Masai Ujiri “Playing in Tampa set us back couple years”

Randomly thinking about this Masai quote. No excuses for losing almost everyone from the championship team for nothing, however gms probably don’t want to trade with this dude. He wins every trade, we have Scottie…. let Masai cook

Disagree, playing in Tampa got us Scottie

No tf it didn’t. Tampa got them a star in Scottie. The moves after like Thad Young trade is what set them back. If it wasn’t for Tampa we would have the same core except we’d have Davion Mitchell instead of Scottie Barnes

0 accountability from this fraud. FIRE MASAI.

  4. Just for most of y’all I know aren’t reading the article or OP’s commentary — this article is from 2021. This is not Masai making excuses about why we are where we are today

No the roster construction is what set you back a few years. Most teams that lose there only superstar rebuild.

    “He wins every trade”

Jakob would like to have a word.

Yes and no. Yes maybe considering financials, potential success at home and development from players. Though also we got Scottie from it, whos success has sped us up a bit. Plus who knows, we presumably have a better record without Tampa but how much better? Might we just be a mid team still but without Scottie? I can see both sides but I don’t think Tampa set us back, what I’m upset about is the bubble messing with our and Pascal’s success because I could have legit seen us repeating without the bubble.

  8. Too bad winning “every trade” isn’t translating to the win column since the bubble season eh?

Playing in Tampa gave Masai his only lifeline
