The ENTIRE NBA Is Calling This Team For Trades…

So the Brooklyn Nets uh for whatever reason that’s my basketball team has been since I was a kid I don’t know why I made that decision I wish someone would have stopped me I mean I could probably talk about them for 40 minutes we’re not going to do that today maybe

Another day the Nets are in a really really bad spot after a decent start to the year that started to give people like myself some hope you could certainly argue that they have completely lost any sense of direction that they might have had before this season about 10 games 12 games ago the

Nets went on this big West Coast Road Trip they went to Phoenix and they beat the Suns and it was this really cool moment because they beat Kevin Durant and it was just this team win where Phoenix was the better team but they were still able to win on the road in

Phoenix since that game not saying this lightly the Nets have been arguably the worst team in the league that isn’t the Detroit pist like there are other teams around the league that are bad Charlotte’s really bad Spurs have not been very good the Nets lost to the

Wizards not that long ago they’re like 2 and 10 in their last 12 games they just got destroyed by the Pelicans and even worse than that this appears to be a team without a true Direct Direction at the beginning of the Season it was mckel Bridges and cam Thomas and they weren’t

Guarding particularly well but they were able to put together a really really good offensive group because they were shooting the ball really well there was a ton of spacing everybody was sharing the ball and that that is just completely collapsed it’s been a very weird situation and now you have to

Start wondering what the rest of the season is going to look like for Brooklyn I honestly think that we are now at the point where they’re going to have to start seriously considering breaking down this team the reason that they haven’t done it yet or didn’t do it

Going into the season is one they probably thought they could be a 40 to 45 win team potentially and two they don’t have their own draft pick this year so they have other teams picks they have Phoenix they have Philadelphia future pick they have a Dallas future

Pick or two but they don’t have their own Houston has their pick this year and that always is going to make a team hesitant to break things down but this is a team that has a lot of pieces that other teams around the league would want like there are plenty of teams Milwaukee

Philadelphia the LA teams Miami there are plenty of teams around the league that would be excited if Brooklyn did decide to kind of rebuild things and break their team down because they’ve got a ton of different wings that they could trade uh they’ve got some some bigs that could be interesting for a

Variety of different teams and I think we’re quickly approaching the point at which Brooklyn is going to be at least faced with that decision I don’t know if they’re going to make that decision because to actively make your team worse than a year in which you don’t have your

Own draft pick not ideal but some of these guys like Nick claxon need a new contract Royce O’Neal Dorian FY Smith these guys are probably at the peak of their value and so even with the the situation with the draft pick it might still make sense to trade these guys and

It just it’s sucks that they are where they are right like the future is still decent they’ve still got you know someone like cam Thomas despite the fact that they don’t really play him that much anymore um they do still have plenty of future picks but definitely

Very very close to being in uh in seller mode in Brooklyn and I really think that the core foundational question for this team that needs to be answered is who are the pieces that you’re moving forward with because prior to this recent you know downturn for them like

When they beat Phoenix there were conversations about oh do they need to add you know a star do they need to maybe go out and get Donovan Mitchell with these future picks that they have have because they have you know all these wings that could potentially play

Well alongside a star they were at least semi involved potentially in some Damen Lillard conversations this past offseason so there was a Structure there that made sense for them to potentially add but if they’re not going to do that and they’re going to start breaking things down you have to identify who

You’re keeping you can’t just trade away everybody you have to keep in mind hey these are the players that are going to stay on the roster and I asked that question to you who are the keepers on the team a lot of people really like cam

Thomas and he was awesome to begin the season but clearly there’s something happening with the coaching staff a lot of Nets fans hate the coaching staff there clearly there’s something happening there that they don’t trust cam Thomas obviously he can’t guard he’s not a very good facilitator he can

Absolutely score the ball but I think it’s certainly a question mark right now if he’s a foundational piece for the team you also have male Bridges who is arguably the most interesting piece in all of this because at the time that they traded for Bridges when they got

Him from Phoenix Memphis offered four first round picks for Mel Bridges and other teams offered multiple firsts for Bridges the net decided to keep him he was awesome at the end of last year and this year he’s had some good moments and at other times not so great he’s fallen

Off defensively not a super efficient score obviously it’s not an ideal circumstance for him but you do have to start thinking about is he a foundational piece or is he someone you could look to potentially move because he’s not as young as you would think

That he is he’s a little closer to 30 than you would think that he would be and even though he’s on this fantastic contract that I think is one of the main reasons why he has so much value because he is so cheap relative to the other

Players around the league that are kind of on his level in terms of being a two-way player and that’s really valuable to these contending teams that already have expensive rosters I wouldn’t be surprised if they start to look at trading away Mel Bridges as a real possibility and if let’s say they

Don’t view Camp Thomas on that level of foundational player and they’re seriously considering trading away Mel Bridges who’s left on the team that you view as a foundational piece Nick Claxton drron sharp Ben Simmons No so that’s the that’s kind of my point here the Nets don’t have their pick they

