[Highlight] Nikola Jokic on Embiid: “He’s a great player. If you’re a basketball, soccer, horse racing fan, Denver Nuggets fan, Philadelphia fan, whoever, enemies, whatever, I think you need to respect what he’s doing. He’s putting history in front of our eyes and he’s making it look so easy.”

Well yeah. The wost thing the mans said to another player is giving Chet advice to put on some weight. And you cant deny that he had a point.

Gotta love Jokic, too bad r/NBA users don’t wanna hear a rational take like this. I feel like people hate him for largely superficial reasons, he seems like he has a good character, barring injuries he’s an absolutely unstoppable force on the court and honestly has a pretty remarkable come up story, only starting basketball when he was 15 and getting drafted at the age of 20. People, especially in the last few days can be really unnecessarily vitriolic when it comes to the discourse around Embiid.

r/nba shut your face big horsey man.

If you’re down on Jokic, you’re not even a hater; you’re just a Morris.

The horse racing community has shown Embiid too much disrespect.

Gotta respect Jokic for continuing the mutual respect these two have for each other. I’m sure the media probably asked him a question about Joel missing the game hoping for some spicy headline, just like they were hoping for one after the game in Philly from Embiid, and Jokic gave his honest opinion that I wish more fans would take heed of. Joel, of course got criticized for calling Jokic the best player in the world because Joel wakes up and people criticize him for how he got out of bed, but I digress.

Joel is honestly one of the most likeable NBA players outside of this sub. He’s got a great, sometimes tragic story. He has NEVER gotten into any kind of trouble outside the court whatsoever. His game has evolved every year and you can actually see the evolution in real time, and he has the respect of his peers.

Personally I largely blame the NBA and how it markets it’s stars for some of the negativity he has to deal with. But even so he handles it with class, just as he handles numerous playoff injuries and failures by playing through them and trying to get better the next year. He doesn’t get coaches fired, he hasn’t threatened to leave or demanded a trade to join up with other stars, nor has he demanded another star come to Philly. He’s the type of player that fans should want their own stars to be like, and Nikola Jokic is the exact same way.

Why he sliped the horse racing fan into it…
    Good job

A sixers nuggets finals would be so hilarious. It would be nothing but respect on the court while the fans start world war 3 on twitter

So funny to watch Jokic and Embiid fanboys tear each other apart only to see Jokic and Embiid showing each other respect every chance they get.

Raising the perceived quality of his competition so the history books don’t paint him into his own circle like Shaq.

This guy is really into Horse Racing. I feel like he is just playing in the NBA, to fund horse shit later in life

  12. Afraid-Department-35

He just had to drag the horse racing community into this as well didn’t he?

  13. Apollo611

Doesn’t fit my fan-fiction he’s supposed to say “where’s Embiid at?”

  14. laughingwisetulip

Jokic really wants to bring in his horse racing aspirations to reality

  15. Translation: please don’t give me the MVP anymore.

  16. cripsytaco

Classy of course, but for entertainment kinda wish they mortally hated each other

  17. Sufficient_Drag5

They’re having a battle of who can be nicer to the other person 😂

  18. twoorthee

Two great players to rep the league. I don’t believe either of them have said or did anything to make themselves or their teams look stupid.

  19. Too much class from this guy. Where is the drama. I only watch this sport for drama.
