Fuck man I wish there was a way we couldโ€™ve kept him

  2. Cheechers23

I wonder who the first Raptor for life will be. DeMar thought it would be him, Pascal thought it would be him. The hope now I guess is that it will be Scottie.

  3. SirDuke6

Look, Im a casual fan so forgive any ignorance but didnt he turn down a relatively large contract offer from the Raps because he wanted to test FA/get a supermax?

I know Pascal is a Raptor Legend and everything but it kinda seems disingenuous to make a statement saying “I never asked for a trade” and put the blame on the Raptors FO when he had the chance to spend his whole career on one team.

Edit: Some taking this as “I cant believe Spicy P left for more money.” Idgaf about him leaving for more money, get your money where you can. Just be genuine about it lol.

I love pascal but it’s also good to move on for him as well

And he was in contact with halliburton they all were coordinating

Nothing wrong with it, people move jobs and cities all the time, even us regular non star athletes might not want to change jobs or companies but sometimes it works out too

    Such is life ๐Ÿ˜‚

He will do great in Indiana

  5. nanobot001

    > I never asked for a trade

No, but you asked for something Masai was never going to give.

In the end, itโ€™s just a business, but Pascal made his choices too.

  6. dillybomb420

If the Covid shut down doesnโ€™t happen, I truly believe this was the path and that breaks my heart. I love Pascal..

  7. Ok-Background-502

I firmly believe distance to GTA was a factor for him preferring Indiana. He seems like such a family man who loves the diversity here.

  8. Barnicus57

He basically asked for a trade by turning down their extension offer.

  9. SubstantialBody6611

โ€ฆBUT- Masai said he knew Pascal BETTER than anyone and they had such a good relationship!!

  10. Thealk3mist

Dude this is the second guy thatโ€™s said this about Masai. Really bad look man.

  11. Huge-Split6250

    Oh the pathos!ย ย

ย He was given the opportunity with Fred and OG and then Jakob. The team stunk. He wasnโ€™t about to take a discounted extension and publicly stated he wants to test free agency, so I donโ€™t completely buy his lifelong dedication and commitment.ย

ย Iโ€™m sure he wouldโ€™ve stayed if we paid him the most and we all wouldโ€™ve loved that. But for that to happen the team wouldโ€™ve had to be good, and itโ€™s not.ย He was a leader on the team and the beat and highest paid player, so he bears his share of responsibility.ย

ย I love the guy but Iโ€™m over the histrionics.ย

  12. Icy-Lime-9760

I love Pascal and wish him nothing but success moving forward, but the Raptors made the right business decision.

  13. kaiyoukhan

You never asked for a trade but you on the phone with your side chick in Indiana doing some tampering

  14. PorousSurface

I kinda wish it we kept him and he didnt take a max :/

  15. Gambit_Toronto

He wanted to test free agency lol

    He’s full of it

  16. aquaman1417

Yeah it sucks, feels just like Lowry, but these guys, with DeMar, are cemented raptors legends for life. I’m sure it’s not easy for Masai either, and for sure they will keep in touch.

  17. willreadfile13

You could have, but insisted on testing free agency and not accepting a team friendly contract, looking for that super max bag. Love pascal and wish he wouldโ€™ve taken a long term friendly deal to keep him around as our guy thru his career, but no chance thatโ€™s happening with success as a super maxed second or third option.

  18. ZenMon88

sad it didnt work out. lets move forward. All the best pascal!

  19. trialanderror93

It’ll most likely be a bench player, never a star,

The raptors being located in Canada. Give it some inherent disadvantages in that respect

  20. brolybackshots

He gona be the 3rd jersey in the rafters after Lowry and DeRozan.

Spicy would’ve been the GROAT if we kept him for his career

  21. MyrtleGordon

When is this quote from??? ๐ŸŒถ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

  22. riprapnolan3

Is there a way we re-sign him in the offseason?

  23. buelerer

Definitely naive. If he really wanted to stay he should have asked for less money. Raptors never would have traded him if he was making $15 million a season.ย

  24. 2Shizo2flow

Just as DeRozan and Lowry, Siakam will be a lifer in all of our hearts.

ย  His smile and laugh communicated suchย joy.ย  His contribution was huge.
    What a good person.

  27. RemarkableActions

Then dont turn down a contract offer