Don’t appear to have players that they feel are foundational to the future of their franchise apart from potentially Bridges and Thomas and they have all these other pieces that are very clearly valuable to other team teams that they can get stuff for and in any other situation like if the Nets had their

Pick this year you would just assume that they would start trading away finny Smith and Royce O’Neal these guys that are you know 30 plus that are going to get you know some stuff you’re going to at least get you know a future first or something for those guys uh there’s a

Lot of teams around the league that would really like to add you know some depth pieces on the wing you would just do that but them not having the first- round pick complicates the situation and I can easily foresee a scenario where Brooklyn goes into the second half of

The Season beyond the trade deadline with this exact roster in the concern for me as a fan as well as just if I was an unbiased Observer of the team that doesn’t feel like the correct decision you can’t get the Houston pick back you can’t get that pick back from them it is

Gone is a sunk cost nothing you do this season apart from literally trading with the Rockets gets you your first round pick back this year so unless for whatever reason they’re willing to trade the pick back it’s not a real possibility you have to act as if that

Pick is already gone and you can’t worry about where the pick lands in the draft and and what it means to potentially break things down because if you can get more value this season for finy Smith roce O’Neal whoever you want to trade if you can get more value for those guys

This year than you could next year then the correct decision is to trade them regardless of where your pick lands in this upcoming draft now at the end of the day there is still plenty of Hope for the future in Brooklyn plenty of people were upset about the front office

And the coaching staff and all that but apart from that from an asset perspective obviously them not owning their own picks is an issue but they own a ton of other future first they have all those Phoenix picks and there are still some players whether be cam Thomas

Or bridges that are exciting or relatively exciting on the roster claxon is another interesting guy that they could potentially look to move or keep Dron sharp has been really good this year there’s plenty of possibilities there in terms of what the future of Brooklyn Nets basketball could potentially look like and generally

Speaking this is a team that’s done a good job of developing players despite not having high picks in the draft so that is all good stuff but for this season right now the concern isn’t the future the concern isn’t the future assets the concern is the direction of

The team and we’ve talked about this with Toronto prog and an Obi trade we’ve talked about this with Atlanta not having a direction not knowing where you’re going is the most dangerous place you can possibly be feeling like you know one group maybe the front office wants to break things down the coaching

Staff doesn’t feeling like there’s no streamlined path you say hey our goal is to be a top four team in the east in three years and then here’s how we get there or our goal is to be a competitive playoff team by the end of this season

Or the end of next season here’s how we get there you have to have an understanding of where you’re going is an organization and everybody has to be on the same page and right now especially given how the last handful of games have gone for Brooklyn it feels

Like a team that doesn’t have a direction and as a result a lot of teams are going to be calling about these guys on this team and it could very easily become a situation where they just start trading guys away now obviously I can be unbiased about my team but at times you

Know I worry a little bit about maybe having too strong of an opinion one way or the other about the net so I’m curious about what you guys have to say in the comment section what would you do if you were in charge of the team would

You try and keep it going would you play cam Thomas More would you trade cam Thomas you trade for a star would you trade all these role player guys away what would you do if you were in charge of the Nets because if I’m honest it’s one of the more difficult situations to

Figure out right now in the league

The Brooklyn Nets are a team without a direction, and seem ready to trade a bunch of pieces at the NBA trade deadline.

  1. Mikal Bridges is not a star ⭐️ I would definitely trade him and get back strong role players and picks while the NBA is high on him. I would look to being cap ready for a star who becomes disgruntled like Trae Young, Devin Booker especially if things fail in Phoenix

  2. The spurs don’t get enough credit for bad they really are. They’re historically bad but we only care about 1 of their players and we have the Pistons to clown on.

  3. We don’t need to break our team down, we could ship off Royce or DFS and a 2nd to Houston to get our picks back, and we’ll be good.

  4. As a Spurs fan I can say our team talent wise is worse than the Nets. Our direction for the future is much more clear though.

  5. Brooklyn can trade for superstar cam Thomas is just another Jeremy Lin feel like they can trade him and nick claxton for Zach lavine

  6. Brooklyn is such a wierd team.. in 20 years if someone were to ask you, "what team did all these players play for? KD, KG, Kyrie, Harden, Paul the Truth, Ben Simmons, deron Williams, Jason Jett..
No one would EVER guess the Nets.
Such a waste of so much talent. Ain't done a thing since Kidd and KMart were shipped out.

  7. You keep Emphasizing about them not having their pick this year when Houston also owns their 2026 AND their 2025 & 2027 Swaps. Those swaps are important when you remember how The Celtics got Jayson Tatum. I keep going back and forth on whether they should worry about not repeating the same mistake from the 2012 trade again. I agree the Picks are gone but boy how embarrassing would it be if The Rockets got their own "Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown" because of Brooklyn's foolish decision to chase after stars.

