirsting over guys like Zach Lavine so I’m not surprised. Funny enough as soon as Lavine’s number dropped 20 games in nobody talks about him anymore.

I think the Cavs don’t talk until the summer anyway and I don’t see the fit with Murray given his inconsistent shooting. I would much rather prefer they trade Fournier for a scoring guard that can shoot like Rozier to fill IQ’s role and then just see what happens down the line.

Sounds like bluffing and disinformation from both teams.

I don’t understand the hype for Dejounte Murray. His pairing with Trae has been a complete failure so far. He’s not moving the needle at all, we are not close to contending with Dejounte but would have to blow a ton of our assets to get him
His defense is overrated for years, he mainly goes for steals but most hawks fans I’ve seen say he’s bad/lazy on ball and off ball sometimes too. He reads passing lanes well and makes plays, but he’s not a legit shutdown defender like OG from all that I’ve read and seen
Plus his offense is bad. Career 34.3% 3pt shooter, yes he’s shooting well this year from 3 but it’s a volatile stat and he’s usually been bad from there. .540 and .559 TS% past 2 years, marginally better than RJ’s .538 this year. I’d much rather have a guy like Grimes or Donte offball who can snipe 3s than someone who’s gonna take the ball out of Brunson/Randle’s hands for mediocre offense
He’s simply not in the same tier as guys like Mitchell/KAT or whoever else we’re being rumored to, I’m not saying those guys are perfect fits either but they bring us much closer to a championship than he does. If we trade 3 firsts for Dejounte which is probably what it would take, would we even have enough assets to trade for a star? Cuz otherwise we’re still probably a 2nd round team and don’t have a chance against Boston/Milwaukee in a 7 game series, same as we are now basically

And that’s smart. I don’t know if Dejounte Murray is still a good defender. Hawks fans seem to be out on him in that regard, same time though…it’s not like the Hawks are much of a good defensive team in general. Maybe all he needs is to play for another coach who is strict about playing defense again? At 6’5 with a 6’10 wingspan, he definitely has the tools to be a solid defensive addition to the starting unit.
The idea of a Dejounte Murray who is playing good defense again makes up for whatever he’s lacking in offensively when it comes to finishing and TS%. Feel like with guys like Randle, Brunson, and now OG that won’t matter too much. I just really wanna know if it’s actually all on Murray that he’s regressed since getting traded to the Hawks, or is it just that the Hawks are ass and can’t get right?
