The New Look Knicks are on FIRE…

Yo what’s going on y’all it’s con back here again today with another video and today I want to talk for a little bit about the New York Knicks I don’t think I’ve made a standalone video on the Knicks this entire season and we’re halfway through the year it’s been way

Overdue the only time I’ve talked about them in depth was when I covered the ojan noobi trade and since that video they’ve been one of the hottest teams in the league they’re a game back of the four SE in the Eastern Conference they look phenomenal and a lot of what

They’re doing now was built off the foundation of what they set up last year last season was one of their most successful years in a long time start off by getting Jaylen Brunson in the offseason their big acquisition and I’ll be honest I didn’t love this signing I

Didn’t hate it necessarily but I felt like there was a bit of an overpay for a guy who had never been an Allstar and it felt like he could maybe get up to that point in New York but it was a little bit of a risk to throw that much money

At Jaylen Brunson who had had some great Seasons great playoff runs but nothing super sustained and then he turned into an Allstar caliber player he didn’t make the team but he was very easily of that caliber and probably should have been on the team if we’re being honest he was

The best player on a Knicks team that made it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in a while he was fantastic their best player in the playoffs as well Julius mirand was really good throughout the regular season shaky in the playoffs which has

Become typical for him but overall was their second best player and all all NBA caliber guy great play from like Mitchell Robinson especially on the boards Emanuel quickly finished second in six minut of the Year voting some good moments from RJ Barrett specifically in the playoffs Josh Hart fantastic acquisition at the deadline

They were a great team and coming into this season they didn’t change up too much but it felt like there was room for internal growth their one big acquisition was adding Dante dvan chenzo felt like he could slide in great as a backup Wing they also had now a full

Year of Josh Hart on the team he was a big factor for them last season they were going to have a second year now of Jaylen Brunson and Julius Randle as a Duo felt like they could build some more chemistry and just play better as a tandem you also could maybe have growth

From young guys like Emanuel quickley RJ Barrett Quint Grimes amongst others it seemed like it would probably be another pretty good year for the Knicks didn’t start off the best they began two and four mainly because Julius R was awful like historically bad one of the worst

Beginnings to a season we’ve ever seen never mind from a guy who’s typically an All-Star all NBA guy we’ve seen some up and down Seasons from Randle so I felt like maybe this was going to be one of those but they did pick it up a lot of

That was because joce Randle stopped playing historically bad but Jay Brunson was amazing some of the role players stepped up they ended up trading some wins and losses back and forth before losing to the Orlando Magic on December 29th a team that they were fighting for seeding against falling to a record of

17 and 14 good for seventh in the Easter conference they just weren’t as good as I was hoping they would be they weren’t bad and there was still plenty of time to play they were right behind some of the teams ahead of them but I just expected a little bit better from the

Knicks in the beginning of the Season it felt like they needed a little bit of a shakeup and that shakeup came literally the next day when they went ahead and traded Emanuel quickly and RJ Barrett for OG anobi as well as precious auua in a Move That Shook the league it was the

First big trade of the season I guess outside the James Harden deal the first big one in a while and since that trade they’ve been one of the best teams in the the NBA it started off in the first game with ojen anobi they beat the Minnesota timberl who have the best

Record in the Western Conference and have went 9-2 over their 11 games since the deal that’s tied for the best record over that stretch with Cleveland and the Clippers which by the way I need to make a Cavs video at some point soon that’s another one that’s definitely coming

Down the pipeline and both the losses that they’ve suffered over this stretch were by Just Four Points one to the Mavericks where they were down huge and almost managed to come back in the fourth quarter before eventually Kyrie Irving put them to sleep and then the other one was to the Orlando Magic

Without Jaylen Brunson so that one doesn’t count as much just a couple losses and they were really close ones they’ve been dominant in pretty much all their other games a lot of their wins have been by substantial margins they beat the BS by 16 points Sixers by 36 Wizards by 16

Points 28 against the Blazers 12 against the Grizzlies 15o win over the Houston Rockets 26o win over the Raptors last night they’re not just beating most of the teams they are destroying teams and when they lose they’re hardly losing the Knicks have been one of the most

Unstoppable teams in the NBA ever since Ojon and noi suited up in New York the biggest reason for their success has been the defense they were a pretty shaky defensive team before ojen and noi got there they were just 18th ranked in the league but since he got there

