Honestly kind of crazy to me at this point. Offensively, he is almost statistically identical to Kuzma at this point:
Kuzma 22.4/6.3/4.2 on 46/35/79 shooting
Siakam 22.2/6.3/4.9 on 52/32/76 shooting
Siakam is better than Kuz defensively but it really isn’t by a large margin. Siakam has a better resume (more sustained success, all nba teams etc) but I really don’t think he’s significantly better than Kuz.
Throw in the fact that Kuz is younger and on a team friendly deal, while Siakam is expiring and wants a max.. idk man. He’ll be making $50m AAV while Kuz will be making 19-23m AAV… I just don’t think Siakam is *that* guy.

The games are miserable to go to otherwise and he’s important to us doing this without building a loser’s culture. 1RP have become kinda overrated as a trade asset—only one of our first round picks (which are all lottery!) has had star potential in the last decade, and if Bilal doesn’t make it then we are back to Beal as our last draft pick that really hit in a franchise altering way.
