16 from the field I mean hey you’re just not going to win on a lot of nights where that happens regardless but I I I everything we talked about yesterday chance to get to 10 games over chance to make it five wins in a row and really
Put that losing streak behind you and really get a chance to actually get momentum going into February where it’s like okay now February March and then you know the first week and a half of April that’s like crunch time now like now you’re jockeying for seaing now
You’re doing all this and we we’ve discussed this a million times as they’ve dropped these games that that they probably shouldn’t we’ve talked about it like dude there’s seating at stake that five six seven8 in the west is pretty jumbled and you know last night like I
Said I’m gonna I’m gonna give them a pass I’m not going to make this a referendum on on their mindset as a team or whatever you know things happen in the NBA but it’s it it’s disa in I think because it looked early on like they
Were just going to get smoked they were down what was it 15 in the second quarter and the heat went on this huge run and it’s just like okay here it is yeah the kings are gonna the heat Are Gonna Roll them chalk it up whatever but
Then they battled back and it was just there it was like there for them and they just didn’t make enough plays and regardless of what the rest of the season looks like that that’s frustrating and I think that starts to me with number five yeah no I mean
Everybody has to be better but at at a certain point you need your leader to to to take like the Reigns and I watch Deon stonis have a really really frustrating start to the game where he could not hit a shot at all it’s like somebody put a
Lid on the basket or forgot to take a lid off the basket uh to start the game but then he kept battling and you know you finish your your Star Center finishes with 19 points and 13 assists and 17 rebounds you should win that game MH like he outplayed he outplayed his
His competition and sure bam is a good player and and Bam had a solid night the better Center showed up we talked about that yesterday who’s going to show up which of the centers well sabona showed up man but he played well he needs more
People to show up and and I think right now we’re in a phase of the Season where we have certain games where you’re waiting for five six guys to show up you’re getting one or two to start the game and they’re dragging the team along or they’re they’re at least keeping the
Team in the in the game and they they’re waiting for someone else to figure it out yeah and in this game no one else stepped up and figured it out tough yeah I mean Keegan murru was really good yeah take 33 points from Keegan Murray but we’ll talk about that

That I I think longterm bodess well for for Sacramento yep number three uh slow start big finish uh deont sabonis was not great early in the game he missed a whole bunch of shots he finishes with 19 points 13 assists and 17 rebounds I think the I’ll point out the assists he
Had half of the Kings assists Kings finished with 26 assists and it’s really tough to to get 13 assist when your team shoots 44% from the field or 30% from three but sure enough I thought he was effective he was impactful and uh he needed other players to step up I also
Want to point out Finnish with zero personal fouls and to me that’s that’s pretty impressive for a guy that um is known as a foul guy around the league yeah yeah he was just I I was impressed by the way he went at BAM atab
Bio last night um and did not shy away from contact didn’t shy away from trying to get to the rim didn’t settle for you know little eight foot baby hooks or anything like that he was he was trying to do what he does offensively and still play to his strengths offensively and
Frankly that’s what I would like to see more of in those in those spots and in big spots from him yeah he also he hit another three and he he’s really worked on on becoming a much better three-point shooter so I’d also point out uh he did

Really care and you know like I think that that’s part of it like Fox is gonna get paid no matter what right he is he’s gonna get he’s gonna make a ton of money and that’s like one of the focuses for him has always been like look I want to
Set up my for the rest not only my family but like generational wealth which he’s establishing right now I mean he’s got his his under arour deal now he’s got uh he’s got a gigantic contract that it’s only going to get bigger yes but in order for him to maximize his

When two go down defenses change what they’re doing and he was a non-factor offensively for for the last couple of months up until recently and if he’s going to be even a little bit of a factor offensively that we talked about 12 13 14 points that’s tremendously

