[Slater] Steph Curry on the officiating in Lakers-Warriors tonight. He said he was frustrated with the inconsistencies. – “There’s probably 3 plays I was involved that it was a clear bad call in the sense of giving guys unnecessary FT attempts. On the other end, they look the other way” (1:34)

Damn thats pretty blunt from Steph
He looks so f’in done
Doesn’t wear Nikes can’t get them calls.
Yeah he seems pretty fucking frustrated, I feel like you rarely hear him be this frank with the media
Happy he’s speaking up. Not that it would do anything but still shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Is Steph from Canada man is being way to polite after having 2 games in a row stolen because refs
This is rare for steph to say something like this. Fuck them refs
I just watched the 2nd half and double OT of that Lakers, Warriors game and holy crap it’s hard to enjoy close basketball games when the Lakers are playing. I try my best to believe that the nba is not rigged but this is the second (big time) this year that the Lakers shot an exhausting amount of free throws in a clutch game. In a 1 point differential game the Lakers managed to put up 43 free throws compared to Golden States 16. You would have to be ignorant to believe that’s even possibly fair, and it’s the second most notable time this month. After the Toronto Raptors lost to the Lakers 2 weeks ago it was once again a 1 point differential loss for the Raptors as the lakers received 36 free throws compared to Toronto’s 13, and to add on to this, 23 of those were in the fourth quarter compared to Toronto’s 2. Once again, an absolute blasphemous glaze by the refs that can’t be overlooked.
Now, I’ve always wanted to believe pro sports aren’t rigged and I don’t think they are. However, refs consistently control games, and are consistently terrible in big moments. It makes no sense why Draymond Green, the most penalized and dirtiest player in basketball, can practically slap Anthony Davis in the face at the end of the 4th quarter and not get a flagrant foul, or even a review for a flagrant call!! But here me out, with a flagrant foul call, not only would the Lakers get 2 free throws but they would also get possession of the ball which would practically end the game. And guess what! You and me checking our phones and notice a close game going into overtime between the Lakers and Warriors! This is exactly what Adam Silver and the NBA want for a Saturday night primetime game on ESPN, two legends, Steph and Lebron going into a 2OT!
What else?! Well the Lakers currently sit in a pretty tough spot in the western conference, Lebron and AD fully healthy are struggling to make the play in, and the NBA is constantly making it there referees duty to get them some wins. We saw it with the Raptors and we saw it tonight in this Warriors game. The Warriors went on a strong run in the 3rd quarter, and then suddenly every single small contact or flop from a Lakers player was called foul, and they were at the line once again shooting. Every time the Warriors looked like they were getting hot there was a whistle blown for a foul. OR how about the refs random whistle call which forced a jump ball during a possession where Klay Thompson got blocked, and Golden State would have recovered the basketball from out of bounds. These slight things from the refs gave the Lakers obvious slight advantages, and I can’t help but notice it anymore especially in these close games where I just want to see two great teams have a shoot out.
Final thing is the Lebron drive to the basket in the 2nd OT reminded me a lot like a play back in TD Garden, literally exactly a year ago! When Lebron drove straight to the basket and Tatum obviously fouled him at the end of the 4th quarter, and the refs somehow didn’t call it?! It was iconic because not only did the clown Patrick Beverly bring a camera on the court to show the refs the foul, and Lebron screamed like a gorilla in the middle of the court pounding his chest . But, even the announcers were saying this is the reason the nba has replay, exactly for moments like that! Now you ask why am I bringing this up? Well, this just so happened to be one of those games of the year, where the Celtics and Lakers, a classic rivalry, were off to overtime in another ESPN primetime game! Say what you want but basketball is hard to watch with this kind of nonsense, and it’s hard to ignore these situations in close games where I just want clean games with less whistles. I hope you understand the point I am making, and I’m not some Golden State Warriors fanboy, but simply a guy that likes watching basketball and can’t help but notice these consistent issues!
A 2 time MVP (1 time unanimous MVP), 4 time champion, 1 time Finals MVP, & greatest shooter to ever play the game should be getting just as much calls & even more than role players, 1 time MVPs & guys who haven’t even accomplished anything other than making the playoffs. The disrespect Curry gets is ridiculous. Yeah, he shoots a lot of 3s but anyone who watches the games knows he gets to the rim & 9/10 times he’s getting fouled with no call. Any other player you can’t even breathe on & they get the call. The officiating for the warriors is ridiculous & it just doesn’t make sense.
Here comes the fine, but I don’t care. Pay whatever. These refs need to be called out with the inconsistencies on the calls due to gambling. Yes, I said it. Gambling is influencing these games and it’s clear as day!
Damn, Steph is gonna pay for the Ref’s next few dinners with that 50k fine
“warriors don’t shoot free throws because they shoot too many 3s and don’t drive to the hoop”
on saturday night
lakers had 52 shot attempts in the paint, 60 points in the paint, & 43 free throw attempts
warriors had 49 shot attempts in the paint, 54 points in the paint, & 16 free throw attempts

