I’ve said this before, but with Embiid anchoring our defense, being a dominant scorer and now even facilitating so much of our offense, we’ve never been more reliant on him than now.
Last season, Harden helped us win a lot of games too. Before that, Ben usually had us about .500 even when Joel missed games. This year our teams pretty much role players who can’t create mixed in with Tobias who for the most part is a ghost and Maxey whose been very inefficient in non Embiid games (50 TS% in 8 games, 8% worse than league average), because his self creations a lot worse than him playing off stars.
The next move we make can’t be just for a guy like DFS. We don’t need more role players, we have 4-5 guys you’d be comfortable to have in a playoff rotation. This team’s gotta wait for more star power to actually raise our ceiling. The problem is I don’t see anybody on the trade block that actually fits us since Lauri won’t be on it. Have to hope Bridges is on the block I think and that’s gonna be a long shot

If Embiid doesn’t play in the playoffs we will lose anyway

Maxey’s creation is not the problem(imagine complaining about the creation of a 27 PPG scorer) actually wait, imagine complaining about a guy as dominate driving to the basket(especially over the last five games) like it’s anyone’s business.
One big problem is Nick Nurse’s obsession with Bamba/Morris. They are some of the worst defensive bigs and rebounding bigs. I don’t think we’re that bad of a defensive team, but once you play liabilites like those, it makes it so much harder then it has to be.
The other issue is the shooting thing. And not just Maxey’s, the whole damn team. Gone is Georges Niang, Shake Milton, etc guys who could randomly put in 15 a game.
Insert Pat Bev and I love him but seriously lol. And he’s our BEST bench guy if Oubre’s a starter. We do have Melton, but he’s a tweener.
Simply put, there’s not enough talent without Embiid even if Maxey hit some of these shots to get a better FG%
Improve the team, Maxey’s FG% will increase as a result.

I mean Harden is one of the best players in the league. What do people expect? We need Embiid back.
Honestly, most teams are going to suck when structured around a superstar.
Warriors without Curry are 0-2
Mavericks without Doncix are 1-3
Nuggets without Jokic are 1-0
Bucks without Giannis are 1-0
The issue is that Embiid misses so many games. Its incredibly hard to build a team around an MVP player, but also somehow account for the fact they miss heaps of time.