Deen Fox performance and I don’t know I don’t I don’t know him so I don’t know what’s going on but it’s a it’s a disconcerting trend of him just not not playing well yeah I mean I think everyone is allowed lows in the season you know the highs and lows especially
When a player comes out and was playing so well early on yeah so you’re always going to have these highs and lows right but it can’t be so dramatic and you have to understand like who you are to this team mhm you’re the guy who you’re the
Straw that stirs the drink like you’re the guy who has to get everything going and if you’re not if you’re not getting the ball like after made basket if you’re not waiting right there and running the ball up the court it’s noticeable you know like I um you know
Watching you know there there are players who who stand out right the problem is when you stand out you don’t just stand out when you’re doing good you stand out when you’re not doing good no doubt and and that’s a problem and so like I hope that he he’s able to figure
Out you know again getting through the the ups and downs of the season but he’s kind of been erratic over the last like maybe three or four weeks and he’s had some really good games but also some games like this where you’re like okay
Look man you you can’t get to 27 a game by by scoring 43 and scoring 16 that that’s that’s not how like on back-to-back nights like that’s the team needs you to to be more consistent with this and I thought early in the season he was incredibly consistent
And was waiting for his teammates to come along with him and you know maybe that’s what this is is maybe it’s maybe he’s at the point where he’s like yeah hit me hit me up in April yeah like I’ll be there he did did his thing at the
Beginning at the in the in the first part of the year and now it’s like you said it’s just a lull and then come playoff time the switch will flip I I would buy that okay just given given what we know about him as a player but
It is like I said it is a little bit disconcerting that it it feels like six seven eight times this year it’s just look like and didn’t is this where he wants to be right now yeah I mean 13 points in a game that’s not what the
Kings needed at all they needed the guy who like had to put back Jam when he was a rookie and won a game um let’s see what else we got lost to a lost to a team that had that had lost seven in a row yeah I I I struggle with this though
Because I don’t think they’re a bad team I think that they’re a team that went through a tough stretch and that tough stretch was going to end whether it was against Sacramento or it was against Washington the next game they’re going to win um so um sometimes that happens

Possession and that to me that moment was a was the example or told the story of I thought how the Sacramento Kings approached that game with the exception of damont sabonis who put up big numbers as he usually does and fought hard and battled hard and sabonis said it best
After the game the way the Kings performed was unacceptable and that’s how I felt the mistakes that the kings were making the flashiness the arrogance of which they played with how disconnected they were how lazy they were with passes the self-inflicted wounds that they suffered in that game
To me was completely unacceptable and I thought back to how the most pissed off we saw Mike Brown last season was when after the New York Knicks Victory when he watched the Kings play and he took the podium after that game we were all happy because the
Kings just beat the Knicks on National Television in Sacramento we’re like this is awesome he takes the podium and basically says that wasn’t good enough that’s not okay that is not gonna fly that’s how I felt about the other night like just the way the Sacramento Kings
Played it had nothing to do with Memphis and everything to do with the Kings I just felt that even though they got the Victory and good on them for doing that that’s what good teams do they found a way to win that game but throughout that game I didn’t think they took it
Seriously enough and they just continued to make self-inflicted mistakes after mistakes after mistakes and I just thought it was unacceptable from that team and we should hold that team to a higher standard then well they got the win we can forget everything else it happens that’s that’s just my thought
Those things happen and I I’m not even saying anything you’re saying is wrong man like yeah you you you would want to see them play better than what they did in Memphis but um you know it’s not a video game these These are human beings sometimes you
Have nights where you’re just not there mentally um yes but that’s happened a lot this season though that’s the problem we’ve been questioning that about this team a lot this season and it’s not getting better maybe the blowout losses are getting better but the mental mistakes have been a

On the floor and beat these guys see I hate that I hate that and because that when DM green said that and mentioned the Sacramento Kings is one of the teams that that that are tough to get up for a handful of seasons ago we were all
Outraged and we hated that idea we hated that mindset plus it pissed us off that he called out the Sacramento Kings as one of those team also Draymond sorry who you to talk about getting up for somebody yeah exactly like I don’t think one if the Sacramento Kings are thinking
And feeling that way I understand their human beings Kenny and understand it’s you probably are more excited to play a divisional game against the Warriors or than you are a Monday night against the Memphis Grizzly that are short-handed I get the human nature of that but I expect this team more importantly I
Expect that coaching staff to be able to correct that and overcome that and and and to me that the Kings have not earned the right to have that mindset they have not they’ve been a oneye playoff team and a first round playoff exit they have not earned the right to not take someone
Or not get up to play somebody that to me is not a valid excuse that’s a dismissal that’s brushing something under the rung rug that is a problem do I think the Kings aren’t going to get up to play a playoff game when it all said
And done no it’s it’s really a moot point at that at that moment but I look at every opportunity during this regular season that the Kings can take to improve and put themselves in the position to maximize what they can do and put themselves make as deep of a
Playoff run as possible and trying to build these Championship tendencies that Mike Brown has talked a lot about that is completely counterproductive the I I didn’t I couldn’t get up to play the Memphis Grizzlies on a Monday night because I just wasn’t feeling it that’s well that two things number one the
Thunder lost to the Pistons like two days ago and so like these things and they haven’t won a damn thing right regardless of how good people so these things happen and number two the thing I’m saying is not necessarily like ah we don’t care about this game it’s just there’s it’s weird

