He said as much during his goodbye letter didn’t he?

If he wanted to sign here as a FA on a minimum, I’d be down. But by the time that comes, we’ll hopefully be contending and I really don’t know if a 6’1” aging non defensive guard is going to be able to not be a detriment to our success. Definitely wouldn’t want to give up any assets or cap space for him.

And I say that as a dame truther.

I miss him but have lots of faith in our young core. Win win for both parties

He’s going to be like 37 by the time his contact expires. If that’s the case, I mean maybe he comes at a vet minimum and retires. He’s probably not going to be much of a productive player by then though and odds are more of a liability then anything else, but could have a decent retirement tour. Id be fine with using that roster spot elsewhere if we are competing by then though.

  5. I don’t think 1 days contracts to retire count

Am I crazy or is his face significantly puffier or different from last year? Maybe I’m crazy.

He could be a good back up for Scoot someday

I’d be fine with him coming back and spending his last season or 2 in Portland before he retires.

  9. This isn’t news. He even said so on his way out the door.

That said, I am saying this as a person who Dame is now dead to me. His Burch fit trying to force his way to Miami, and only Miami, ruined 10+ years of the “loyalty” brand he built. I would take him back on a vet min./ near vet min. to finish his career as the CP3 to Scoot/Shae’s Booker. Just hopefully actually winning the Finals and he gets his Portland ring.

I don’t think he’ll handle the dark times well.

  11. Don’t want him back. Never won a title What’s done is done.

I will happily accept vet min Dame back in 27-28. He’ll be what, 37/38, about the same age as Jason Kidd was when Dallas won that finals. It’s an Oakland tradition at this point, it’s more or less fate that it works out perfectly.

It hasn’t even been a full season yet lol
