So… are we good or not? Cause I’m so confused

I know we’ve said this at least four other times, but probably the best win of the season? Didn’t feel like we got randomly hot or anything flukey. Just an impenetrable gameplan executed to perfection.

  3. The last few games have been the best team basketball in the damn league.

Will Hardy turning the ugly ass selfish offense from the first 20 games into this beautiful, egalitarian, fun-as-hell team is pure witchcraft. I think he’s the guy.

  5. Remember that one time where we were bad and then we were somehow beating good teams? That was crazy

Team has come a long way since getting healthy

Oh man all the students saying the Nuggets were going to win are going to eat so much crow tomorrow.

  8. You guys getting ready for the Finals yet or no?

Phenomenal, incredible win. Love this team.

But can we talk about the broadcast? I love Thurl; met the guy, shook his hand, he’s an exceptional human being.

But Mike and Boler is such an elite combo. Mike offers such an incredible level of insight with his color commentary, and his rapport with Boler is so natural. I enjoy watching our games more when this pair is on commentary. Will the team ever realize the potential Mike has as a broadcaster? I hope so.

The Jazz have played the Celtics, 76ers (on a back to back), Bucks, and Nuggets. 3-1 in these games

  11. Heck of a game by Jazz

Both teams shot 13 out of 33 threes btw

  12. Marry a loyal Jazz fan because they’ll stick with you through thick and through thin. Reminiscing back on *that* Boston game… this was a breath of fresh air. Ggs!

    GAME NOTES:

So apparently THT was the issue all along? 9-0 in games where he is a DNP CD. 9 wins in our last 11 played, making it the best record in the west, and tied with the Celtics for best in the NBA in those 11 games………….are we a good team…?

Some things that stood out to me apart from individual performances: Will Hardy did a stellar job with rotations tonight. Early in the third, when Jokic was starting to figure out our defense and was making correct reads, Hardy subbed in Kessler and it made an immediate impact defensively. I felt like the rotations were on point, and have been great recently.

Hardy has absolutely figured out his scheme. He runs a solid mix of zone & man depending on who he has on the floor and who the opponent has, and he switches it up just enough where the opposing team can’t quite get a grasp on how to beat it. He did it a few times in the first quarter, and went outside of his regular rotations in the third to bring Kessler in early, as I mentioned above. I’m very excited for what he has in store.

Another extremely solid team showing, led by Jordan Clarkson offensively. 27 points on 12-19 shooting, 3-8 from 3, 2 rebounds, a team high 9 assists, 1 steal, and only 2 turnovers. Great game from Clarkson, this is the most willing I’ve ever seen him with passing. He drives in, gets doubled, and kicks it out. He drives in, notices a cutting Lauri, and feeds him. He’s not looking to pass per se, but he isn’t always looking to score, if that makes sense. Great showing by JC.

Secondly, Lauri was amazing. He was aggressive all night in getting to the rim, and his free throws showed for it. 12-12 from the charity stripe to go with 6-13 shooting, and 2-5 from 3 for 26 points. 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block as well. He was making all sorts of nifty moves, and taking advantage of the smaller defenders in Watson, Braun, and MPJ. He was unstoppable tonight when he was driving, either getting free throws or getting a bucket. He had one really nice play where he drove in, noticed a cutting Kessler on the baseline, and threw him a perfect lob. The team chemistry and trust is unreal.

Collin Sexton continues his reign of terror. This is the Collin that I’m sure the Jazz wanted when we originally traded Don to Cleveland. It seems like it took him a while to come back to 100% after his injury, because he is playing so well. The confidence has always been there, but now it’s tenfold. He knows he can hit shots, and make plays. 22 points, 8-14 shooting, 2-4 from 3, 4-4 from the line, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover. Either he is on the hottest streak of his career or this is just who he really is as a player. Regardless, I love it.

