  1. Dodged a bullet there, shouldn’t be out to long.

  2. Hopefully it’s just a week or two. Considering Julius is 3rd in the league in minutes the rest should be good for him

  3. FtheRedSox

Obviously we never want anything like this to happen but the timing really couldn’t be better with the all star break right around the corner

  4. Not too bad, we can probably sign Kyden to cover his minutes for a bit. Get better soon Jules 🖤.

  5. UllrCtrl

Hopefully just 1-2 weeks but however long it takes I’m just happy he’s okay

  6. WhoTookPlasticJesus

Assuming the MRI comes back clean this is really the best-cast scenario. He’ll still be out six weeks or so.

Not the biggest deal in the world, but fuck I’ll be bummed if he has to miss playing in the All Star game.

  7. yougetmetight

Hope Jules is okay and can recover quickly, we are not the same team without this man

  8. MattCat1261

So I don’t know anything about dislocated shoulders but from Google it says recovery is 6 to 12 weeks?

  9. Urban_Introvert

Precious gotta step up. Unless they’re moving OG at the 4?

  10. BackPains84

Dislocated shoulder could take as long as 3 monthes to recover…it’s not a walk in the park.

  11. BabyFight

Hoping for the best. Dislocated shoulder is exactly what I thought when his shoulder was limp after getting up.

Does this automatically make him an all star reserve in the coaches eyes? Coaches Choose him knowing that opens up a spot for an injury replacement allowing to get two worthy all stars in in one vote. Tin foil hat on to find some silver lining in an otherwise terrible outcome for Randle.

Now they kind of HAVE to go out and get more offensive help. Especially since recovery time could be 4-6 weeks at best depending on the MRI results. Maybe this starts back up the Dejounte Murray or Brogdon talks. Wishing Randle the best.

  13. Snuggle__Monster

That’s part 1. Now we need the MRI to confirm no tear.

  14. Mr_Jersey

Yeah you could see it off set after it happened in real time. Mostly dodged a bullet there.

mri will show hes out for year unfortunately. all thr symptoms tell the story. thanks Riley

  16. Affectionate-Tea9224

Best case is he misses a month, worst case he’a done for the year..always against the fucking heat, even when knicks win they still lose against these losers

  17. markabraystinger

Some of y’all need to slow down saying this is good news. We need the MRI results before saying anything.

Dislocated my left and right shoulders the past two years, respectively, and I tore my labrum each time. Each X-ray I had didn’t show shit and they needed the MRI to determine what had happened. Labrum tears are super serious and one of the hardest injuries to come back from.

I truly hope we got lucky and his ligaments are in good shape.

  18. ZoidbergSaysWoop

Randle is built different, he’ll be back before long.

  19. HeartunderBlade516

Mid rapper by the name of Drake comes to MSG the same day our boy gets hurt. Coincidence? I think not

  20. Dylan7346

My quick google search saw basketball players typically return from a dislocated shoulder after 4 weeks, but of course it could be longer if there’s more damage to his ligaments and muscles

  21. OGKnicksFan2024

Juilius needs to rest and work with all the shooting coaches. The last thing they need is for his stroke to be off for the playoffs.

I would target the Charlotte Hornets for a trade. The Knicks need warm bodies.

Fournier and Grimes for P.J. Washington, Mark Williams and Ish Smith goes through on ESPN Trade Machine.

I would give both 1sts this year and 2 future 2nd round picks. P.J. Washington then becomes the big contract that they can trade in the future

  22. Original-Common-7010

Shoulder injuries are tricky and can become a cronic proble if not treated/rested properly. Even if we want to trade him for a bigger star, the knicks should be very conservative with randle.

Lets see what precious has i guess 🤷‍♂️

  23. Hemispheres33

Yeah that’s what I figured when he was grabbing it like that. Hopefully it’s not as serious as it can be.

  24. zOmgFishes

I said Brunson was gonna drop 60 one of these games but not like this

  25. It was this time last year against the heat when Jules rolled his ankle agains the heat….. fuck

Reddit doctor credentials are as an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in upper extremity surgery who spends too much time watching sports and on Reddit. This is my interpretation/thoughts: “X-rays didn’t show much damage” Could be that it just showed the dislocation/then reduction of it. On x-ray, you can see a bony bankart injury (avulsion fracture of the anterior inferior glenoid – aka the socket), which is usually pretty small, but can be larger. You can also see a Hill Sachs lesions which is where the humeral head (ball) gets impacted/indented by the anterior inferior glenoid when it dislocates. Other bony changes could also be seen, but those are rare. Depending on the study, Bankart injuries can be present in up to 97% of young patient shoulder dislocations, and Hill Sachs in up to 80%. Unclear based on the wording of the tweet if these injuries were noted on the xray. As many people have said, the MRI will provide significantly more information to guide Randle’s treatment. With these dislocations, there is always some capsular injury, particularly anteriorly/inferiorly with most dislocations as it appears Randle suffered, or without bone as the Bankart injury. You can have injuries to the labrum (very common), ligaments (possible), rotator cuff tendons (rare in this age group) and confirmation of the size of the potential bony injuries such as Bankart/Hill Sachs on MRI. Treatments options will depend on what the MRI shows and how Randle/the team/doctors want to manage it. If there are significant bony defects (unlikely), that will prompt surgery. Other potential soft tissues injuries on MRI can also prompt surgery. Unfortunately, younger patients, contact sports athletes and overhead athletes, and previously dislocations have higher risk for recurrent instability/dislocations. I couldn’t find anything about Randle having previously injured/dislocated this shoulder online. If he doesn’t have an injury that requires surgery, they could opt for progressive therapy. This often takes 2 to 4 weeks to get symmetric range of motion/strength to allow for return to play, but with increased risk of recurrence of instability compared to prior to injury. If he undergoes surgery, most of those rehabs are 4-6 months depending on what had to be done before return to sport. Unfortunately, he is still at a higher risk of re-injury even after surgery, but lower than if no surgery is done. Early/midseason if there isn’t an absolute indication for surgery in a competitive season we often try rehab first and allow them to return and see how they do with plan B for surgery in the offseason. If he has a recurrent instability event after that, it usually means shut it down/time for surgery, since more instability events can cause articular injury/arthritis, but sometimes athletes will argue for another trial of therapy. Unfortunately, Randle’s physical game would lend to an increased risk for recurrent dislocation. We’ll see what the MRI shows. I am hoping he can rehab it and avoid any other injuries…

Bogdonovic and burks or Olynyk and Clarkson should be the priorities as well as brogdon possibly

  28. lukebillwalker

He’ll be fine – I called that as it happened. It’s not a great feeling but it ends fast. I know from experience AMA
