BREAKING NEWS: PISTONS TRADE BAGLEY & LIVERS! SHOULD PISTONS TRADE IVEY FOR DeJOUNTE MURRAY?

Welcome to the Piston fanatic I am your host Dave Dalton and I’m excited to share my passion and perspective of R Detroit Pistons as we go on this Fantastic Voyage together I’ve been a dieh hard piston fan since the days of Dave Bing and Bob laner I’ve also been

The varsity basketball coach of a very successful program in northern Michigan well I appreciate every one of you for listening Please Subscribe and like and piston pans we have some breaking news we have a trade the Detroit Pistons have traded Marvin Begley III now is livers

Along with two second round picks one of the picks is going to be in 2025 and one of them is going to be in 2026 and both those trades are complicated they’re not Detroit’s pick but they’re they could go any of three like three different directions so it

Could be the worst or the best of three different teams so second round picks are always passed around like that and traded from Team to team constantly in the future for future picks so it’ll be interesting how that pans out but it really you know it’s not much of

Significance right now but we are trading those two for danello galinari and Mike muscala from the Washington Wizards who we play tomorrow which is ironic and both of those guys are on expiring contract so this deal is basically to get rid of Marvin Begley’s third next year’s contract we owe him

$12 million next year so that’s really seems to be the driving force or the only reason for this trade and it’s kind of interesting CU most of us thought why did we give him three years you know and not just two years in a team option so

And a lot of people thought that he got overpaid but I I I like Marvin I thought he’s a great offensive player and he’s a I think more than adequate backup in the league and so um they have their Senator got injured the wizard Senator got injured and Daniel Gafford and so I

Think they have definitely room for him to get some opportunities and I wish him good luck and Isaiah livers I loved Isaiah livers and I was often critical I was angry that we played him sometimes instead of playing assar and you know I feel bad that livers was always injured

And he was a good really good shooter but he couldn’t shoot he never shot well for the Pistons so you know his contract was only like 1.8 million and so it was going to be up at the end of this year and we could have extended him but um

Now we’re you know now that’ll be the Wizards option to do that I always thought he would be a good guy to have like your 13th guy on your team you know you have to have 14 or 15 guys on your te roster and I thought that he’s such a

Good guy and he’s a connector and he talks on defense and he’s a smart player and I think everybody liked him and he you know good luck Isaiah livers and I again I feel bad because here’s what happened these guys walk in they come to practice early today they get in and do

Some individual work and then they walk into practice and they find out they’re traded and now they got to all of a sudden go to their teammates and talk to their teammates and say goodbye and you know some of these guys have been together like three years and I know

They they get friendships and they get close to each other and it just lets you show how much of a business the NBA is but these guys now they have to find you know get on an airplane they have to fly and get a place to stay I’m sure

Obviously they’ll stay on a hotel but then they got to move all their stuff and they don’t know how long are they going to be in Washington and it just sends up and they’re they’re just young guys they’re just you know Marvin’s only 24 years old you know he’s been around

Forever but he’s he’s just a youngster so it does you know there’s a scene in Moneyball and there’s Billy Bean was the general manager was a true story based on the Oakland A’s and he this is baseball and he goes to his managers his manager has this player

That they keep playing and the general manager doesn’t want the manager to play him because he’s not efficient he you know the analytics show that he’s a negative U player and so he goes into him and says you’re not going to play him anymore uh bad pit who played Billy

Bean says you’re not going to play him anymore because I traded him so I think you know I that maybe that you know it’s going to be a factor with um I don’t know if that crossed Troy Weaver’s mind so that Monty can’t play livers anymore

And so that the minutes will go to AAR hopefully and even Kevin Knox so I here’s my opinion on Kevin Knox I think Kevin Knox he’s 24 he’s not making M you know he’s making the minimum and I would sign him I would sign him to at least a

Three-year contract and you could have the third year be a team option and give him 5 million a year or some you know low figure like that and you know he he had no team you know he started the first month of the Season nobody wanted

Him and he shown some really good signs of playing for us and you could even if he was our you know fourth third or fourth Wing you know to have on our team there’s never enough Wings we we don’t have enough and so I think that would be

A good move for us but anyway like I said we’re playing the Wizards tomorrow and um ironically galar’s brother is a Player Development coach for the Pistons but we might even buy out galinari it’s hard hard to say but both those guys can shoot I’m not sure how much they’re

Going to play you know they might put mcalla in there they both galinari can’t guard anybody anymore he was kind of a 34 now he’s kind of a five because he can’t guard any fours and muscala is not quick he’s 610 but um ginary’s 35 he’s

