Ime Udoka felt loss to Timberwolves was “our worst game of the year”
There did the difficulty getting shots to fall affect the other end I don’t really know if it was our lack of scoring or quality shots I think they bullied us and may not have anything to do with our offense but um you know I thought it was our poorest
Game from a standpoint of matching physicality and uh competitiveness and toughness tonight so uh not sure that had anything to do with offensively for us it was us not taking the challenge on that end it seemed like every time that you guys would get know within eight or nine
Points they would go on a run again what do you think the biggest reason for that was I mean offensive rebounds was a big part it felt like U you know got or just mistakes in general that you know led to a Blow by layup or kick out three and so
It was like I said from a just a standpoint of alertness I felt like we were sleepwalking early in the game you know you look at the first few plays uh Jabari lays on a flare screen that they call and for about 5 Seconds they still passing towns gets a three and then
Alprin doesn’t box out go be put back dunk and so um just the first few plays it was not a toughness there for us and so every time every time we got back close enough I think it was seven in the third quarter and um they go on a 70 run
It was turnovers was another thing for us obviously hurt us um but um just not good enough it felt like our worst game of the year in a lot of aspects you had the nine turnovers in the second quarter of the night and the turnovers tonight a
Lot of L ball turn the offense Trend there or is this kind of a bad stretch all handline just not matching physicality you’re playing strong with the ball they’re obviously a good defensive team and um you know we collaps the pocket just not being tough enough with the ball and those led to
Those turnovers I think they had 14 points and 11 those fast break points in the first half and we you know they scored 56 or whatever it was and they weren’t scorching offensively but we weren’t scoring as well so um all those things aided them in that area and um
When you’re not scoring at a high enough level obviously you don’t want to give those back on that end how did they take Ali out of the game I think you know obviously goar is a good defender in the post so the post UPS weren’t there as much but we moved
Around got him in the pocket um he didn’t shoot shoot it particularly well from the mid-range tonight but he got some things in the pocket and then you know had a decent first half I think overall but um yeah just had a good defender on him and didn’t win that
Match up tonight quick Turner R you guys tomorrow um Milwaukee another pretty big front Court team is there anything you could take away from this game to kind of you know prove you guys performance for tomorrow yeah I mean they big sizewise they’re not obviously not the defensive team that Minnesota is they
Haven’t been this year anyway and so um you know we didn’t have a problem scoring there last time I think we got 119 and so um yeah just it’s good to bounce back and have a game tomorrow when you play this poorly so um just want to see us come with the proper
Effort and mindset that we have all year and didn’t with didn’t play with tonight Fred went back to the table to check in and then he went back was that just the score yeah I was I was going to shut it down in another minute or so anyway and
Um when he got hurt he was okay to go back in and told the trainer that but I didn’t see him go up so called him back yeah just about anothere that they would been in anyway he didn’t do it he didn’t do a wmy
Ime Udoka talks to reporters after the Houston Rockets lost at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves on 1/5/2024. Jalen Green scored 20 points to lead the Rockets while Alperen Sengun (19 points) had his 20+ point game streak snapped. Jabari Smith Jr. added 16 points and 9 rebounds.

Shooting was terrible, physicality wise nobody was helping Alpi out. They left him struggle with Towns and Gobare . Jabari has to build up some muscle and weight and start playing tougher
Rockets is still young, they will eventually get more sizes.
It's 2024 now.its not yet done, maybe some worst game will come.hope its not.
Rockets can defeat Timberwolves but not with this performance. There was a starting chemistry loss without Brooks i can say. Also Sengun left lonely. Vanvleet should train more on shooting. Green should learn stop shooting when he is cold. Huge potential in team. I dont know if Olajuwan watches game in arena but if he is not, he should sit just next to Udoka.
Ime should also consider the kind of defensive schemes the magic and okc uses and implement it sometimes. Okc & the magic are not as physical as the Rockets but their defensive schemes allows them shot teams down & win games.
some people notice it now, questioning your plan on jaleen green, it's shows you don't like to become a SuperStar. You know he could do more points? But why?? Maybe the Former NBA all Star was right, The New York Knicks may build a SuperStar when they have jaleen green.
and i was thereπ’
They need Eason
Missing physicality yes, but the team has only Sengun that can match a sized center, Minnesota has 3 player that can defend alpi in term of size, and after Sengun you have Jabari and uncle Jeff only to play with. You have 5 players that does 0 contribution to team. Landale has a 9m contract, he dont even play 30 sec. Minnesota has for example Jordan Maclaughlin, they pay 2.3m per year and yesterday he played 13 minutes, 3 points, 3 ribaunds, 3 assists with %100 shot attempt +19 eff. Houston had a sloppy team build up, you cant expect drafting one superstar each year and wait them grow and create a well balanced team. You need an urgent trade in this team. And you dont have time for Jalen Green as well, he thinks he is or will be a superstar but he's nowhere close to it mentally. Also Fred dont have the marge to shoot that bad, he earns 40 mil in this team. He cant play with %22.2 shooting. He is not a pg that can create its own shoot, so when your team create you wide open shots, you just cant miss more than 2 or 3 each game. Players in his calibre, even better sized earn just 15-20 mil in other teams…
That child support reduced ime to only 6 grand a month…went from 38,000 to 6 grand? They wasn't lying when they said it's cheaper to keep her, ooh wee
