Is 1v1 for this large amount of money becoming a norm now?

I dont know I felt like no matter how confident you are in basketball, there is no way both parties agree to spend this large amount of money… If one party offers that much then the other party has to be at a disadvantage with no doubt.. the fact they both parties agree for a bet without even playing eachother seems kinda off to me I wannna hear u guys thoughts or experiences
