Damn Branham really is the worst in defender in the league. Doesn’t give enough anywhere else on the court either. He is still young but it hurts to watch sometimes. Hopefully he can improve.

I hate to be that guy but I’ve more or less given up on the idea of Malaki Branham as a rotational NBA player.

Yes I would happily put him in a deal for a PG. Murray, Tyus, anyone.

Everyone seems to argue over Jeremy’s future, whether Tre can be our future starter, and lots of other stuff, but it seems the one thing that the majority of the fanbase is agreeing on is that it may be time to give up on Malaki Branham.

Yeah it’s tough because Pop has been giving him less and less minutes clearly due to this defense issue. His offense doesn’t negate his defense struggles either. He doesn’t playmake well at all which makes him harder to put in line ups as he takes contested shots at the rim, inconsistent midrange and threes, or he takes too long to pass the ball and make a decision which imo is worse. I been saying Blake used to be miserable as well but his g league stint has done wonders for him. Branham can get great reps down there rather than only playing 10 mins a game. I would rather not give up on a 2nd year player but it’s clear he needs a lot of reps.

Sorry Brian Wright needs to go each of his draft picks have been horrendous to say the least. What were even his qualifications before he took on the top job at the Spurs I had never heard of the guy.
I don’t hold it heavily against him that he missed on Haliburton or Sengun but none of his picks even look like rotation players. And this guy is going to be picking the 15 or so future picks the Spurs have

Don’t understand the people giving up on him. He’s a 20 year old small guard playing on a young team with a bunch players still figuring out how to properly rotate. This isn’t the worst thing ever, giving up on the dude is just silly. Going up against starters for most of the year was never going to go well for him defensively. Yes he probably will never be a great defender, but he’s got the skills to be a good offensive player and with IQ and effort he can be better than what he is now in time.

I haven’t given up on him yet. These stats are noisy early in a prospects career
