So maybe like some of you, I follow the Bucks on social Media (notably instagram) and the comment on every post never fails to disappoint me !
Whether it’s literally insulting players (notably Pat/Bobby) on every defeat or the torrent of hate on this exemple, I found this very disturbing.
So what ?
Is it the standard for every sport community (I don’t really follow anything else) or is it just the Bucks ?
Peace out fellow fan

See my comment on the other post this morning…
Easy, fans are fickle and there’s lots of homophobes out there. Sad but true.
I know. I wish people weren’t such pricks.
some people can’t help but vent their frustrations and project that onto sports….. the anonymity begs for it… i can’t fathom half of them mean what they say… they just find its empowering to vent and belittle and dehumanize and categorize people based on what is happening at that exact moment and how they feel. it is not a bucks thing it is a human species thing….
A lot of people hiding behind trolling accounts. Easier to say how you truly feel when it’s not your true name and picture on the account.
Give a man a mask and they’ll show you their true face.
It’s Instagram
Loud minority unfortunately. Sports world is also homophobic compared to others
Also, there are groups that witch-hunt posts
Bigots always show up to pride night posts
Has nothing to do with the Bucks or basketball, it’s just what almost all Instagram comment sections are like
bum ass losers
Instagram is a cesspool. I’m in the age bracket of those people making the comments (I think) and it’s truely horrid. I’m in a bucks group chat and see the most homophobic, sexist etc etc comments made. Makes me really sad to see how common these types of people are.
Lots of hate out there in the world
As much hate as Reddit gets (and deservedly so), sports communities on Instagram, Facebook, and to an extent Twitter are sooo much worse.
IG comment sections have only gotten worse over time.
Instagram comments are inordinately negative, moreso than any other platform. Something about the algorithm.
