Lol, that last play was fine, Paolo made the right read. This game was lost by missing FTs and horrible shooting from deep.

We lost Suggs early, then for some reason Kelle didn’t come back in.

Enough with the fire Moseley shit, he’s literally in the running for coach of the year. We are ahead of schedule, and way better than this point last year.

That win streak warped your minds to make you guys think we are better than we actually are…..we will be fine

  2. Aspirine001

Why Anthony “9 points per 36 minutes” Black is playing so much? He should be in the G league working on his offensive game imo.

  3. Johnnyd0303

4 full days of rest and lost to a lineup of backups. on the bright side, only gave up 39 points in the 2nd half. woulda been nice to have the 2 points from that no-call on a pretty obvious memphis goaltending

if only the guys could’ve made an open 3 or free throw or played defense in the first half

  4. Massive-Celery-7926

This isn’t even a play in team lately. They look absolutely lost.

  5. Arod12toTae17

    Feb. 8

If no moves are made by then, the FO doesn’t care about making the next step.

  6. 321mafia

Mose defying all logic and basic common sense forcing us to watch AB and Wendell play defense in the 2nd half is what lost us this game. How many times in a row did we have to watch Wendell get bullied in the paint for a finish at the rim? 6? 7 times in the 2nd half? Then making the switch to JI with 50 seconds left?????? Worst loss of the season.

  7. lukeypooo

Mose was unserious tonight. How is Markell not in at the end, that’s such a colossal mistake

  8. If we don’t get someone who can actually make a 3, preferably simons, I’m just out. I can’t watch these guys shoot league worst in 3s and fts every game

  9. Fuck this shit. Somebody need to figure this shit out. A Trade is absolutely needed this year or management don’t give a shit about the fans

  10. WunWunFirstofHisName

I am appalled at the amount of people who are A.) mad about that final shot by Ingles that rimmed out on a fantastic look, B.) think it was The Play, and C.) don’t see why it came about. Not a good look for the fanbase tonight.

  11. orlandomade

Horrible loss. This team is either in a long funk or this is who they are. Either way do something. I’m sick of this shit. Dudes can’t shoot. It’s not even just from 3. We can’t shoot free throws. It’s a genuinely bad look on the front office to have a team on the cusp of a playoff birth and sit on its hands doing nothing while teams with way less assets get things done. I can’t take anymore of this

  12. RT3_Legend

Luka just went off for 73.  Thanks Frank Vogel.  Yeah I’m still salty about it.  IYKYK

  13. Street-Common-4023

You guys need a trade fr your shooting has regressed back to its means. It’s annoying how your gm continues to build around non shooting rosters like

  14. Mr_Wick18

In my opinion Paolo should’ve taken that last shot.

  15. LR_Mango

Man that sucked. They managed to get the defense back on track. I hate or FT, though.

Can’t count the games we lost at the strip :/

Negatives: no idea if that was simply because Suggs was out, but we were at least 1 step too far away from the shooter for the entire first half and large parts of the 3rd.

Markelle out hurt the pace and the offensive organisation.

Paolo and Franz not really locked in right now.

Since they let JJJ come away with a lot of forearm pushes, it would have been probably a good idea to double him in the paint or at least to try it out

    Positives:

Defense came back in the end.

Franz seems to find his 3pt (still a bit early to say, but shit didn’t look as bad anymore)

Wendells shooting stays at high level.

Markelle pushing the pace did wonders.

Edit: perfect execution of the last shot beside hitting it!

  16. as a non-Magic fan

love seeing Isaac playing 22 minutes for the first time since December 2019. so impactful on the defensive end i love watching him play

  17. Peleg5150

So we have Fultz, who can’t shoot or even take a midrange but can score in the paint. Anthony Black, who can’t stop reaching for stupid fouls and, again, can’t really shoot or take midrange. Cole Anthony, who lost his skills in the last month and his hair, can’t score three. Jalen Suggs, who every game goes to the floor after someone fouls/bumps him, and he holds his knee/hands with a threat of injury. Most time he is fine. This time it was real, and he was out in the first quarter. Oh, and he also can’t shoot in the last 5–6 games. And we have Gary ”Gary Harris” Harris who is injured, but he also can’t shoot. I can continue…. and didn’t even mention out lottery pick Jett Howard. he is in the G-League. I’m so fucking tired man….