  8. 1 i'd start getting new coach who will play cam thomas like the future star his truly is started off great whe he was starting

  9. Nets fans wanting to trade Mikal now sounds crazy to me. Only sensible Mikal trade is with Houston to get our picks back. The value of the other team picks are too speculative that it makes bottoming out too uncertain to develop any form of long term rebuild strategy. If we don’t get our picks back then we need to do something similar to Toronto and prioritize players over picks.

    As for tradeable assets,
Claxton is elite and an incredible asset but he requires a specific roster construction that plays switching defense to really thrive. With Sharpe and Clowney already in the pipeline and given their proven track record for developing bigs it makes Claxton and the 5 a little more redundant. Which in my opinion makes him the most expendable sell high trade piece.

Good 2 way wings are the most difficult pieces to come by in the league. And it is required for any true contender. Therefore we should keep all the 20 something yr old price controlled pieces. (eg Twins and Jalen Wilson).

Cam Thomas is the X factor so I’d rather keep him. But he is ultimately tradeable for scorers like Donovan Mitchell.

Everyone else is available for trades. Don’t think there’s any legit superstar trades available at this time so Nets should be open to targeting borderline stars (Siakam/Lauri) at the right price or promising young players (Kuminga/Moody). Or a proper PG to hold them over cuz Dinwiddie just isn’t cutting it. (Like TJ McConnell or Tyus Jones)

  10. I'm a Nets fans so I'm also biased, but I agree. Can't worry about Houston, in the next 30 days, the Nets have to trade away some of these veterans and get a treasure chest of assets back. Build around Cam Thomas and develop him, see how high his ceiling is. Use what assets you will get for future star trades.

  11. It's not working in New Jersey. They should trade Bridges, Johnson, Dinwiddie for picks, several young pieces. And Claxton get a young better center. No shame in this do to what idiots, drama Irving, Durant and Harden did to Nets crybabies lol. I want to see Nets rebound from this and above three bums Irving, Harden, and Durant did to them.

  12. Ay Nets fan remember Joe Tsai said “it’s bigger than basketball” 😂😂😂😂😂 got to be the worse owner in the league 💯

  13. Must get away from Ben Simmons!!!! They should keep bridges, claxton and cam Thomas but they need an actual star in there to lead. Also, Dimmwiddie’s got to go! Too inconsistent

  14. We have so many valuable players. I would love to see them blow it up and see what and who they can get back. We have to keep Clax and Cam tho

  15. If I were the Nets, I'd trade with the Rockets. Not to get their pick back, but for other future picks. Trading away value to the Rockets helps the Rockets get a higher pick in the next draft. Win-win. If Rockets are interested in anyone, and willing to trade other future 1sts, do it.

  16. NBA should have that Loan thing like
in football, so players won't waste their time rotting away on teams who likely will tank

  17. This situation is terrible. I think they s Gould either trade everyone except for claxton and thomas or they should trade for a star/superstar like a Donovan's Mitchell type.

  18. The Nets probably need to eventually trade Mikal Bridges. It's not quite as dire as the Jazz situation with Markkanen because Markkanen is about to get a max extension while the Nets still have a year or two with Bridges at reasonable money… but it's coming.

The Jazz and Nets need to realize that while they're great players they're not guys you can build a championship team around. You just can't. So you either have to use your assets to trade for that elite guy to put Markkanen/Bridges next too. Or you just have to move Markkanen/Bridges for more assets and maximize everything… your asset pool, books, flexibility, etc.

  19. I'd go the other direction and try to add a star. The main problem I see with this team is they have a bunch of 2nd and 3rd options. A star player would really make this team cohere. Maybe they don't have enough assets to get there, idk. But they do have a bunch of other teams' picks and some appealing young players. Obviously, you don't want to trade too many of those young players away because the whole point is adding a star TO those young players.

  20. I'm a Bulls fan and I would love have Finney-Smith on my team. He is one of the best and cheapest 3&D players in the league.

  21. To me cam and clax are untouchable, everyone else is on the block including Mikal, just don’t really fit our timeline and we can get good value back

  22. As a Spurs fan from Australia, I'd take Ben Simmons. For what? No idea but I think if he was just a slash and pass PG for us, that opens the game up for Wemby. Obviously he's just crocked but I think he'd work well for us

  23. MPJ for Bridge would be my dream scenario for my Nuggets.

They need to trade all their role players. DFS,RoN,Spencer,Cameron Johnson and Simmons(seriously doubt someone taking that bum) they all need to go. I would even trade Bridges too since he's closest to the 30's.

There's no point of having high end role players if you ain't contending for nothing. Sell them, get something back and rebuild because those kind of players are on the older side and they soon gonna be asking out since they don't want to waste their career on a developing team so get ahead of the curve and deal them now

  24. The fact that they lived through the Pierce-Garnett trade and thought "Let's do the exact same thing" might be the sign you need a new team.

  25. I would keep it going, because Nets do not own your own picks. Dry with this core as long you don't have your picks and if you have not got anywhere by the time you own your picks again, than go rebuild. If you go rebuild now, you only give top picks other teams!
