Woj – “The Lakers have been active… I think Laker fans and players and the organization probably have to temper their expectations on this trade deadline… Their best bet might be to wait… There are so few difference makers available.”

Woj is usually wrong on the Lakers. So this is a good sign

Just fire Ham, if Lebron walks out next season we still have some assets.

Best thing to do is nothing tbh besides firing the coach. I like this squad. I like to believe this team can get back to the wcf if we had someone conpetent running the team.

Darvin for a few Wilson balls
GutsTheSwordsman
Dejounte + backup center + Ham getting canned.
+ Maybe Vincent comes back healthy soon.
Marktaco04
This was supposed to be the deepest team in the league. They dont need game changers they need a coach who will actually itilize their best players
Dicey12
MF we just want a new coach or owners enough of this trading assets every fucking year
OldSteelheader
We don’t need a trade, we need a replacement at HC. Yesterday.
DG_Now
The only move worth making is off Ham.
flowermoon24
are there any teams that made huge trades that included their 3rd or 4th best player that helped them win a chip that same season? Cause I always thought Feb up to May is so short to build chemistry and get to know each others play style, etc. Lakers 2023 all over again, trades then not enough time to build something, come up short eventually.

Sack Ham plz
treyfiddy
addition by subtraction – fire darvin SCAM
Old-Albatross-7684
C’mon, even if the Lakers get Steph Curry for a bag of peanuts, Ham will sit him down for Prince or Reddish for their defense.
tokyo_bee
Keep D’Lo, trade Ham for Murray.
Yellow_Evan
Just fire Ham because the players don’t trust him.
usctrojan18
The best addition is by subtracting Ham. The roster isn’t bad, just needs them in the right spots, with the right minutes

I just listened to a podcast and they mentioned something Jovan Buha said (went looking for it but likely behind a pay wall from The Athletic)….
He makes the argument the Lakers kind of have to trade Dlo because they have no contract control over him after the deadline. He has a player option for next year. (specially if they’re considering trading AR over Dlo)
If he plays bad the rest of the season, he’ll probably opt in and now Lakers have a bad contract. And it would be more difficult to trade; bad return.
He plays well, he opts out, and now Lakers are bidding with other teams for Dlo.
The host also proposed this trade:
-Lakers receive Murray
-Knicks receive Dlo (replacement for Quickley off the bench)
-Hawks receive Christie, Fournier, Lakers 1st, Lakers pick swap, two 2nd rounders from Knicks.
Who says no?
EvilGeniusGL
None of this matters AT ALL with Jeanie/Rob/Darvin at the helm.
I know it’s fun to speculate and talk trades, but with all the absurdity at the top of this organization no moves will matter.
Also, for anybody wanting to end the LeBron era thinking a purge of the current team will actually lead to a bright future with happiness and progress you’re f’n kidding yourselves for the same reason trades won’t make a difference – look at who’s running this place.

Im not kidding when I say if coach trades were possible the NBA would be so much more interesting
SignificantStorm412
No problem with no trades but please pleae fire ham…
niknokseyer
He may not have much intel from the Lakers but he’s not wrong though.

Not saying that a deal needs to be done (I think canning Ham would be enough of a spark to get the current roster doing something), but this was an often heard refrain last year. Where the deadline deal propelled the team from below 500 to the WCF.
thebraavosi1
Ham is the problem not the players
Ham would probably start Prince over Steph curry
donta5k0kay
Doesn’t matter if the people in charge disagree. Lebron will be gone before Ham, mark my words.

Fire Ham. Get a COMPETENT center to play next to AD.

Murray + DFS & Ham fired would be a miracle