  18. codymacc8

Damn I guess I’m glad I chose to skip this game

  19. This-Appointment-917

Look folks.. yes, we have the NBA’s easiest schedule for the rest of the season. Yes, we’re not going to make a trade.. but at least we got Paolo & Franz

  20. philip_p_donahue

Thinking about this, maybe they’ve been told to just keep yeeting 3s until they start landing, because realistically we can’t get anywhere until we at least have a few believable 3 point threats on the floor at any time to space the floor. When we were on our good run we were something like top in the league for points in the paint, I think other teams have woken up to that and are just packing the paint knowing we’re not good at shooting

  21. resincak

Mose looked as if he he was told to tank since the team is “ahead of schedule”

  22. Should we start bringing back the ‘PAIN’ comments from the tanking days

  23. 8 missed ft’s. 6 less three-pointers made. Story of the season.

  24. elfreedpayton

Anthony Black is elfrid Payton 2.0. change my view

  25. MeasurementExciting7

Why does AB get so many minutes?

  26. rtillaree

I kinda hate us. Sucks that this team doesn’t appear to be growing on the court.

  27. resincak

Well PB just said “we’ll be alright” so I trust in him.

Then I remember the great Tyronn Lue said the same and the Magic proceeded to lose 20 straight games.

    😎

  28. NikThaGreat9

I think I’m finally at the acceptance phase. This team is going nowhere this year. They can’t shoot at all. Which causes Franz and Paolo to be inefficient and turnover prone. They (minus Suggs and Isaac) are selective with their effort defensively. Usually in close games where they are losing. They struggle to rebound the ball consistently. Even in games like tonight where the offense was decent it just looks sluggish and we’re having to work way too hard to get a good look. Which obviously the horrific shooting ties into. I’d almost say we’re better off just running a freestyle offense. The sets Mosely runs constantly just waste 14 seconds off the clock and result in Paolo and Franz having to throw up a low percentage shot at the end of the shot clock. I think we would benefit getting into our offense quicker and having more time to find a good shot.

  29. Arixxtra

Again Mose is not it for this team and if the F.O can not put a better product on the court going forward there is no point to be invested in this team and change the name to the Orlando Magic Farm Team

    |A. Black|26:39|2|0-3| Utter Foolishness’

  30. stepbbqjumper

Our guard play is the worst in the league by a mile. I’d take anyone at this point. Just get a damn PG/SG that isn’t bad for once.

  31. Doing the right thing doesn’t always yield you the result but over time it will.

We lost a game not long ago because Paolo was trying to hit a game tying three contested by two with Mo Wagner wide open.

Today he drove pulled two and passed to the wide open Ingles. It’s the correct play and it didn’t yield a result.

Had he taken the shot double teamed and missed or got blocked with Ingles wide open you all would be losing your shit.

These losses suck but they’re part of the process of building a young team into something great.

Get some sleep Magicians. We go again Sunday.

  32. moonlightdesert

This team will never do anything until they get an actual point guard that is good. We need that and we need shooting. I’ve said it for months now and that hasn’t changed. This front office is pretty frustrating. They keep drafting the same type of player and it doesn’t fit. You need diff things on basketball teams to make them go. It’s so obvious what is needed but they’ll likely just trade for some 6’11 guy who shoots 8 percent from 3.

  33. ReedWilliams12

I wish we would’ve seen Goga. Wendell was awesome on offense, but seeing it in person JJJ was bodying him and and getting to the rim at will.

