I was kinda worried he might even get suspension for a game or twpo due to how aggresive he was both during ejection and then video presentation lol.

Also he kinda obstructed way (maybe even made some contact) to one of the Bucks players that was running to attack.

The confronting the official agressively? sure. But he was so damn respectful in the postgame, all he was doing was asking for clarification and pointing out inconsistent calls. He had video proof, he wasn’t just baselessly blaming the refs for the loss or yelling at how terrible they were.

What the hell is he supposed to do? If a coach can’t even have a civil conversation about officiating, and clearing up a misunderstanding what can you even do? NBA is treating the refs like cops with qualified immunity.

NBA doing a great job improving their reffing situation as usual: ignoring the problem and fining players or coaches who criticize them. Great stuff

Worth it for the birth of a great meme.

25k extra for the laptop on the table

    smhhhh

  6. ballgreens

That was a nice old-school ejection, done at the right moment and really impacting his players, nearly worked, but Dame.

  7. Mike Brown was also on the court and obstructed Pat Connaughton, who was running down the floor. What if Pat got injured from that? I understand the frustration from a coach but the situation could’ve been worse. He was appropriately fined, but I honestly could even see a suspension based on that (players have been suspended before for leaving the bench). That said, refs should be held accountable for their performance and influence on the game.

Edit: getting downvoted so I’m curious to understand what about my post is low quality or that others are finding disagreement with.

Who gonna gonna go for 75000? It has to combine darko, mike brown, and their own thing for the ultimate shit talking

  9. TheHonPhilipBanks

.maybe they can use all this extra money to hire better refs.

  10. cough_landing_on_you

So did they get back to him on the verticality rule?

  11. mapleaddicts

It’s crazy how NBA players can only be fined a max of $25k for criticizing officials but a coach making 5-10x less than star level NBA players can be fined double that lol

  12. PrimaryAccording9162

50k for asking for consistency lol

  13. Ok_Acanthaceae6057

3 times within a week, this isn’t an anomaly..

Jaylen Brown, Scottie Barnes now this. Either get better refs or train them better.

  14. Eespinoza10

Worth it, silver needs to grow a pair and handle this ref shit quickly, refs are in some real sport betting shit

If it were Lebron do you think instead of a fine they’d issue a public apology about losing sleep

  16. Aethersaurus-Rex

Consider it a badge of honor. Mike Brown looks out for his players.

  17. The fines will continue until ref approval rating goes up

  18. This is revenge for Joe Dumars’ failed coup of the Kings front office.

  19. For those that didn’t see, Brown was on the court and collided with Pat Connaughton; hence, the extra fine

  20. mr_suavecito

Toronto’s coach said the league is rigged by Mike Brown for double the fine money??? NBA is wild as hell for that

Just to be clear, I’m glad the Raptors’ coach said what he said. He was spot on (for the most part)

  21. SuperDoubleDecker

NBA backing their refs to preserve the integrity of online gambling.

  22. Sad-Mathematician-19

Imagine being fined 50k for calling out the obvious BULLSHIT that Silver lets slide and happen on the daily in this league. Embarrassing. How about fining these refs for these absolutely hot dog water level calls they keep making almost every game?

  23. loscarlos

Where do I contribute 1 dollar for The People’s fine

  24. Platinum-Peasant22

The NBA is mad that Brown brought receipts to the post game presser and blatantly pointed out how trash the refs are.

  25. Desperado-781

A coach shud put an official in a headlock. Its only 15 games

  26. motherseffinjones

I get the 25 for running on the court but the 25 for the laptop I don’t feel is fair. Bro just brought out the receipts is all lmao I’m joking just a fyi

  27. PositionOk8409

I get $25k for confronting the ref on the court.

How is that another $25k in the post game presser. He made all valid points without even being disrespectful or questioning the integrity of the referees

  28. timbitfordsucks

Organizations should pay these fines and match it with a donation to their respective cities’ charities. Send a message.

  29. Wapow217

I love the NBA’s idea of fixing the issue. Fine the players and coaches who criticized the refs for doing a shitty job. The same players and coaches that get criticized daily for doing a shitty job

At least invest the fine into getting better refs, but no.

  30. gregbraaa

I thought the post game was handled with class. The NBA couldn’t stand by after he busted out the laptop.

  31. next_door_nicotine

Set up a gofundme I got tree fiddy to chip in

  32. Funyarinpa-13

Fined for sending da video… 😭

  33. Loud_Examination_138

Wow, that sucks if he got fined for going in depth with the laptop. That was awesome and much needed. Should be allowed

  34. ILikeTuwtles91

Does every coach need to get fined before the league offices take these complaints about officiating seriously?
