Hey just wanted to give my perspective as a Raptors fan on what you guys are getting in Siakam. He has been carrying the Raptors offence the past several years with very crowded spacing where he is driving into 5 defenders and still scoring. His ability to wiggle through space, stretch out and score at the rim is unlike any other player in the league which makes him a very tough cover for most teams. He is also a very good mid range shooter, and an above average defender. Even though his 3 point shooting isn’t amazing he can still space the floor and knock em down, especially from the corners. We really did not build a good team around him in Toronto and so I think he is undervalued by a lot of fans around the league. With the Pacers’ spacing and with Haliburton diming him up, his efficiency should improve. Also he’s just a hard worker overall, first guy in the gym, last guy out. I also think he will re-sign given that he’s not the type of guy who craves a big market team, he just wants to win. I will definitely be tuning into a lot more Pacers games in the future, you guys are a lot closer to contenders now after this trade!

Current Pacer and a future Pacer in one picture 👀
We are all very excited
Dude is a good player, but a lot of future equity was given up for a guy that has said he wants to test free agency after the season. If he doesn’t resign, this will be a colossal blunder for a team that has been making big strides to become a future contender. This could backfire on them in a big way.
Edit: It’s been pointed out to me that he would be willing to re-sign so my point is moot.
First of all, congrats Pacers fans. Second of all, I’m a raptors fan who has a YouTube channel where I do live streaming about basketball generally with a Toronto slant. A part of what I do is have conversation with any and everyone who’s down to chat about ball. Are there any pacers content creators you guys know of kinda do similar stuff? I’d love to collab with someone about this trade.
If not, would any of you guys be interested in having a chat?
I also think Siakam will really help Benn with his development. Driving the paint, into defenders, creating tough shots, taking contact, drawing fouls. There’s some similarities there with Benn’s game.
Former Raptors fan here.
You got a good one in Pascal, and ripped off our front office hardcore.
I will be rooting for you guys. Pascal makes you guys a legitimate threat.
Take care of our boy.
He was really the leader for Raps, FVV pretended to be the leader of the squad, but it was him the way he carried himself. You guys have got a good one and i hope to see him in playoffs very deep.
Long time Raptors fan. Pascal is now your best defender and best scorer. When hes locked in he can guard all 5 pos.
Take good care of him. Go Pacers.
You can hear this picture
This trade is addition by subtration for Toronto.
You guys got the 2 best players in Pascal and Siakam, please honor them both and understand the burden your fanbase carries of acknowlidng both Pascal and Siakam for the amazing, high energy, team ball playing, one of the quietest 20+ppg guys in the league, where you’ll be watching and know he’s been doing solid then check the box score and see wtf he already has 20 points. I’m really excited to see the dynamics between him and Hali and am glad he’s happy with where he landed and wants to play with Hali, and raises your ceiling to real contenders and has a shot at another chip. Take care of our boys Pascal and Siakam
Siakam will be a 26/6/9 player next season and make the All-NBA team again…he’s never had spacing as a primary option on the Raptors, he’s one of the most doubled players in the NBA, and he has had to fight for every bucket he gets…he now has players around him to help him out and PG who can play make
I’m going to miss him but I think he’s going to get the respect he deserves on the Pacers and the American media are going to go from “Ya, he’s pretty good” to “Siakam is a top 15 player in the NBA without question” a season from now…I truly believe that
Anyway, I’ll be rooting for you guy in the playoffs this season! go win a chip!
Biggest plus in my book is looking over at your forum and seeing how absolutely believed the guy is in Toronto. Tells me everything I need to know.
My biggest concern has been can be help is with our push to play better D, I’m happy to hear that he’s no slouch there.
I think this will be good for him as he’s got a young PG to play with who loves to distribute & sets guys up to succeed. This should help his career as he moves into his 30s as I see it.
