[Koreen] Just to get ahead of it, Pascal Siakam does not owe it to the Raptors to give them a list of teams he’d re-sign with or anything. He’s played his ass off his entire career, has done what he can to fit in with a change in role this year and helped them win a bloody title.

He’s not playing any defence right now, the rest of his time here 100% all give you that for the most part his effort was there every night.

These last 40 games? He’s not giving 100% of his effort, tbf I don’t entirely blame him either

  2. ZoroChopper10

Does koreen have any sources, I feel everything he says opinionated. Not that I disagree with what he saying

But he definitely bottom tier b writer to me

Atleast lewsberg and grange have actual sources lol

  3. Rakkuuuu

He doesn’t owe the team anything and the team doesn’t owe him anything. It’s a business and they both helped each other succeed.

  4. Icy-Lime-9760

So wait, now we’re supposed to pat players on the back for acting professional?

  5. DotCompetitive3326

Why would he want to try on defence. If you watch the game they don’t pass the ball to him. Or the coach even drawing any plays for in the crunch time. It’s evident that they want to move from him. He owns nothing to do this team now.

  6. mxgicjohnson

Both parties , FO and pascal are being petty

  7. BubblyPhilosophy3476

are these ppl fans of the team or siakam ?. raptors dont owe siakam anything as well. Masai really should have never let it get to this point. idc where we trade him as long as we get something decent in return

  8. passiveparrot

Guess he re-signing for the max with the raptors in the off season

then probably getting traded in year 2 after running it back with BBQ and not succeeding

  9. GawldDawlg

Ya he does owe it, he would have went undrafted in 2016

  10. motherseffinjones

I’m not blaming him for looking out for his interest over the team that’s trying to trade him. It just makes sense.

  11. TheNewKing2022

Pascal will sign with the team. If he wasn’t going to, the team gets the media to run non stop hit pieces against the player getting public sentiment for the team when he leaves. Remember all the shit against nurse the days after he left? It’s tried and true

  12. ketovegan

So if the Raptors pay Pascal the max 5th year in the offseason, what’s to stop him from mailing it in whenever talks of being traded come up next year? This guy has already proven that he will sabotage any trade that he doesn’t like. Imagine trying to trade someone with a max contract who becomes a supreme PITA about where he wants or doesn’t want to go.

He needs to be traded now.

Another capital L for Masai. How many is too much?

  14. Winter_Purpose8695

meh, stop being dramatic Koreen. Everyone will be fine..

  15. Appropriate_Art894

No but he owes to the fan base to at least make it so we don’t don’t get screwed completely

  16. Bholmes4

This is all on management. It’s not like he’s trying to force a trade, THEY agreed to this contract and he’s playing it out. I wish he wasn’t doing this but he’s doing nothing wrong.

Management on the other hand refused to trade him the past few years even though the writing was on the wall because they wanted to raise ticket prices, were trying to maximize return … Or whatever other reason they had. They were willing to risk injuries, regression and YES, this exact situation. Sorry, they wanted to play this game and now they might get burnt.

    That’s their fault, not his.

  17. BurzyGuerrero

Yup. No hate on Siakam for front office failures.

  18. Auriicus

Masai is gonna hit us with the “What does it mean to lose a player for nothing? Eh? We don’t believe in that, we believe in our players”

  19. ear2earTO

I look forward to Feb. 8th and not having to revisit this for another 2 years.

  20. jandali7

He got paid for it too. Fair from each side.

  21. skgantz19

Neither party owes anything to the other. Pascal is perfectly on his right to think he’s Max player, and the FO are perfectly within theirs to say he isn’t to them.

Get ready to accept a shit package from Dallas.

  22. TheRoninWasHere

He played his ass off? I mean majority of the time here nah. Couple of season yea. Just trade his ass man. Do not let this walk for free.

  23. Shmoo2TheMoo

PG only wanted to play in LA. Indiana turned him into Sabonis and Oladipo.

Mitchell supposedly only wanted to play for NY. Utah turned him into Markkanen, Sexton and 5 FRPs.

AD only wanted to play for LA and had 1 year of control. New Orleans still got a massive haul for him.

Mello was going to sign in NY one way or another, Masai himself exacted a huge return.

Good GMs with a sense of the market know how to leverage the 20 or so teams trying to win against each other and get it done. Hoping Masai still has the magic, if he doesn’t get it done that’s on him.

  24. ubiquitous_archer

Obviously he doesn’t and the raptors don’t owe sending him somewhere he wants to play, but it still fucking sucks

  25. timbitfordsucks

At this point I’m hoping he walks away for nothing so Masai and Bobby can learn their lesson the hard way and never fuck up like this ever again
