Chatted with Chris Finch earlier today. He said 1 thing he should have added to his postgame remarks was an acknowledgment of KAT’s historic night. Said he was caught up in the emotion of the loss, and he didn’t get back to it like he intended. Called it an incredible performance

Comes off better the next day honestly because it comes off as an after thought, which it should be when you lose.
I know a lot of people seemed to dislike how Finch handled the post-game, but I thought it was exactly what I would want my head coach to say.
Finch was exactly right in the postgame and echoed exactly what I was thinking at the time.
I have absolutely no problem with how Finch approached the post game commentary.
He had every right to be furious. KAT’s milestone was a distraction from winning – I’m sure I read something that our players were asking for Embiid updates and were openly discussing getting KAT the ball so he could beat Joel.
Charlotte could tell that was what we were doing and immediately double teamed him, which led to sloppy turnovers and poor shot selections.
Definitely takes away from the night for KAT, but I’m sure he understands that. It’s a team sport in the end.
Thought his initial response was appropriate given how gross it felt to lose that one. Exactly what fans would want to hear imo. Coming back the next day and showing Kat some love on the Historic night when he actually means it is even better. I was at the game on Monday and you could visually see Finch’s body language was telling the team to stop feeding Kat. The team goin for it made sense how electric that first half was. KAT was on fire. But there were so many lead come backs even by the third where it was clear we needed to play our style of ball, but just kept going till Kat was just running into walls. Ant not scoring, Mike not there facilitating was so glaring. We were only in that game because our players are just better than the Hornets currently. Hornets made some great shots towards the end. Not putting it away before the end of the third quarter was disappointing as hell. Especially after dropping $250 at the team store @halftime. Felt like a asshole walking out the stadium with three bags full of wolves Merch. I’m back tonight cause I need the win.
