Legitimately feel bad for any of you that didn’t get to watch Penny before he hurt his knee. He was something to behold. Explosive speed, could shoot from anywhere, dunk, or no look pass.

And I have nothing but immense love for TMAC, but Penny would have been the next Jordan I’m convinced had he not got hurt.

Little Penny would whoop both of them to be honest

I feel the same. Everything he did was so effortless.

In year three Penny was averaging 21/7/4. He’s Jayson Tatum’s size but he was really an oversized PG. He’d be a terror in today’s NBA, could switch one through four and slash to the room as well as Ja Morant (decent at midrange, never developed a 3-ball but that was normal back then).

He was a unique player and the perfect 1B for young, slim Shaq. There’s some timeline where we didn’t lowball Shaq and he stays, Penny never gets hurt, and we win three titles with them as our core.

Penny was great. He wasn’t enough of a scorer to really hit that MJ echelon of celebrity, I don’t think, but then again, he was really damn popular for a minute there while paired with Shaq and Lil Penny.
