[Begley] Burks is a trade target for New York as the club looks to bolster its bench. Burks was a key player on the Knicks’ 2020-21 team that finished fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Are we allowed to package Precious & Flynn in a trade or at least bypass the rules somehow?

He’d replace Grimes? Is that an upgrade?

Lmao who saw that Reddit post that said it takes two firsts for burks 😂😂😂😂😂

Gordon Hayward could get a buyout, maybe we go trade for a pg on the bench and then sign a buyout ?

I think if you can get Burks for the Precious/Flynn money and Brogdon for the Fournier money, you pull the trigger. Maybe 2 2nds for Burks and the lowest value 1st for Brogdon.

There is a grand total of one bench player Thibs trusts right now in Hart. It’ll be two when Mitch comes back. They need two more players I think.

Hayes and Burks for Fournier works in the trade machine

Hayes is expiry so you can just let him go. I don’t know if the Pistons want to keep him but he is absolutely terrible and probably shouldn’t be in the league.

I hate it, but if it comes along with an additional move for an actual ball handler which means Burks is truly an off ball SG for the bench, I can stomach it.

  8. As a plan C/D if the better bench guards aren’t available at a reasonable price I would say Burks for a pair of second rounders is not that bad of a fall back just to add something to a bench that needs at least one more piece. But it would really be nothing more than a better than nothing at a cheap cost type move.

Burks as a player and a vet (who played well in playoffs for us) is a great fit, it’s just that he is an expiring contract right? I thought part of the strategy was to bring in contracts that can be used over the summer in trades.

  10. Damn it seems they are really focused on Burks and Brown which would both be really bad moves. Burks makes no sense because it obviously wouldn’t be much of a win now move but at the same time would take minutes away from a younger player we can still develop. We need a point guard and we’ve seen what happens when we tried Burks in that role

I don’t see how this trade would occur. Fournier would go to Detroit but in order to match salaries Detroit would need to send another player to the Knicks with Burks. I don’t see a player that detroit would give up in addition to Burks.

I feel like people don’t remember how unwatchable Burks was towards the end of his time here. He was such a black hole playing PG. Can’t run an offense very well. He’s not a playmaker for others whatsoever. Do not bring him back

I’d be interested if we don’t have to give up the Fournier contract to do it. We can get him by only giving up Flynn and Precious but it’s complicated

Love it as long as he’s not playing PG and he’s not too expensive.

Burks is like a smaller Randle, you’re either getting Alec Bucks or Alec Bricks on any given night

  16. Fitz-magic1

Dang we about to send Grimes to the Pistons lol

Ayo that’s my boy. Fuck point Burks but my man can fuck with shit. Gimme AB back and let him run the offense off that bench

  18. ObviousAnswerGuy

Burks has fallen off HARD and is absolute trash lol. This would be a HORRIBLE move for us

  19. vllVaLllv

I want no parts of this, all I’m getting is flashbacks of burks as pg