Been average of seven points a game and mcalla 32 and he’s 60 but he is only averaging Four Points a game and three rebounds but they’re you know I’m sure playing really limited minutes even though they’re on you know the third worst team in the NBA so um yeah it’ll

Be interesting to see how everything plays out tomorrow I’m not sure if any of those guys would play tomorrow anyway once the trade has to get officially proved and I think probably players have to have physical so I’m I’m sure none of those players would be playing tomorrow

So um yeah is this is this real a true thing and about players being traded and how hard it is on their lives and things but anyway we’re going to talk about deante Murray and possibly the Pistons trading for him so even um on Yahoo sports they

Were talking about the trade and they said that you know he would one of the guys set Dan deine or Jake fiser I can’t remember which one said that their their pick for the him would be to be traded to the Pistons so there opens a big thing

We would almost have to certainly give up Jaden iy and I love Jaden iy and I think Jaden iy has so much potential and but we do need some players that are a little bit more mature and a little bit older and a little bit more developed

And so that would be a reason for doing that if we don’t ever don’t make the deal I will not be disappointed the hardest thing for me with Jade iy is Monty Williams and you know he Monty says some things even just last after last game that about using him more and

Letting him play on the ball some even and but again we never can trust what Monty says we just got to only wait and see what he actually does um so de jonte Murray is only 27 he’s 6 foot five averages 21 points a game 4.6

Rebounds which is really good and for a guard five assists shooting 47% and best of all 39% on threes and he is a great defensive player so in 2022 he played for the Spurs he played on the All-Star game as a real young player and he led

The league in Steels that year so you know he the thing is he fits great with Cade and I think Ivy does too but Murray is um best at guarding the ones and so Cade can play even the one more and Murray can play the one even though it

Hasn’t worked out great with um Trey young that’s why they would be getting rid of him but the the Hawks are a mess so the Hawks are 15 and 23 really a disappointment for them they’re three and seven in their last 10 games and they got a whole bunch of guys they said

Everybody’s open for trade except Jaylen Johnson and Trey young so we’ll see somebody’s gonna I I’m really confident that somebody’s going to end up getting him in a trade but and maybe it’ll be us but you know we got lots of options and just interesting

What what else we would have to give up besides Ivy because we’re not going to get him just for Jaden Ivy I don’t know if we’re gonna have to trade I think we can trade one first round future pick maybe 20 29 and I’m not sure if we would

Do that but um I don’t know what else that we have that they would want also the other interesting thing is do we trade will they want AAR and would we trade AAR would we rather trade you know who knows but I guess if we we would

Want to trade Ivy if we got uh Murray because then that would fill the other guard spot so yeah it just it’s going to be interesting this trade deadline coming up is really going to be fascinating and whatever happen happens but um it’s cesting Bagley you know we

Gave up not that much for him but now we’re trading him again for to get that third year office contract that maybe we shouldn’t have ever given him but what’s going to happen now weissman’s probably going to get to play a lot more and um I

Don’t know that kind of sets us up you know is bogy more apt to get traded I I thought after the last game when he was sitting on the bench I hadn’t heard any about injuries but he was sitting there and not playing and they said it’s a c

Strain so if that’s the same C that kept him out the first 20 games of the season is he’s going to be out for a long time now and he just he had been on fire and his trade value has just been going up theoretically at least and so we’ll see

What happens hopefully it’s just a minor thing and that it was just a precautionary thing I hope that Cade plays tomorrow andless he’s you know if if he’s showing that he’s 100% ready to go I hope he plays but there’s a lot of teams in the NBA that are up and down

And there’s a lot of teams that are desperate right now including like the Lakers the Lakers are 19 and 21 they came off that uh in season tournament they won it and everybody was all pumped up for them they were all pumped up and now you know three and seven the last 10

Games and they are just a mess and so they’re going to have to make some moves out of desperation because again we’re not as desperate we’re not on this timeline you know LeBron’s you know his timeline his time is ticking you know he’s how many more years does he have

Left that they have him and so they have to make some move somewhere along the line and you know same thing Toronto they’re they’re probably going to make some moves but the Hawks like I said there they got to make some moves the Nets are a sinking ship they’re 16 and

22 and three and s then and the Bulls are 19 and 22 but the Bulls are the opposite ironically the Bulls have picked up they’re 19 and 22 but they won six out of their the last 10 games so the JS who we just barely lost in

Overtime they’re up to 21 and 20 so they won eight of their last 10 games and it’s just fascinating that everybody there’s all these ups and downs in the NBA that we see and Steve Kerr you know the Warriors they are falling apart and they got beat by 36 the other night and

