The Thunder took down the Nuggets 119-93 in a dominant win for the young squad, ending the Nuggets six game winning streak in the process. Oklahoma City has shown growth in every matchup with Denver, going from an embarrassing 33 point loss in the first matchup, to a one point victory in the next, and now to a 26 points blowout victory. They moved to 21 and 9 with the victory, and are now the second seed in a very loaded western conference. The massive improvement from a tenth seed last year to second this year is unbelievable, and they are way ahead of schedule. Despite being the second youngest team in the league with an average age of just 23.8 heading into the season, they are legitimate contenders, and have proved that with their 2 wins against the Nuggets. In the span of just the last four days, they blew out the Timberwolves, made light work of the Knicks on the second half of a back-to-back, and then blew out the Nuggets on friday. Despite being met with a gauntlet, they rose to the challenge and performed even better than you could have expected. They might be the best team in the entire western conference, and could make a run at the finals as early as this season. But it’s not just one thing that has taken them from 10th place to second. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has taken another step from his all-nba season last year. Over the last ten games, he has averaged 34.1 points, 6.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting a wildly efficient 55% from the field. He’s seriously in the race for MVP through the first third of the NBA season. Rookie big man Chet Holmgren has also been even better than was expected. He’s averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, and nearly three blocks per game while shooting a crazy 54% from the field and 39% from three, it’s ridiculous. He should win rookie of the year, and has a real case as an all-star in the West. Jalen Williams has also been even better than his rookie season, averaging 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game on 52% from the field and 42% from three. The stars on this team shouldn’t be able to all be this efficient, it doesn’t even really make sense. 7 of the team’s top 9 scorers shoot 39% from three or better. I don’t even know what to say to that.

Think about subbing, I’m on the road to 12k!!!

  1. I’m not saying I think it’s gonna happen, but I’m just curious; has there ever been a team that went from missing the playoffs, and then wining it the next?

  2. Best time to be an OKC fan. Cant eait to see what Presti does with all the picks at our disposal. Thunder up baby ⛈️

  3. Thanks. Now look for Josh to start to turn it up. Another missing observation by viewers is the increased physical play of JWill, KRich and even Micic. Lurking in the wings will be a sudden improvement of Ousmane and the influence of Chip their shooting coach.

  4. Boricua Hispanic indian n black IAM. Puerto Rican. Shai playing like MVP n chet is the MVP rookie of the year OKC is the favorite team of the year.

  5. Chet Holmgren plays like a savy vet in his rookie season. That's why they are ahead of schedule

  6. This OKC team is scary good,OKC has more players shooting 3s better then GS when they went on their tear..that's insane..despite what experts say the way this current roster is and the way they're playing OKC doesn't need to do any trades, they're jelling as a team and no reason 2 bring in someone else that could mess it up..i say go the full season and see what this current roster is made of and if at the end they need another piece then address it before the start of next season..and fyi it took GS a additional 3 years after acquiring their pieces to win a title so in essence OKC is 3 years ahead of where GS was…

  7. Let's keep in mind Denver was without Gordon in that loss but even then it's still a great win on the road against the defending champion. The addition of Holmgren has completely changed everything because he's a rim protector which they desperately needed and is also better offensively than they even thought he could be. Also, Jalen has improved exponentially and is playing at a borderline all star level. The trio of Jalen, Holmgren and SGA is as good as anybody in the NBA.

  8. The biggest factor in thier success is that they all want to win and none of them care if they play big or small or even no minutes
They are in it together and it shows. No one on the team is disappointed if they don't play they sit on the bench and cheer and are in it the whole way.
From what I can see every other team has salty players

    Prime example is Isaiah Joe
From my pov he is a starter on alot of teams and can be easily scoring 25 plus a game
But instead he is happy with his role and loves his team and the role he has

I'm not a pro baaketball player or anything but something I've seen from this team is role players play a bigger part in a trams success sometimes it's extremely underrated and can actual be linked to a teams success