The most disrespected superstar in the league. SMH
All this bullshit officiating ruining games, yet fucking Adam Silver won’t fucking investigate the bullshit since i’m sure the refs’ agendas line up PERFECTLY with his, and if he wants to find a way to increase viewership this ain’t the fucking way to do it buddy. Terrible fucking commissioner for not looking into this fucking matter, and of COURSE he signs another extension as commissioner till the end of the decade.

(ignore most of that rant i just think silver is a trash commissioner, but the refs vs warriors agenda is fucking garbage and lakers fans are delusional thinking the game wasn’t rigged in their favor)
Let’s face it, the refs obviously pick an choose but a lot of times Steph is getting fouled with body contact and refs look to see if the contact was incidental or not. Steph is so good at getting a shot off through contact that the refs hold their whistle.
Not all of it but some of it is because he’s just so damn accurate around the rim that they let a lot of marginal contact go with him.
It’s frustrating as hell to watch because you see guys across the league scream, flail and then not even try to make the basket get rewarded with FTs.
Good for him to speak up, if the nba doesn’t do anything about this reffing then eventually the sports going to lose a lot of viewers
Steph finally said it. Dude never calls out refs even when its blatant. Hes finally hit his limit of fucks given.
Those dipshit refs called a foul on him for boxing out AD
The most disrespected superstar
To the refs, 🌵!
If you’re going to go after the refs then really go after them. You’re going to be fined anyway. Bring receipts. Break out the monitor.
Only Adam Silver can do anything about the refs, unfortunately.
r/nba is actually so insufferable with this. Mfs saying Steph shoots a lot of threes but conveniently forgetting that he drove and attacked the basket way more than dlo or reeves and yet shot way less fts than either of them. Imagine actually thinking dlo or reeves get more defensive attention than Steph lol. Just look at the degree of contact that was allowed on Steph vs their gaurds. But sure lakers are just a very “physical” team. Also saying dray got away with a flagrant too is such bs. Sure that one missed call offsets all the other bs calls that the lakers got
I honestly think he should publicly sit out and remind everyone every chance he gets that he won’t be abused like this
Been going on too long
Is it possible for Chase Center to start chanting “fuck the refs” every game? Hoping to see it lmao
If they called the game fairly on both ends of the floor the Warriors would’ve won by 10.
Fucking finally. I’ve been sick of this shit.
The main sub acting like the 3rd & 4th quarter didn’t happen. That’s when most of the fuckery happened. We should’ve won by a considerable amount even without OT.
He should absolutely speak his mind about it and call out some of this refs bullshit.
Steph was way too kind about this. You can see the frustration and it has been building. Tonight I felt he was grabbed, pushed, bumped and literally thrown and the refs seem to think that is ok in this modern era of freedom-of-movement and players “like” Steph are exactly why this rule change was implemented but then when you have Steph who actually should benefit from this rule due to his play style, yet fans might wind up watching him shoot 20+ free throws a game, it feels like the NBA thinks that is not good for the game. They literally can’t contradict themselves when THIS is what the rule was made for. Steph is tired, I know he’s hurting (mentally and physically) and the NBA needs to take note of how he is being treated on the court. He has done more for this game in the past decade than any other player in the league and the NBA seems to forget that. I hope the he and the team continue to speak up about this.
Make no mistake: the lakers played really well. It’s just that there’s an accumulation of bad calls to close games, and weve been dealing with it all year where it’s a “can I call a foul?” on one end, and “do I HAVE to call a foul?” on the other end.
sometimes Steph is blunt..might as well..he’ll be fined anyway..or are players not supposed to answer press questions?
