Problem is that the NBA just has too many games. An sport with an injury risk like basketball is not meant to be played 2-3 times a week. This is why star players need the load management. Cutting down the nr of games means less money but the product will be much better since every game is worth more and will be played harder with all stars available and going 100%
He is the more dominant player until he faces Gianis or Jokic when healthy.

I think the rule is fair. 65 / 82 thats about 80% of the game. Good teams have a winning record of 70%. So to be part of the best regular season teams you have to play that many games. If the team is winning when you rest 20 Games then maybe you arent the most valueble player in the nba. The thing in the nba mvp discution that should matter is how many games did a player win when he is playing.

A slight disservice not noting the schedule the NBA had set up the Spurs with, when they sent the guys home and skipping a Heat game. It was the 4th game, in 5 nights, on the road. Pacers Nov 23rd, Raptors 25th, Wizards 26th, Magic 28th, and the Heat on the 29th. Spurs backups had a lead at the 22 second mark of the 4th. So it wasn't like there wasn't still a good game. But Yes it was a clear middle finger from Pop and Spurs Org to the NBA and it's schedule makers.
We all know how Stern set up the Knicks with Ewing. It's very clear he pushed big market over small market teams, not the "best team". And he wanted anyone else from the west dominating than the Spurs, more so after they got their Chip in 99. They got one, now people can stop complaining. But people discredit it because of the lock out short season. So them (Spurs) knocking out the Lakers was bad for the NBA pocket. So setting up the Spurs with more crappy schedule, for more loses, for lower playoff seating was always in the rumors circles and sports talk radio in SA and Texas in general.
Viewership numbers have been going down for years. That 100% factored into the decision for the 65 game rule. No point in watching over half the games if noone good plays.

I feel like he could have prevented his injury if he braced himself. In the clip you can see he has his leg bent up and arms down staring at the two guys above him and had time to brace for impact, but he throws his arms behind his head like a flop and then the guy crashed down on his bent knee. When he could have straighten it for impact or tighten his body lol.
As for Embiid, Nick Nurse said that the injury is not at all related to the knee problem he had in the previous game, so no one should be blamed for this injury