John Collins looked pretty aggressive tonight, and it looked like early in the game we were looking to get him fed. He hit both of his 3’s in the first quarter, and finished with 15 points, 6-10 shooting, 2-4 from 3, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 11 steal in 24 minutes. Even though he played just 24 minutes, his production was insanely good, and I think it’s because we were looking for him early. Great game from John the Baptist

Kris Dunn started and had himself a wacky statline. 24 minutes, 5 points on 2-2 shooting, 1-1 from 3, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover. His defense was on full display, and I’m very glad that Hardy has realized it recently. I think that THT unfortunately played himself out of the rotation, and Dunn has been so consistently good that Hardy couldn’t resist anymore. He has revamped our defense.

Walker Kessler played just 15 minutes (still a gripe with me, I’d love to see him play more), but he was very productive. 8 points, 4-4 shooting, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block, but 4 fouls. A lot of his counting stats didn’t show up tonight, but his impact was there. He’s starting to have a bit of that Gobert effect where players are deciding not to shoot at the rim when Kessler is there. It’s amazing to see. I just want to see more consistent minutes from him, but credit to Hardy for realizing when he is needed, and when he necessarily isn’t.

Kelly Olynyk another Klassic Klynyk line: 9 points, 4-5 shooting, 1-1 from 3, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover in 19 minutes. I’m a big Kelly fan, and think that the versatility he brings to our offense is unbeat for his contract. He’s hitting his stride as well.

Keyonte struggled shooting wise, and suffered from being a rookie in regards to getting a lack of calls. It felt like he was aggressive, and was getting contact, just no calls. He had 6 points, 2-7 from the field, 1-4 from 3, 1-2 from the line, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover in 22 minutes. He provided some good defense on Murray which surprised me, and I think he defends best in a zone rather than in man-on-man. Pretty good game, I loved the aggressiveness, even though it didn’t amount to much.

Agbaji’s stats show a lot of nothing, 0 points on 0-2 shooting, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 1 foul in 13 minutes. But man, those two blocks were so beautiful. His hustle is unmatched, I just need his offense to pick up a bit. I’m sure it’s why his minutes are slowly dropping, but his hustle and on ball defense is great. Probably the second best perimeter defender, and our best wing defender.

Tech struggled tonight, 3 points, 1-5 shooting, 1-4 from 3, 2 assists, 3 turnovers. He just had an off night, but no big deal.

Our offense the last few first quarters has been stellar. We come out of games itching to shoot, and very aggressive on defense, and it allows us to build up a lead. Even though we won by 13, the game wasn’t as close as it seemed.

    19-20! PLAY-IN HERE WE COME.

Was at the game, few things..
    1. Holy hell the refs wanted the nuggets to get back in this game in the 3rd. Seriously terrible calls, and I’m still confused how the John Collins near dunk getting hacked wasn’t the act of shooting??
    2. Our guys were locked in all game, the body language was good they were all serious the entire game.
    3.
    3. We won and I am happy

  15. cyianite

Can’t wait what will be the excuses of every Sports media about the Jazz being lucky. No Embiid, No Dame now against the Denver, no Cancar.

They are totally a different team a few weeks ago, this must be the fastest rebuild of a team

  16. austinc668

We just whooped the reigning champs ass while they were fully healthy…. What is happening?

  17. Justin_Tremblay_III

Utahians… Nuggets fan here. Congrats. You have a great team. I’d like couple of your guys on Nuggets’ roster…

    Oh well.

On Nuggets side – it’s just sad at this point. We need a much better player than Murray and we need a backup C… We’re missing Brown and, strangely, Green.

Unfortunately, Nuggets are missing a 2nd (can’t even think about 3rd) star – no all-star to compliment and help Jokic, not even close.

As I said – I’d like to see couple of your guys on our roster… But I don’t think you’d be stupid to trade.

    Congrats again.

  18. It’s pretty crazy that out of our last 7 games, Detroit has been our biggest nail biter.

…what? The Boston game? What are you talking about, we haven’t played Boston yet this year.
