I think the Raptors coach has a legit point and I also think we got screwed yesterday because they wanted to make it closer and make the Pacers more exciting or marketable.
But it would be a really bad look if the Celtics started doing that unless it’s extremely egregious. We need to learn how to get wins strong enough that refs can’t do shit about it—need to have the answers for every type of bullshit that could be thrown our way in the postseason.

I mean Joe does that on his own way, when asked about referring he is quite passive aggressive with looks and “I don’t want to lose X thousand”.
He is also pretty aggressive to talk about things (ie: Washburn) that he feels is unfair from the people who cover the team. The difference is that he is more controlled on the approach. His interviews are amongst the best in the NBA in giving information (without giving secrets) and being somewhat harsh, at least this current season.
I guess fans want the obvious (ie: Ime called them assholes) instead of a thoughtful and insightful talk about the game with bits of harshness when needed.

Do people truly, honestly believe the refs legitimately try to rig and throw the games? I don’t. I just think they’re terrible and suck ass at their job. That and they’re overly sensitive and it can affect the way they call the game if they feel one team or one coach is being too annoying or mean to them.
But I don’t think they have a meeting before the game and go “this is how we’re gonna call the game, this is the player we’re gonna target, this is how many fouls we’re gonna call, and if the score is within x amount of points this is what we’ll do.”

Ehhh different people lead and conduct themselves in different ways. I remember early on in Tatum’s career I really wanted him to be very [vocal and cutthroat in the way IT was on the court.](https://youtube.com/shorts/8pPVE_7f8BA?feature=shared) That’s just not his personality and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean he can’t lead a team or that he doesn’t care, that’s just who he is.

Getting in front of a microphone and saying Scottie Barnes is going to be the face of the league is wild

i love this rant but this is the perfect way for the refs to start a vendetta against your squad

Couldn’t agree less. Love cool calm and collected. Even keeps.me in check when they pan the camera over to him. Leave the over emotion to our color commentary. Miss you Tommy.

I do love the heated take on the refs. The whole he’s a star he’s not so he gets the call thing is stupid.

Being upset in the postgame conference doesn’t actually help anyone
Fans care way too much about what coaches say at the podiums. The celtics have the best record in the league, no reason Joe should be going scorched earth in the pressers

We have the best record in the league and we got royally screwed out of one game. Coach knows how to play it… we keep it moving and stay focused on what we can control.