Steve K said you know it’s just here these guys are World Champs they got these guys are World Champs multiple times and they’ve lost their confidence and they’ve lost their Edge and their spirit and Steve Kerr acknowledged that and how easy is and so that’s what happened with our Detroit Pistons not

Only they did they lose but they’re all these young players and they’ve lost their spirit and their confidence but it was they didn’t lose it you know against the Rockets Friday night they they played with spirit and energy and some confidence I think and so I I hope that

That continues it’s not probably going to be every night but that’s what Kur said it’s hard when you’ve lost that you’ve lost your Edge and then all of a sudden you got to play all these great teams everybody in the NBA is good but just as interesting we get get so up and

Down and we think about how bad our team is and we’re the worst team in the league so I’m not saying that we’re not but New Orleans New Orleans last year they were like one of the top teams in the West in around January and then Zion

Got hurt and then they just plummeted down the standings and were terrible and this year everybody was questioning them and how bad they were and is Zion a player and Z not a player now all a sudden they’re 26 24 and 16 and they won seven of their last 10 games so um

They’re just again there’re just it’s a roller coaster ride in the NBA there’s so many good teams and you know the Pacers they’ve won a whole bunch of games lately and their record is really good and so yeah it’s just it’s just the NBA is a hard League it’s hard hard to

Win a game and anyway I just want to get on and talk about the trade and could talk about what I don’t know what you think about trading for J jonte Murray and this piston trade I don’t know how much it’s not going to make any difference for this year I don’t think

You know the difference between I think B was better than wisman probably especially offensively but um we and again we’re keeping wisman so maybe we’ll end up having to need another trade maybe we’re going to trade Nick Claxton as a free agent but of course I

Don’t know how much money we’d want to give Nick Claxton when we have jayen durran but obviously we would need a backup center so anyway I just want to get on for a minute and tell you about the breaking news about the trade but be the reason that please subscribe and

Like be the reason that somebody feels cared for and go Pistons

Breaking news: Pistons trade Bagley, Livers, and a 25 & 26 2nd round picks for Gallinari and Muscala’s expiring contracts! Would the Pistons consider trading Ivey and more to get DeJounte Murray?

  1. Gave up two 2nd round picks for Bagley, gave him a contract, then gave up 2 picks to get out from under his contract. Fire Weaver

  2. Yea kind of sucks that we had to give up 2 picks but it does create space now are the pistons in works for a blockbuster???

  3. Some are mad that Weaver trade Bagley giving up 2 useless 2nd rd pick. I look at this way, Weaver made a mistake getting Bagley and resigning him to a bad contract. And now he is fixing that mistake. That's that people do.

  4. I've heard comments from another Pistons podcaster, that the Bulls are desperate to get off Lavine and maybe willing to get rid of him for expiring contracts. Now i don't want Lavine but if the Hawks are just as desperate to get rid of him fit little or nothing in all in. Plus there is plenty of time left to get deals done.

  5. Not a fan of this trade. Bagley is a nice back up center. Paying to get rid of him is a stretch. The only way it makes sense is if you have given up on Stewart being a 4 and want him to back up the 5 next year. That is probably a good idea. He can still back up the 4 a little bit and be the stretch 5 when you want the most shooting you can get in the game. We need a real deal starting 4 for next year. Still hoping to the heavens for Miles Bridges, Would like another one from the draft too as Miles can move to 3 as well. Would be great to get him and a young 4 who can shoot.

  6. This is a very positive move in my mind, mostly because of what is being subtracted. And though the guys we're getting might not be here long, it demonstrates that Weaver got the message that we need bigs who can shoot the 3.

  7. I don’t like a Murray trade. He’s a great player but he has attitude problems, and he will leave as fast as possible, we don’t need anymore heat in the locker room than we already do

  8. Troy got to go he just doing anything always trading players while at practice basically kicking them out no class

  9. Pistons have 64 million in cap next year so far bojan to knicks for Evan Fournier a second and our pick back we a be in amazing standard to trade and get two Stars

  10. This was a good cap move. The Pistins can be in the hunt for taking on a big contract via trade or in free agent.

  11. Ivey is a good player coach but he and Cade don't mix well. I ey needs the ball in hia hands. I compare Ivey to a D.Wade type. D.Wade needed rhe basketball in his hands when he was at his best. That's Ivey.
No way i give up Thompson, Stew, Cade, Sasser, Or Duren. All the other guys are easy to give up.

  12. Take a cue from other video channels and drop the clunky intro. Just start talking about the subject that you want to cover and show your passion. The beginning of your videos sound like the intro to a cable access channel.
