  1. The scariest part about the Pacers is they still have assets to make another move or 2, plus Pascal has made it clear he wants to play with Hali and intends to sign an extension with Indy. Not sure another big move will happen for them before the deadline this year, and if that’s the case, I think the Pacers ceiling is the ECF…. although even that will be tough for such a young team that still lacks much defense outside of Pascal. But if they can maintain their young core and make another big move or 2 for good defenders who can at least shoot even if they aren’t great offensively, that’s what it will take for Indy to take the next step and really be able to contend with anyone including Boston in the East. Indy is gonna be scary next season if they continue making good moves like this. They are starting to look like the OKC of the East.

  2. I remember you did a video short on your old "The Starters" Instagram account, where all the four guys (Skeets, Kerby, Melas, Ellis) danced around in a circle, cheering in joy of Raptor's first championship. Will never forget that moment.

  3. Bruce Brown is a perpetually underrated dude. Yes, Siakam is better but drastically better? I feel like Siakam may be a bit overrated. If he truly was All-NBA I feel like the Raptors would be better. Both Brown and Siakam are 3rd-4th guys on a championship roster. Will be interesting to see what happens with this trade!

  4. I thought that Raptors blew it by not trading him last year because you could get more then (in a good draft class) than this year for a rental.
So considering the latter, getting three 1st and a coveted playoff performer who could fetch you another first is pretty good deal.
This is a good deal for Indiana only if they resign Siakam. If they don't it's an F. Not sure the Pacers high movement offence is the best fit for Siakams laborious, slow ISOs but it might pay off in playoffs where the pace drops and halfcourt offense dominate. He'll help the defense a bit but it'll still be bad.

  5. Still have time to trade Trent and brown for another piece too Murray Collins?…..will there still b trade hype for Massi or what? Enough picks to trade for Markkanen??

  6. I have 3 jerseys of Siakam and I’ve always wanted to meet him I guess I can’t no more 😒

  7. Tas is one foot out the door, I know he had a car level him and he was gone for a bit with that, but he will bounce the first β€œgood opportunity” he sees

  8. With where the Raptors were in this position with Siakim. The return is not bad. The sour taste in the mouth is because we could have had better returns if traded earlier.

  9. TRUST ME PASCAL IS A STEEL FOR THE PACERS …. THIS GUY CAN GIVE YOU MORE THAN WHAT EVERYONE THINKS …

  10. Can Bruce Brown be flipped in another trade? I can see some teams looking for this type of player on a competing roster

  11. I was hoping to see Klay getting traded to the Raptors for Pascal i think the Warriors needed him more and Raptors could get more if Klay didn't wanna stay at Toronto

  12. @5:05 its safe to disregard the regular season "top 3" seeds as being truly better than Miami. 2 finals appearances in the last 4 years, yet Philly consistently "finishes higher" in the reg and doesn't once get past R2.

  13. Raptors are stupid. They have young pieces in Quickly and Barret so with a reliable veteran like Pascal, this team could've been special.

They were already doing better after the NY trade so this made zero sense. Just pay the man shit its not like you have other people to pay

  14. And let's be honest – Siakam didn't want to accept a max – I believe he was digging in for a Super Max. I'm excited for what's next.

  15. Great siakam is gone. He is not good in the playoffs. He doesn’t play well when you need a player to score. He is not clutch. Pacers will find out in the playoffs.

  16. Also Lowry was my no means what he was later in his Raptors career when they first traded for him. He'd bounced around before finding a niche in Toronto.

  17. If the raps and bulls get good again this podcast should just transition to a weird specialty pod of those two teams plus all their normal wacky shit. The analysis and interest seems much much more dialed in and just interesting. Touching on 32 teams daily starts to feel super surface level if you listen for a bit to this show. Excellent show as is with all the wacky shit though, obviously.

  18. Will say, pacers traditionally draft pretty well so 3 picks for them is more valuable than the avg pick around the league

  19. congrats! now, lets wait for Lavine and next year you guys can play the "nut-dust"(?) bowl with your favourite teams! 😭

  20. I feel like Miami is not that top 3 in the east in record alone. Only team I would pick to beat them is the Celtics.

  21. Extremely sad day for Raptors fans.
Pascal will always be beloved in Toronto.
Nothing but a ton of love and respect for all he did for us.
Forever our champion! One of the greatest Raptors of all time.
I hope he shines in Indy.

  22. Also I liked how you mentioned about Siakam's fit witht he team. If this raptors team had someone worse at PF, would they trade a for a veteran PF to improve the team to bring it to .500?
Makes you think, as an outsider it feels liks he was fine there. The team just needed more time

  23. There is a chance that the Poeltl pick is worse than the ones they get. It's top 6 protected for a couple of years and then gets turned into a second if the pick does not drop below 7. Realistically the PA's could be picking in the top 6 for a couple of years.
