Forcing turnovers was supposed to be a priority for the Bucks’ defense this year, and the bar for improvement was pretty low considering they were dead last in that category a year ago (11.6%). And yet after making it a priority they are now…well, once again dead last (11.5%).

Pretty sure AG only knows this style of defense and that might be a problem

recent podcast by frank madden and others pointed this out and for all the screaming about the coach this to me is amongst the real reasons for concern and a reason to point to the coach. this is suppose to allow more turnovers by pressing/up higher but it has left us vulnerable to teams just blowing by our perimeter defense. so we r not getting turnovers, dont have the personnel, and r allowing unprecedented scoring in the paint….. and yet we continue to do so… so is the coach sticking to a plan which works on paper but not in reality, planning for improvement, or waiting better horses to make this work?

Even last year we were losing a lot of youth in the starting lineup. Grayson Allen was our best hustle defender last year and Wes but both are fine with Jrue not here to man we are lucky we are not lower. We play with faster pace and more possessions so it hurts us more when we play against fast teams like the Pacers.

It’s almost like these guys are too old for aggressive defense. The lack of recognition of that (as far as we’ve seen in games anyway) by AG is more than a little concerning. Dude just will not admit his desired approach won’t work with the roster he has. We just canned a coach for lack of adjustments. AG may be the Bucks’ Ray Rhodes.

This defense feels like the first few years when a college football team switches from pounding the rock for 3 yards and a cloud of dust to the Air Raid. You can put that system in place but it takes 2-3 years to get that style of player onto your team. First few years looks clunky as hell. AG’s scheme may have worked with the players on the Raptors, but not with this crew. Total mismatch between what he wants to do and the players he has to execute it. If he can’t realize that this far into the season then he’s too dumb or too stubborn to coach the Bucks.
