Idk, I personally do think Shaq deserves this jersey retirement even if he did leave us too early. Hopefully this has him support our team more in *some* capacity. Idt T-Mac is doing much for the Magic in whatever role we hired him a while ago, if he’s still in the role

I seriously am contemplating in flying in for that game cause I can get airfare for 140 round trip. Plus tickets are still cheap for that game as of now.

I don’t really think he deserves it tbh. I like having him in the team hall of fame. I feel like if you retire him you gotta retire Penny, Nick, 3D, Dwight, TMac ,Vooch etc and I think that is definitely too much

This is a momentous occasion for the franchise. Shaq was not in Orlando long but he’s an nba great and led our team to its first finals appearance. I’m good with hanging #32 from the rafters.
W and if this timeline was today with this mastermind GM I don’t think welt would’ve let Shaq go I could be wrong but I trust welt like that

I still think Nick Anderson’s #25 and a combined #1 Penny/T-Mac should get their numbers retired.
Nick Anderson gets shit for the FT’s in the finals but he’s also responsible for the greatest play in franchise history which helped lead to that finals run, the Jordan steal. He was also our franchise’s first draft pick, played the most games for our franchise, has the most steals, 2nd most amount of points, and is top 10 in virtually every statistical category. And he’s been loyal, still associated with the franchise. Loyalty should be rewarded.
T-Mac and Penny are top 5 franchise players at their peak and even though they both had short runs here, the combined accolades are enough to retire #1 and honor them both. Shaq having his number retired pretty much confirms Penny’s will also have his retired at a certain point and you can’t honor Penny’s #1 without also including T-Mac’s #1. Zero idea how a franchise normally treats two players worthy of jersey retirement with the same number.
I’d imagine this also confirms Dwight Howard will also have his number retired, given enough time.
