I’m doing this one off the top because I have zero notes as we were doing a watch along as I’m sure some of you tuned into good stuff what I remember about the start of this game though is that the Nuggets got off to a terrible start

Abysmal it was an awful open to this game for Denver it reminded us of how they looked against the Knicks to start that game during our previous wash along they were all out of sorts offensively it did not look like the Nuggets nicolea yic was off Aaron Gordon was taking

Weird shots and Chris Middleton came out of the gates redot I think he h hit his first four shots and the Bucks were up early in this one then Denver’s bench came in and actually settled this game down the Nuggets bench played great tonight that was one of the story lines

For sure they had three guys in double digit positives and they played so well to end that first quarter where walk only led by one 2625 bench let off a little bit but the starters picked it up a little bit in the second quarter as well Denver actually outscored the Bucks

31-30 in the second quarter and the first half was the Jamal Murray show I think he had 21 points he did in the first half very reminiscent of uh the first half against Philly from the other night when he went off but he was on

Fire in this first half he cooled off in the third quarter uh but that was okay because you know other nuggets picked it up Nicole yic picked it up kcp hit some shots uh Reggie Jackson hit some shots as well a Denver outscored Milwaukee 2619 in the third and then in the fourth

It was peanut butter jelly time it was the two-man game uh Nicole yic and Jamal Murray closed this one out joic it feels like he flipped the switch at some some point in the second half you could kind of see it in his eyes he got super engaged super aggressive and Jamal

Murray was also great in the fourth quarter as well he finished with 35 points and had some big shots down the stretch and that’s how Denver won 113 107 the Nuggets moved to 32 and 15 on the season they beat the Bucks in the first match up between these two teams

This year let’s go to big takeaways uh Dev start with you man uh the thing that I realized today um that I never knew is how much I I truly love a good mukbang oh my God and with good mukbang um I also really enjoy watching the Nuggets

Play against teams that they feel are contenders teams that they are motivated and want to get up for um I don’t think that Denver played an an amazing game but they always seem to find a way like to to get over the hump to find a way to

Finish strong um to close it out when it truly matters and I think that that’s a team that they wanted to to compete against wanted to play hard against um so that was a that was a good playoff feel type of game although it was a different type of win some wins come

Ended up fouling out which was actually a testament to how hard he was playing um it was wild like Giannis got some points but Giannis really wasn’t the story tonight for the bucks he really did not have the dominant presence that you’d expect out of a Giannis Le bucks a

Doc Rivers Leed team no less um it was it was great the douget played exceptional defense when they needed to and they they came away with the dub beautiful night the defense definitely a big takea away from this one vote yeah that’s where I was going as well and I

Think that’s how this team reminds me of last team last year’s team the most and it’s they seem both able to and content with flipping a switch defensively yeah when that switches on they are who we think they are who they showed they were who they proved they were that’s

Championship material I think you know maybe their challenge this year is flipping it on more more than they’d like to but you know this game was another good example as was the Celtics game when push came to shove they still have that situational lock down especially in the clutch defense and

That to me you go do you feel like this team can do it again I would start there with yes that’s how they remind me of the championship team yeah if we think back to last year the Nuggets it’s easy to forget this now they were like 20th

In defense All Season yep and until like I I don’t even remember what they finished they definitely finished in the teens somewhere they were never like Elite defensively last season but they had a great clutch defense all year and that’s what we hunger had on that’s why

We thought their defense could rise to the occasion in the playoffs because of that clutch defense and you’re right they added again this year overall their defense has been much better this year they’ve been top 10 for most of the Season flirting around that 10 11 12

Range but right now clutch defense they do have the best clutch defense in the NBA 96.5 defensive rating and 82 clutch minutes this season and overall the defense was Elite against Milwaukee tonight the Bucks are the second best offense in the NBA this season yeah they

Just had a coaching change I doubt Doc Rivers was given them that many detailed instructions on how they should run their offense tonight I’m sure it’s pretty much the same but this is a Bucks team that just put 140 points on the Pelicans two nights ago and the Nuggets

Held him to 107 so I agree with with all you guys the defense was definitely I thought the story tonight um if that’s a big takeaway for sure but I’ll go with I’m not buying the bucks at all oh I’m not scared of the Milwaukee Bucks at

All especially with Doc Rivers at the helm but they just do not seem like they have enough to me and it probably starts with the fact that I’m not buying their defense at all at all and they haven’t been good defensively all year and yeah you can

