I want Steph to come home and join Melon in the backcourt, not trading our 22 year old superstar and four firsts for a 35 year old who will probably play 5 more years *max*.
Steph doesn’t immediately make this a playoff team if we swap him for Melo, and then trading four firsts that will be valuable at this rate would be a terrible trade for us.
That said, if our core of Melo, Miller, Mark, and maybe Miles can progress into a core that can contend in the future, I’m not against trading future firsts for a superstar that can put us over the edge, a la Indiana pulling the Siakam trade
I mean Warriors probably say yes, they have some good youth Melo could be enough talent for them to commit to their younger timeline.
I can see how Charlotte might say yes, if they wanted to get ticket sales for a couple years but ultimately it’d be a waste of the last few years. I wouldn’t do it but I get it