  34. supbruhbruhLOL

Its super duper awesome that the refs missed that goal tend from Memphis on a Cole drive

  35. treadwater23

Team ain’t winning consistently without an actual point guard. So many teams have them besides us… even the bad ones.

  36. SincereFan

Are yall ready to listen to me, when I say that Wendell is not a center and not a good fit next to Paolo, or when I say that Goga is the real difference maker and the reason we were #2 or when I say that Mosley is not a real center and should be fired/demoted for what he has done with this team?

This is not me being reactionary, there are so much film proof and stats of everything I said above. There are so much that went wrong these last few weeks that I honestly just gave up typing since it would be negative and thats not really fun. I know many of yall didn’t expect us to be this good, so having a “winning” team is a plus but we are being mismanaged and its hurting us longterm for the future. Just thinking about the little positives and forgetting the negatives aren’t helpful.

I am being serious when I say that I believe Mosley is the worst HC in the NBA (I used to say second after Luke but he got fired). Mosley doesn’t make good lineups unless forced, we have seen that for years. We have literally been a losing team every year until Mosley is forced to play working lineups because of injuries. Never start off hot with our “real lineup”. I know previously many of would have called the team a rebuilding team and excused it but just watching the games and how the players sometimes looked confused on roles, on who was guarding who, and what are the plays they should call should tell the entire story. This is still happening today and cant be laughed away as its because they are young. Mosley doesn’t understand how to make lineups that make sense.

We were #2 because he was forced to play guys, not because he saw that AB+Suggs worked in practice or that Goga was a defensive menace. I do give him credit for keeping the bench the same as it was working clearly in the early season and deciding to just push up AB and Goga instead of ruining the bench but he didn’t keep that same energy when Markelle and Wendell came back and decided to ruin the WORKING SL.

I have said it many times before but I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND, what coach sees a team as a fully established top 4 seed (actually #2 for essentially majority of the season at the time, but in a group with 3 other teams all close in rankings), and decides that it is not good enough. We were in a completely different tier with the likes of Boston, Philly, and Mil and I really need some of yall to stop pushing the narrative that it was a hot streak or luck, the players were doing it for multiple weeks. Dont push the same narrative that ESPN and other big market teams want to use to demean a smaller market team when we all know for sure they would never say that if Lakers were #2 for the majority of the season and then benched their starting guard and center and fell. They would likely call out the HC and clearly point to the changes that happened.

Our team is ready to compete but the lineups are terrible and do not fit. Its shows in the stats literally. We were upper right quadrant now we falling to bottom left, its terrible. All stats and metrics point to the obvious changes but somehow our fans and FO are insincere and looking with clouded eyes. I am a big fan of Wendell and Markelle also but I have said it for years Wendell isnt a center and doesnt fit. Markelle may fit I wasnt sure between him or AB which was better but I for sure knew Goga is a better C than Wendell. Goga is top 4 (mostly top 2 but in some he fell in recent weeks) in pretty much every defensive stat or category centers. He is actually an ALL NBA defender if given any attention. He was a great passer and great help defender, and an elite rim protector. He didnt need help unlike Wendell and that was the difference, Goga can be trusted alone to D somebody and still secure the rebound and Wendell can guard somebody (not so much recently) but he needs others to cover his back and rebound.

AB also fits, he is an elite wing stopper like top 4 according to bball index, #9 POA defender IN D-Lebron (Suggs was #3) , he is also top10 help defender, top 10 guard at defending the rim as in he is very switchable and great at picking up rollers and cutters, top 10 forward in Rim Points Saved/75, and a great connector, and at times a reliable kickout target.