Say they only held the Nuggets to 113 points tonight this was a bad offensive game from Denver and I don’t know how much it really had to do with Milwaukee’s defense it was just an off night from Denver’s offense but the combination of Dame L and Malik Beasley

In the back court I am not trusting that at all in a playoff environment and if I was a Bucs Fan I’d be terrified about rolling those two outs together as my starting back court yeah I truly do hope that they just run through the East and

They match up with Denver in in the play or in the finals um just because I do think that that’s a talented team I think that a lot of nights they are going to get more going offensively but I think that’s where you credit Denver’s defense especially in the clutch um just

Finding ways to to come up with more stops Aaron Gordon really did Step Up um match up with Y I mean with Giannis they built a wall like I I give credit to Denver’s defensive scheme their matchup they made a life tough for Dame Lillard

He was in jail all night he had a rough one um but I just feel like they tried to make Brook Lopez beat you they tried to make Chris Middleton beat you and they’re not going to beat you so yeah Denver had the game plan in there but I

Really do think that this is a team that Denver just matches up extremely well with and hope they meet again I know like tonight you see if Dame if you’re able to neutralize Dame even a little bit he doesn’t give you I mean he basically gave you what you could expect

To get out of um uh who who was their point card they just traded to the Celtics uh Dre holiday Drew holiday but without the defense so that’s not moving forward that’s moving uh backwards by quite a bit so yeah I agree with you I

Even when they were on fire to start off it was like well they’re hitting every single shot if they can shoot 100% for this entire game then yeah I think that they’re pretty scary but um you know they came back down to earth as every team does um you weren’t you know you

Guy fired again has warming up yeah I mean the only reason this was close is because the Nuggets shot four of 18 from three and still won 22% and Denver still won by six and didn’t shoot well at home and I think not to speak

For you guys but I think we’ve all said it respectively enough on this show mukbang yeah mukbang for sure over the years I think we’ve been pretty comfortable with the Bucks match up at least in a regular season environment head-to-head with Denver it’s not not

One that’s struck a lot of fear in us no and I have to say the new look bucks step one maybe for a blueprint defensively towards Denver is having at least an option to make Jamal work harder than he’d like to a Jaden McDaniels if you will and not only do

They not have that they have the opposite like it’s if it’s Damon Malik it is actually going to be too easy for a guy like Jamal to get going and there are a lot of good guards in this league so if I’m a bucks fan I’m worried about

That but from the Denver perspective how has this matchup changed the most well on night T8 Dame’s not dropping 40 it’s even easier for Jamal than it used to be and so I I’m picking up what you guys are putting down yeah absolutely and just one more note on the defense there

Were a lot of great individual defensive performances tonight Aaron Gordon bodied up Giannis all night long held Giannis to 29 Points 11 to 19 but didn’t seem like he controlled the game at all Yannis did it seemed like he was he played okay but like not that great

Payton Watson spent a lot of time on Giannis in the fourth quarter where Denver really locked in defensively he had a great defensive night and also kcp like if you’re voting on all NBA all NBA Defensive teams at the end of the season go back and look at this game

From kcp holds Dame blow to 5 of 13 shooting spend some time on Malik Beasley he shot two and N he would have kept shooting too but there was one possession that stands out from kyp’s KN and it was late in the game there was just a couple minutes left the bucks

Came out of a timeout and they tried to get the ball to Dame Lillard to start their play KP guarded him 94 ft denied him the ball for the first 10 15 seconds of the shot clock it was a beautiful individual defensive play it threw the Bucks completely off of what they were

Doing they had a play call in mind it started with Dame getting the ball kcp did not allow him to get the ball and I think that ended with offensive foul that uh was on Brook Lopez on an illegal screen and it was just an incredible effort by

Kcp and uh These Are the nights when his individual defense just just really shines through he was he was great defensively let’s talk about Jamal Murray’s night a little more though he was the star I I’d say for Denver especially late and in the first half I

Like Denver was going to respond and it was Jamal that was like hey I’m just you know I’m going to put them on I’m going to score every single time I’m going to take shots um he got off to a hot start that got them back in the game um third

Quarter it was yoke time so that’s when he took over he had his big run and Jamal just kind of cruised and then it was time to to close him out and and Jamal did that and you want to see him do this in these type of games in these

