Wolves Fastbreak: Turnovers, bad shot selection haunts Minnesota in loss to Magic
Welcome in at Target Center for this Timberwolves fast break Rebecca Brunson Katie storm with you a tough loss tonight for Minnesota just their fifth loss on their home court this season they had a 17-point lead and that dwindles away down the stretch the magic a well balanced attack all five of their
Starters in double digits it really started when uh Magic came out of the half they really had came out with a lot of energy and intensity and the will to come out here and win this game and you saw that the way that they played sharing the basketball all of their
Starters being involved and came down to down the stretch where they were able to take take advantage of and capitalize off of the Timberwolves bad offense the Wolves did not share the basketball in the fourth quarter it got really stagnant and sticky which allowed Orlando to just play with pace and get
Good and solid looks you know the Orlando Magic outpaced um the Timberwolves on fast break point 17-7 they got to the free throw line and and they shared the basketball so overall a great performance from the Orlando Magic starting unit yeah they got to the free throw line plenty the Orlando Magic did
Tonight going 21 for 26 and 15 of those 21 makes from the charity stripe came in the final quarter the Wolves not able to execute in the fourth tonight shooting 25% and going five for 20 from the floor Chris Finch talked about that after this game tonight summarizing this game
Saying the overall execution was just poor shot selection was poor for the most part uh just overall execution was poor uh just struggled to get into our sets they did a good job with their physicality their ball pressure and we didn’t really do a good job of battling
Back on that front um and then uh you know it led to uh transition buckets right and kind of crummy defense after that so not for opportunity for Minnesota to bounce back coming up on Sunday their final game of this home stand they’ll be taking on Alper and
Shenon and the Houston Rockets for the second time this season their last meeting in early January in Houston they won by 27 points so we’ll see what happens there in that rematch we uh have wolves live starting for you at 5:30 p.m. thanks for joining us here on this Timberwolves fast Break