(bball index, Top 10 Point of Attack defenders in D-Lebron, https://twitter.com/The_BBall_Index/status/1747076204190920808, Jan 15, Twitter/X),

(Bball index, top 5 guards in Rim dFG% vs Expected, https://twitter.com/The_BBall_Index/status/1746638320443047983), January 16)

(Bball index, The top 10 forwards in Rim Points Saved/75, https://twitter.com/The_BBall_Index/status/1750262199568744692), Jan 15)

Notice how all the above is recent. When I say AB fit, I meant it. Offense isn’t everything, him and Jalen were dominating defensively, they were both ball hawks, and could cover the POA and were very switchable. AB’s help defense and size added alot to Suggs defensive package. It allowed Suggs to play more aggressive and get out of position because AB was running around picking up everybody. I saw that and called it but the team got too much in to what the media was saying, they directly mentioned that they listened to the noise and left what they were elite at, but they still never returned to it. Our team’s identity is defense not offense, so adding Wendell/Markelle to the SL for offense and losing our defense is a terribly shortsighted move. A coach should have seen that and not did it. Why ruin something that was working? It wasn’t even an proper attempt to get better because we were #2 and always putting a fight vs other top teams and Mosley just outrightly benched Goga and AB as soon as guys came back. It was a short sighted and honestly bias. Other coaches actually reward players for helping get us success, they praise their efforts to the media and push them up especially if they are as young as AB and Goga but Mose did that with a thin veil as he always talked about waiting for our other guys to come back. I just dont know what he is seeing that he allowed us to free fall but its fireable imo.

He uses players in their wrong positions (Wendell made his notoriety and name known in the NBA as a PF next to Mo but next thing you know Mose is telling him he is a center and he can be the best center). I honestly believe that Wendell playing these center minutes is ruining his development, he used to be a flexible POA defender that could keep up with mobile bigs and isn’t always beat by smalls but now he has no lateral movement. It could be because of his injury but before the injury I do not think he was a good defender at the beginning of the year. Average at best and got blown out multiple times. Wendell and Markelle are great players but Wendell is best used as a PF and we already have Paolo so he should be benched. Thats why I kept saying before that maybe Franz can play the 2 and we use Wendell+ Mo or Wendell+Goga and looking at how Wendell is shooting and rolling right now it would have been deadly but now at this point I truly think he lost a step and is a liability in SL’s.

We do not need a coach for a rebuilding team, we need a coach for a developing and competing team, and the quicker some of yall realize that, the better. Mosley is in a different timeline to our players. He is still trying to figure out lineups and what he has while most of these players need a stable system and to have set plays and motions as they are ready to win. That last play to end the game was atrocious, Mose didnt know Paolo would get doubled? Why is Franz in the corner, we had like 0 movement, just a simple pass to Paolo to get doubled and hopefully Joe isnt fully covered at the 3 point line? It wasn’t a good play at all, even if Joe made it, I would say the same thing. Paolo was quick on the pass back but I want to believe that somewhere before the pass the play was broken up because the results that followed were truly bad and amateurish from a HC.

What I wish from some of yall if possible, is to stop blaming players. Mosley doesnt have them in good spots at all. Stop blaming AB, yes he messed up a few times but his role is terrible, most players had no idea what to do, Franz was dribbling into traffic, guys got tied up and would try to kick out to corner in desperation and thats just a terrible system. Mosley needs the flack. We literally know what the best lineup for this team is, that lineup was #2 for majority of the season when together, and they win when together. When something is working and synergistic and cohesive, making changes is just asking for an implosion and that is what is happening this team is imploding. The players aren’t figured out, the system doesnt work for them and they do not have a plan B outside of hoping some player goes hero mode for them. Yes it has worked before because we have talent and many guys on this team can get buckets and get hot, but its not something to be relied upon as it lacks any real direction and players actually rarely feed the hot hand. What we need is stability, thats why I am in favor of a trade, just so Mosley would stop this “win by committee” mindset which means he is randomly benching somebody because he believes they aren’t going to be useful this game or this week or this month. Its just terrible and all it does is make players not understand their fit/roles and it also causes some guys to be hesitant, and if they try to break out of the hesitancy like AB or Caleb the few games they weren’t benched they get eaten alive online and get all the blame.