They’ve moved up to a top 10 defense and over that course of the 11 games that they played with him in the uniform they have the best defense in the league or tied for it with again the Cleveland Cavaliers those two teams always seem to be linked and this is with Mitchell

Robinson hurt like he is the anchor of that team huge for them defensively hasn’t even been in the lineup and they still found ways to lock down defensively mainly because of the addition of ojen anobi the team’s defense has been so much better since he’s gotten there and he individually

Has been fantastic 14.9 points per game 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists with 1.2 steals while shooting 50490 and giving them 36.7 minutes a night I know we like to talk about how Tom timido loves to play his Stars a lot of minutes ojin noi has been a war course since he got to

New York they rely on him to be the Lynch pin in their perimeter defense even sometimes their interior defense they ask a lot out of him as that just huge defensive piece for them and he stepped up to the table giving them a really efficient 15 points per game too

He’s doing exactly what you want from him if you are a New York Knicks fan this is what you’ve been looking for he’s super critical oftentimes guarding the opposing team’s best player providing that lockd down Wing defense they’re looking for for years from a guy like RJ Barrett for example who did it

At times he was very Hit or Miss now with OG every single night they can count on that and it’s helped them raise their defense up substantially but of course their success isn’t just courtesy of ojan anobi a lot of other guys have contributed and the biggest reason for

Their success this season has been Jay Bronson the guy that I thought got overpaid is now in one of the best value contracts in the entire league he’s having the best season of his career might even be an All-Star starter and hey he’s even making a case to be an all

NBA player this season putting up 26 and a half points per game 3.9 rebounds and 6.5 dimes to go with one steel while shooting 47.5% from the field and 42.7% from Deep he lights out from the three-point line he’s the Third best shooter in the NBA amongst all players

Shooting at least six threes a game his three-point percentage is only behind Malik Beasley and CJ MCCC he’s up this three-point percentage a full percentage Point while shooting about two more threes a game he’s one of the best volume three-point Shooters in the entire league and if you watch him the

First few years of his career you never would have guessed that he’s one of only five players averaging 26 plus points per game and six plus assists the 12th leading score overall in the NBA he is a force I never would have guessed that he

Was going to be this good with the New York Knicks has completely proven me wrong I’ve said that multiple times on this channel and I’m happy he has because watching his success has been amazing signing him to that contract was one of the best decisions the Knicks

Have made in a really really long time if we just take a look at his basketball index page you can see how truly insane he is as a player you can see his overall shot quality is an F which means he takes some of the most difficult

Shots in the entire league yet most of the time doesn’t matter A+ shot making a plus overall shot creation a plus overall shooting Talent a an off ball shot Mak a in self created shot making if we take a look at his isolation stats he’s also got those on loock Amazing mid-range

Shooter great floater again shot quality isn’t good and if we go to the threes again shot quality pretty bad yet his three-point percentage is in the a tier A+ and shot making a shot creation he is a menace from everywhere on the court scoring the basketball really the only

Place he struggles is when it comes to the restricted area he is really rough finishing this season but he’s a smaller guard and most of his shots don’t come from that area so I’m not going to ding him on that too much because overall he

Has been one of the best scores in the entire league this season which again never would have guessed when they signed into that big contract a couple off seasons ago last night against the Raptors had 385 and n and the night before in a close one over the Wizards

He put up 41 points eight rebounds eight assists and two steals doing everything for that team and that’s pretty much been the case this entire season one of the best stories in the NBA over the past couple of years going from hey everyone thinks you’re overpaid to one

Of the best value contracts in the league and a guy that is in all NBA also starter talks alongside him of course you have his co-star in Julius Randall who is one of the most confusing players in the entire league like I said start off with one of the worst statistical

Beginnings to an NBA season ever but he’s turned things around to have a pretty solid season so far 24.1 points per game 9.3 rebounds and 4.9 dimes he’s shooting 47.2% from the field just 30% from three you definitely want to see that three-point percentage come up and

It’s been better pretty much every other season of his career so I think eventually it will come around as time goes on a little bit of that number is also lingering from his hor ific start which again was historically bad so you got to give the numbers a bit of time to

End up evening themselves out but overall he’s been really good this season particularly when it comes to that paint restricted area that Jay Brunson struggles in a little bit he is one of the best scorers in the league in that area he’s a monster on the interior