Here in a second because Keegan had a sensational first half was the only player Kevin herder scored I think 11 of his 14 points in the first half so Kevin had a good start to this game too Keegan was the only person with a pulse offensively for Sacramento for
Most of that game he’s the only reason why the Kings weren’t down 20 to 30 in that first half scores 21 points in the first half finishes with 33 with six of those points scored in the final like two minutes of the game off of back-to-back three-pointers when the
Kings were trying to make a run there at the end I think I noted like early in the fourth quarter Keegan had only taken like five or six shots in the second half after shooting like 11 of four 14 in the first half this is not the first
Time this has happened the most prominent time was game five of the playoffs when Keegan scored like 12 or 14 points in the first quarter and barely touched the ball for the rest of the game and it’s happened two or three times this season where Keegan is the
Hot hand and the Kings whether they’re trying to get everybody else involved or not they go away from him I think it’s partially on Keegan to say give me the freaking ball I’m the only one scoring right now I think it’s also on dearn Fox and deont sabonis and Mike Brown to go
Let’s drop some sets and get this man open I do not understand now also credit to the heat defensively the heat made good defensive adjustments but I think this speaks to a larger problem guys and this is what wiy and I discovered today M uh dearen fox has
25 games this season where he has taken 20 or more field goal attempts right and that makes complete sense Fox is the guy he’s gonna shoot more often than not he is the absolute offensive engine of this king’s team at least scoring wise makes complete sense the next closest guy is a
Four-way tie between sabonis Keegan Barnes and monk with two each the kings are so reliant on dearen Fox and the volume of shots that he takes that offensively if he’s having nights like he does last night even if the kings are playing good defense they they struggle
To win basketball games because there is no excuse for not getting Keegan Murray 20 shots last night there is no excuse for not getting sabonis 20 shots on a night where he’s feasting in the paint or not getting Malik monk 20 shots on a night where he’s he’s getting going I
Think this speaks to maybe a bigger problem with Sacramento’s offense we know how prolific they can be and they love to share the basketball and I love that but when you have a hot hand that’s not just dearon Fox feed that hot hand and I don’t think Sacramento takes
Enough advantage of that when they’re having a Keegan Murray game like they did last night yeah I think one of the issues W with the Kings is and we talked about it earlier dam is they just don’t have uh enough guys that can create their own shot you know and that’s in situations
Like that where you still should be able to find a way to get two more shots for Keegan Murray I’m not disputing that but situations like that Keegan a lot of the times seem seem so reliant on the offense or the aggressiveness of fox and people drawing and kicking and things of
That nature where they need Keegan or somebody else to be able to just give him the ball at the top of the key or give it to him on the wing and you go create get your own shot off the bounce and that’s that’s what this team is
Lacking if Daren fox or and most times or if Malik monk aren’t the ones doing it they don’t really have another guy who can do that no I agree I agree completely and that’s an area of of Keegan’s game that still needs to get better as his ability as an ISO scorer
That being said when Harrison was hot the other night in Golden State I mean back-to-back 30o games and and I love what Harrison did and DLo you said something earlier that I 100% agree with I would much rather take a night like last night where Harrison is two or
Three of 11 or 12 like he was than one of two or two of three or three of four I or whoever said that I think it was DLo who said that or I said it I was I wasting Casey yeah either way I love you’re 100 per right because at least
Harrison is involved and also Harrison I think grabbed like five or six rebounds last night when Harrison is involved shooting getting some touches and shooting the basketball he does more on other ends of the floor you can say the same thing about Kevin herder I love
That the Kings share the ball as much as they do but when Harrison was hot in that that Golden State Warriors game they gave they they made every opportunity to get him the basketball they went three straight possessions of Harrison in the post the same spot on
The floor in the fourth quarter and he scored two out of those three times they went to him three straight times they emphasize get him the ball because he is hot with the exception of when Keegan was raining down threes in the golden one Center and putting up almost 50
Points points like that is the only time that I’ve seen the kings that I can remember off the top of my head see the Kings go Keegan is hot get him the ball every time down the floor I just think they go away from it a little bit too
Much with Keegan and even when Kevin herder has been hot and going back to last season when Kevin herder was having his moments and having his games it was a dho every other time up the floor for him why aren’t you doing the same thing with Keegan in that second half it’s