Type of performances not just you know against those other type of you know teams where it doesn’t really matter this was a big game this was a a matchup that he was motivated in and he scored 35 points like that he went off like that he really did go off um and you’re

Supposed to take advantage of it he had Damen Lillard on him a guy that could not defend him went right at him that they had to switch off and try to put other people on him and then at at that point it’s too late so um Jamal had a

Monster game and he’s big reason why they won this game yeah he was so comfortable all game I thought yeah he’s such a calming presence when he’s like this there were moments down the stretch that got a little bit dicey and then Jamal Murray just stops gets a pass from

Yic stops pops mid-range goes in without any doubt at all just uh it was uh it was it was pure poetry watching Jamal Murray operate with such confidence um you love it I mean you love seeing this type of performance coming from him it is a you know we are we have been

Getting a little bit of the good game bad game good game bad game but the good games are so good the good game like the Peaks are rising even if the ners are still uh you know hate that word are still uh you know in the nikic got a DPO

What the fudge dude he had five stocks tonight brother I know what a beautiful game and by the way Malone won his 400th game good call uh beautiful shout out Michael Malone shout out Michael shout out Michael Malone with Jamal man it was just the lights were finally bright

Enough again exactly a big game measuring stick game we need this one Jamal said say less I’ll be there um do you wonder if like when he shoots trash into his garbage can at home and no one’s looking does he miss 100% of the shots then he goes and he say finals

Comfortable um and I don’t know if they have a good matchup a good answer for him as is that lineup oh yeah that’s the biggest difference between the Bucks of last year and this year Drew holiday is a tough matchup yep yep Damen lard Malik Beasley not a tough match Jamal doesn’t

That’s not a matchup like it’s a matchup where in the first half he was driving by them every single time getting into the paint and then in the fourth he just kind of killed him with his jumper here’s the I’ve been saying this the entire time and I feel like the entire

NBA universe is told me I’m an idiot but I don’t remember a lot of pick and roll with Giannis and Dame that was like particularly effective everyone said that that was an Unstoppable pick and roll that it was Damon Brook Lopez it was Damon Brook Lopez that was more

Effective because Brook Lopez can shoot the ball like that pick and roll I will say has been very good this year but you’re right tonight it didn’t feel like a huge Factor it didn’t it wasn’t a factor in any way shape or form like unless dve Murray dve

Murray unless Dame Lillard is giving you 30 points matching uh Jamal Murray’s output he’s an absolute minus to this team yeah he also oh go ahead you got it he also played hard all around maybe my favorite Murray play tonight was um you know deor kind of mucks up a good look

In sequence and and Milwaukee has a fast break and they throw the full court Outlet pass and it looks like it’s going to be wide open it’s not a great pass but Murray busts his ass and he steals it right back yep and it just that was kind of a

Maybe against the Wizards he doesn’t make that play but tonight he was making those plays yeah but that that’s where the frustration comes and that’s why you know on nights that he’s not close to this or given that same type of effort that you could get down on him because

You see these type of games you’re like he can do this often he can do this all the time and if he could lock in and have these type of games on a more consistent basis like think about how easy it would be for Denver yeah um he

Has these type of reminder games that just is like Hey we’re going to have to hold him to a higher standard because he is capable of replicating this time and time again and he gives it to us we just want it a little bit more we get greedy

With it of course but he’s just that type of player so you just want him to build off of this where the consistency is the big thing like that was a really a monster Jamal game we don’t expect monster games every time but you want it

Closer to these type of games yeah and he did it tonight 35 points while hitting 03s 02 from three 13 of 22 from the floor 9 of 10 from the foul line but yeah Dev like to your point when Murray plays like this the Nuggets don’t lose

Thing that like it does not get talked about enough to start the fourth before he takes his break he tries to get the other team like in foul trouble he just is like super aggressive and he’s like in a way flopping he just wants to get

Defense in particular just saying he’s so disciplined in terms of staying down when he’s supposed to he had a foul late in the game if you recall where they were in the bonus it was a really dumb foul but you got to appreciate Michael Malone when he was asked about it he

Said yeah but what a great teaching moment for him now of course if they would have lost the game he probably had a different response but he was so positive about pton Watson in the uh post game just talking about him and then even Christian Brown he me he

Shouted him out today and said he had great energy tonight six rebounds and he made a bunch of winning plays and I kind of agree it was one of my storylines watching it he didn’t play a ton of minutes but when he did it kind of looked like the old Christian at least