And his ability to attack downhill and basically bully anybody out of the way going to the basket combined with Jay brunson’s ability to attack you on the perimeter is a great dichotomy it’s great to have stars that can dominate you in two different ways and they work

Really well as a tandem Beyond Brun Rand and anobi a lot of other guys have contributed in huge ways d d chenzo their big pickup in the off season has been great 11.2 points for game giving you a steal while shooting 42.5% from Deep really sty defense as well has

Started a lot of the season for them he’s been a fantastic pickup and fits the scheme really really well as a guy that just consistently knocks down outside shots doesn’t need the ball in his hands plays perfectly next to Jaylen Brunson and Julius Rand Isaiah hartstein

Has been great for them all season but particularly ever since Mitchell Robinson went down with injury he slotted into the starting lineup and giving you a lot of what Mitchell Robinson does since he became a starter 7.4 points per game 11.7 boards 2.9 assists 1.6 Steals and 1.4 blocks been

Incredible dominating the boards like Mitchell Robertson typically does this team’s big strength is rebounding they’re the best rebounding team in the league and iHeart has stepped up and picked up a lot of the slack in the absence of Robinson who is typically one of their best rebounders I do still

Think they need him back to make a deep playoff run the reports are that he can hopefully be back by some point before the playoffs but for the moment ihart is is holding down the fort in this game he did end up spraining his ankle so we’ll

Have to see if he misses some time hopefully that’s not the case because he’s been playing amazing but even if he does they do still have like Precious auua who they picked up in the trade not the best option to have as a big man

Although he’s had a good start as a Nick had 18 and 11 actually last night against his former team in Toronto so maybe he can step up and play perfectly fine in the absence but hopefully hartstein doesn’t have to miss any time and that Mitchell Robinson can return

Soon so the Knicks can continue their rebound dominating ways Clinton Grimes has had an up and down season with his role but is shooting 38% from Deep seems like he may be a trade Target for the Knicks to send out to pick someone else up Josh Hart’s been great as an energy

Guy miles McBride has given them some solid moments all around the team’s just been very very solid so far this season they’ve become a top 10 offense and top 10 defense especially dominant defensively since the ojan anobi trade this team is very well-rounded and they look better than they did last season at

This point now do I think their Championship contenders no I do think they’re probably still a piece or two away but there’s still plenty of time this Knicks team has their top guys is locked up under contract assuming ojen noobi does resign which his like agent

Is the son of someone who works in the Nicks front office or there’s some type of connection there and he said he wants to resign so I do think he will be back and if that’s the case you’ve got Jay Brunson Julius Randle ojen anobi this

Main Core group of guys locked up long term plus there are a lot of different ways they could go with this trade deadline and even heading into the off season they’ve got Evan for’s big contract and Quinton Grimes who again his role has been kind of inconsistent

This season I wouldn’t be surprised if he got traded and and I think he’s got some good value around the league he’s still really young has shown a ton of flashes at times as a 3 andd player and hey if you put him in a new situation think he could be really really

Effective so they’ve got those guys they have a bunch of first round draft picks still they didn’t have to give up much draft Capital at all in the ojen anobi trade this a team that feels poised and ready to make that big trade when it comes around is it going to happen to

The deadline no I think probably not there’s rumors that are like interested in dejon Murray for example among some other guys I don’t think they make a big trade at the deadline I think they just add a couple supporting pieces is maybe just one like they did with the Josh

Hart trade they head to the playoffs probably make it to the second round look really good in the process they’re not a championship Contender but in the offseason keep an eye out because the next time a bigname star requests out the Knicks have an amazing trade package

To offer and with The Supporting Cast they’re going to put around that star immediately the Knicks will quickly become one of the scarier teams in the league it may not happen this summer maybe it doesn’t happen till this next trade deadline not this year but the one

Following but at some point soon the Knicks are going to make that big trade and it’s going to be one that really shakes the lead for the moment though shout out to the Knicks they’ve been really good so far this season let me know how far you think they can go in

The playoffs Down Below in the comments do you think they’re first round exit second round exit do you think they could make a sneaky run to the Eastern Conference Finals if they end up getting the right matchup and let me know what you think about the oji trade how have

You liked this team since they picked up OG do you think he’s going to resign with this team do you think Jaylen Brunson could be the best player on a championship team I know that was a whole huge argument thing for weeks on NBA Twitter not too long ago so would

