Uh another kind of slow offensive night for Dame um just what have you seen from him recently just not being able to find a rhythm on the offens no he’ll come um I you know it’s it’s a team sport it’s five five guys out there you know I thought we dug
Oursel in the hole as a unit but I love how we fought and got out tried to get out of it just kind of ran out of time but you know like I said Dame’s going to sometimes the ball doesn’t fall for you and like he was getting some good looks
And then sometimes they you know give them credit they you know they were switching they’re long they’re athletic um you know uh they did a good job uh defensively but I thought the second half we started making some adjustments on both sides of the ball and I thought
Uh we had some good production from you know some of our young guys coming in Dre was terrific Mar John was terrific uh we’ll figure it out and Dame will figure it out you know it’s uh you know always sucks to lose but you know we win together
And we lose together um you know they didn’t have Dylan Brooks it wasn’t just D I mean you know Yannis had 16 field goals the whole team only made 19 so what outside of Giannis were they maybe doing to create that many stops or create that
Many Miss shots well I think uh number one it just starts with defense I think in the the first half we just wasn’t uh able to get as many stops as we would like and you know that helps us in to get out and transition you know we’re we’re pretty
Good you know Giannis is you know Giannis in transition Damon transition you know Chris we can get easy baskets and you know when you’re taking the ball out just hard you know to to to get those clean looks and you have to you know walk it up or get it up the floor
And now you got to execute so but I thought in the second half we started to get a lot more more stops uh you know we switched up our defense they did a good job with that uh and then we were able to to score in the second half I think
We you know put up uh 35 in the fourth and uh we held them to 49 uh points in the second half so uh a lot of that I think just stemmed early on uh just not being able to get some stops just what you see from a ball pressure standpoint
In that first half of them being able to get to the rim and maybe affect you guys that way no I don’t know if it’s a ball pressure you know they switch a lot um you know they they did a good job when they do switch they scramm their small
So uh you know give them credit they did a good job following their game plan uh defensively um but also I thought you know again we we had some open looks and we got we got to knock them down you know uh we only made nine threes tonight
Uh probably shot the ball somewhere around the three from 25 26% you know on the road you got to be able to knock down open shots and uh you know we missed a few uh free throws and that we normally make so you know you got to
Play well it’s a very good team well coached team and uh again they they jumped on us early or we dug oursel in the ho early and uh but I like how we you know you it’s always kind of a game in the game within a game and you know
We made some adjustments and I love the fight you know in the second half and and you know we didn’t give up um you know again we ran out a little bit of time but I I love how we competed in the second half what went into going with
Andre to start the the second half and not just that but also then to have him on shenon at times yeah we’re just switching up our defense a little bit I thought we just needed a little bit of uh of energy and and that’s you know
That’s what Dre brings he just brings uh the the energy you know bees has been great for us um he’ll continue to be great for us but I think you know when when you’re down like that at halftime you know just trying to give uh the team
A spark and I thought Dre did a tremendous job I think he did an excellent job um we were able again to switch up our matchups throw out something different and um you know ball bounce here there may be uh a different outcome but I thought everyone
Especially in that second half that you know even AJ Green came in gave us some good a few minutes there um but I like how we again it just it’s just about competing and I thought we really uh competed to get back in the game you
Know know and and you give yourself a chance in the team huddles tonight a lot of your veteran players they made sure to go up to Dre and say something to him give him advice Etc how valuable is that for you to see as a coach to see your
Veterans talking to your roof that way well you know Dre is a you know very likable guy number one extremely coachable uh all the players love him you know he’s because they respect what he does out there you know they you know you can’t fool the players you know he’s
He’s out there and he’s hustling you know he’s athletic he he works extremely hard on the defensive end he leaves it all out on the floor and that’s all you can ask and you know you you get respect in this league by doing the gritty work you know the offense rebounds diving on
The floor and his teammates respect that and you you could tell how much they value him and wanted to see him succeed you know I saw Giannis and all the veteran guys pull him aside uh for Dre is just about getting the Reps you know
He just um and only way to do it is to be out there on the floor and just kind of learn uh on on the job you know training and but I thought Dre did a really good job of just responding tonight I played him you know probably
Eight straight you know nine maybe 10 straight minutes uh in that uh third quarter and I thought he did a tremendous job Mar also had some big moments tonight what did you see from him you know I really like just how Mar John is coming along you know the um he
Got ill a couple games ago and then the last two games just uh just love like he’s he’s following the game plan he’s he’s being physical he’s has tough drives he’s making it you know made a big three for us and just bringing that energy and effort um that’s how you stay
On the floor you know you you play hard um you follow a game plan the ball’s going to find you especially on the floor with Giannis and Dame and uh I thought he really looked good out there I like how um you know we we finished
You know the game with those guys out there competing and you know Mar John gives us another guy that’s 6667 that’s athletic that can switch that can rebound you know he was trying to fly around getting on the old boards and you know just doing all the little things so
You know just really pleased about how he competed tonight I don’t think Second Chance points were a huge problem tonight but there is that possession with about 515 left where they get two of them yeah the timing you know those loose balls and uh you know a couple of
Them we just bounc crazy or uh you know those 50-50 balls you you know you just got to get them man and uh you know that’s something obviously uh we got to improve on uh especially late game just limit them to one shot and I think there
Was one in the fourth quarter where where Tate kind of flew in and got a easy tip in but you know the the fourth quarter has to be your best quarter and and you know we I thought we we did a tremendous job of putting oursel in a
Position at the end but you know you got to be able to to do the little things that that continue to go into winning and the these things happen fast you know Split Second decisions you know and as soon as you turn your head and um you
Know we just got to continue to to um teach it uh be disciplined with it but um you know during that time of the game it it it uh you know gets magnified uh cuz we really were playing some really good defense you know and unfortunately
We didn’t come up with the that rebound but um guys didn’t give up fighting and I you know you can see that you know our DNA is is is coming through we just it’s going it’s going to come around again it’s going to click like nobody’s panicking or anything but you know we
Got to continue to to find ways to get better do you have an update on cam off it looked like he went off uh there in the fourth quarter uh I no not no not necessarily um not 100% sure so I don’t want to speak prematurely so thanks yep thank You
