Yes of course. This would be a no brainer and SAC wouldn’t do this. Barnes is a veteran role player who can shoot, switch, and defend who has a lot of playoff experience. He has been a contributor to championship teams in the past and has been a part of really good teams recently. A guy like that would help us a lot.

JI has only played in like 20% of our games this year, which is about a 1 Million percent increase over how much he usually plays. This is a no brainer.

Rather see if Isaac can play 20 MPG or cut him vs an aging Barnes

  4. Doesn’t make sense to me. We need offense but this isn’t a huge upgrade while losing our best (though always injured) defender.

It really depends, despite how staunchly some people here claim it’s an instant no.

On one hand, Barnes is older, can’t really be counted on much defensively, is highly probably going to regress from now on and has never really brought much success to the teams he was part of since his GSW days.

On another, he is more experienced, can be (for the most part) relied on as far as availability goes (82/82 games last year, generally relatively healthy), has been a positive shooter throughout his career (career 37.9%, only one season in last 6 with below 38%) and would help fixing one of the more dire immediate needs of the team.

The answer is largely whether you believe the floor of Barnes is worth more than the eventual potential ceiling of a healthy Isaac, which honestly the FO has invested so much time and effort into rehabbing Jonathan to where he is now that I have a hard time seeing them give up on it.

Personally I don’t think it would happen but there are more ludicrous offers thrown around team subs than this.

I don’t understand the outright ‘no’ responses.

I am not saying I would but I may think about it. I think the only question that matters is do you think Harrison Barnes will justify his remaining contract or do you think we would be better off not spending that money.

  8. For what reason?

You’re going to downvote me for asking why?