Love to hear your thoughts but yeah leave a like And subscribe if you enjoyed hit the notification Bell so you don’t miss future videos I appreciate you watching I’ll see yall later real one say back

The New York Knicks made a big splash a few weeks ago when they traded for OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett. It was a major move and since that deal they have been one of the NBA’s best teams. He has elevated the Knicks defense to one of the best in the NBA, Jalen Brunson is playing an an All Star starter (maybe even All NBA) level, and Julius Randle has bounced back from his terrible start to the season. The Knicks may not be championship contenders, but they’re really good and have the foundation in place for whenever they decide to make that one big trade that takes them over the top. Let’s talk about it.

  1. i would have waited till after they play the nuggets for this video. IF you've noticed the west has been some east ass, thunder beat boston ect. IF NY beats denver then i will agree with your take on the Nicks

  2. I don’t think the Knicks offensive formula will work in the playoffs. All teams have to do is contain brunson and randle and force the rest of the knicks to beat them and i don’t think they can. Their offense is just too one dimensional plus they’ve mostly been beating up on non-playoff teams in this stretch like detroit and toronto and hornets. Thibs basically had to play a playoff type rotation to barely squeak by the wizards

  3. Who believes the East is still far from the West. I still think pacers and Knicks can't beat an Lal in a series. LA not making offs too

  4. Randle should have been traded not RJ. Knicks fans dogged RJ when it was clear that Randle and him couldn’t play together they both gotta play close to rim. And while RJ stepped up in the playoffs last year I don’t think has ever done that a whole series, maybe two games. But with OG providing better spacing maybe he plays well in April. Idk tho this day & age unless you are Paul George and LeBron you aren’t shaking that choker label. Just look at Fartden & Booker 😂

  5. Randle was off the first 6 games of the season because he was still recovering from off-season ankle surgery. C'mon man, do your homework.

  6. Everyone talks about how bad Juilus was in the playoffs last year like he wasnt playing on an injury that needed to be surgically repaired in the offseason. Was very apparent he needed to play himself into game shape this year because of the rest he needed over the summer. Yes, Julius was comically bad against atlanta when he was the primary ballhandler, but this playoff narrative is premature. I think his bully ball physical style should translate well alongside good PG play when the whistle goes away in the playoffs. Knicks are dangerous when JB is controlling the pace.

  7. Great take, Sub'd. The Knicks are a role player away from being a legit threat & a star away from being the favorites to winning it all. I think this year they pickup a role player like a backup vet pg or sg to help the 2nd group. Next yr they should make a serious run for a Mikael Bridges type, if they can add him & a backup vet pg that is all that is needed imo to be favorites & have dynasty type of potential. Letsgoo

  8. I’ll never understand why people act like Julius Randles didn’t seriously hurt his ankle a week before the playoffs last season.

He forced himself to play and re-injured his ankle in game 5 of the first round which was the close out game. And it wasn’t even healed when he hurt it again.

So he played even more injured in the second round. Then as soon as the playoffs was over. He immediately went and had season ending ankle surgery. And he didn’t not practice at all the entire summer. So to be confused about why he started the season struggling through his first 6 games. Really doesn’t make sense.

Any other star player would get the benefit of the doubt. But Randle gotta be Superman.

Him not being able to practice all summer is one of the reasons his three point percentage is down so much this year.
Randle has to work hard on his three point shooting for it to be efficient during the season.

  9. I feel like they should talk to Brooklyn to see if they could make a move for mikal bridges or cam jonhson because mikal is like an og part 2 and can move donte for some scoring off the bench but if not him cam jonhson could be a bigger versoin of qG and could fit good as a guy off the bench who can have a simular feel as og offensivly but I heard the knicks could be interested in jordan clarkson

  10. OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson outscore teams by 26 points when they’re on the floor, and the next two combos on that list include OG. OG might be the most important player in the league low key

  11. Why does no one ever bother to mention that Julius was hurt in the playoffs and had a slow start this season because he was still rebounding from the injury? Basic context that people never seem to acknowledge

  12. They’re set up to be a contender by next year’s playoffs for sure. They could even have a surprisingly good run this year, but for sure next season once they come up off their assets.

  13. Finally built a team the right way, players now want to come here. I feel like they are 1 star away from being finals contenders
