On X: @AnthonyIrwinLA on the LeBron James rumor that is floating around: “I am being told definitively by my sources that there is zero chance that LeBron James gets traded”

I know Irwin isn’t the arbiter of truth (though he’s been more on point this season) and Pingalore has gotten a lot right historically; but it’s weird to have such wildly different reports so close together.

There are so many logistical and optics hurdles that it wasn’t likely to begin with

  2. Extension_Pay_4914

Ofc he’s not getting traded. He’s requesting it.

  3. slicknick2k

Obviously believing a guy with 9k followers was already suspicious lol

Irwin has literally no sources—he should honestly be banned as a source on this sub. But yeah LeBron isn’t getting traded

  5. Yommination

I wonder if he told them dump Hamas and make some trades or I want out

The weird thing is Pingalore stated his report as if the Lakers were determined to find a trade partner for LeBron. Versus LeBron wanting out. I read that as the Lakers got the sense that Bron will not opt in this summer and are motivated to move him instead of losing him for nothing.

Either way, this feels like a non story that can wait until the offseason. Can’t wait for the deadline to be over.

Great, Irwin just jinxed this shit. Now it’s going to happen.

That KTLA reporter actually has a pretty good track record. I honestly don’t think Irwin has any sources lmfao.

Watching you guys get soaked up over these two losers has been almost as entertaining as the game today.

Only way Lebron gets traded is if he requested it. The Lakers are not going to trade away Lebron if he don’t want it.

My theory is a sportsbook paid Pingalore to post that bullshit, Vegas made a lot of money on everyone thinking Boston would win. The line was -15.5 when I last checked. Idk what kind of source is “nba peeps” but it’s lame to be so vague about something so serious

Funny, the calottery ad that I see on this page also applies to these reporters on X spreading rumors:

“These aren’t scientifically proven, but they’re at least as reliable as a horoscope.” Meaning not at all

    It actually makes sense.

Jeanie is a business woman and LeBron sells tons of jerseys. From her perspective I guess she would trade LeBron only for Curry or Tatum.

Irwin quotes/tweets are being posted way too much now.

  14. xenoz2020

Somebody wanted to know what the reaction would be.

Anyone with common sense can see that this was never going to happen. Trading arguably one of the GOATs will be a PR and historical disaster for the organization.

The Lakers is the ONLY franchise in the NBA to consistently attract Hall of Fame level superstars either through free agency or forced trades. Trading a legend isn’t worth losing that ability, even if it saves a few rebuilding years.

4 games back of 5th place. Need to just go on a run and will firmly be entrenched in the playoffs. I don’t get trading him

  18. Hour_Insurance_7795

On the surface, there’s a lot of sense to be made by trading LeBron (I know, I know….go ahead and downvote me Stans).

But there’s just no way it could really happen.

  19. Rentfreelakerfan

lol y’all needed Irwin to confirm that for you

  20. Kira_txt

You dont drop the ace in the hole. I call publicity stunt. There’s something else going on that needed covering up

  21. The Lakers aren’t going to trade their star player. It’s not what the Lakers do. They did trade Shaq, but that’s because they had Kobe, and couldn’t keep both. But the Lakers just don’t trade their star players like that. They got LeBron so that he breaks records in a Lakers jersey, and retires in a Lakers jersey. The Lakers want to show other stars that this is how they treat their superstars. There is zero changes, and has always been zero chance they trade LeBron, unless he requested it.

  22. ProfessorTicklebutts

Oh but r/nba told me it was a no brainer to trade both Lebron and AD.

Greaaaat. Back to mediocre defense on Saturday. Can’t wait for people to bash on our role guys why they can’t defend 4v5

Getting Vogell fired for WB and then getting LeBron traded for Ham is like getting burned on touching a hot pot and then proceed to jump into a volcano
