The Knicks Are Starting To Get A Bit OVERRATED… | YTNM
So a fresh new week has arrived and here on this channel that means one thing and one thing only every weekend I post an episode of this series we do called your take not mine where I Turn to You the viewers to give me your hottest NBA
Takes of the week based on what’s going on at the time and I then choose my favorite submissions and discussed them in a video this week was a roller coaster of emotions in the NBA world as we saw some incredibly unfortunate injury news and even more trade rumors
Have begun to swirl with the trade deadline just a few few days away so we definitely have plenty to discuss in order to submit your takes I make a community post on either the day of or the day before the video similar to the one that you see on your screen now so
If you want a chance to be featured in a future episode be sure to stay on the lookout for that before we start though I want to thank prize pick for sponsoring today’s video prize pick is a skill-based real money daily fantasy sports game where you select two to six
Players and guess if they will hit more or less than their projection and if you get it right you win plus with their new demons and goblins lines you can now win up to 100 times your original entry obviously we’re all basketball fans here but prize pick has almost every sport
You can think of available to choose from and play to add to the fun they also offer frequent bonuses discounts and weekly promotions such as Taco Tuesday and flex Friday plus so many more specialty free spaces to watch for throughout the year so you don’t want to
Miss those I personally will be playing the Patrick Mahomes free space for the Super Bowl where he needs to throw for just one yard plus Buon bogdanovich to score over 17 1 12 points and Jaylen Brown to score over 18 1 12 points for this week’s entry to sign up go down to
The link in the description and use promo code reference when you sign up to get a deposit match bonus of up to $100 once again thank you to prize picks for sponsoring the video now let’s get back to the topic at hand the first take we’ll be discussing today comes to us
From Louie and he says that the Lakers are about to do the same exact thing as they did last year where they completely turn things around after the trade deadline and in the end it’s still going to be them and Denver battling it out in the west well this is definitely a take
That is pretty clearly writing off most of the Western Conference as weak and fraudulent because the Lakers have looked as mediocre as it gets this year currently sitting in ninth place in the west standings there really hasn’t been a whole lot to inspire faith of a run
Back to the Conference Finals for this group as they still need to worry about making the playoffs in the first place but as the original take States they’re no stranger to these circumstances last year at this time in the season the Lakers were in 13th Place in the west
Standings looking dead in the water but after a few big moves they rejuvenated their season and made the run that everyone expected of them they’re obviously capable of competing with any team on any given night the alarming issue is is that they have most of the same core from last year’s team post
Deadline still here and they haven’t maintained the level that they were playing at at that point last year making it seem like the lightning in a bottle that they caught has been lost the trade market this year isn’t lacking in big names being potentially available but the question of whether they would
Be enough to sway the season is a serious question Deonte Murray is the player most heavily linked with the Lakers and while he would be an upgrade at the point guard position but over D’Angelo Russell objectively I’m not sure the Lakers present a different situation for Murray than the Hawks do
In terms of how he’d be used the issue for Atlanta is that Trey young is such a high-usage player so deon’s presence isn’t quite the game changer they thought it would be and in La LeBron is still a high usage guy Anthony Davis is still their go-to scoring option and
That moves deante even further down the totem pole and realistically the Lakers need all the shooting that they can get because their spacing is pretty poor right now so moving D’Angelo Russell who is the team’s best shooter right now for Murray only creates more spacing issues
I’m going to be honest with you I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lakers somehow figured it out because any team with LeBron James is capable of doing so I just personally don’t see it happening this year then when it comes to the postseason it’s fair to question the unproven groups like the Timberwolves
And the Thunder at the top but barring injuries the Clippers have an AB absolutely loaded team the nuggets are not going anywhere and the suns are back healthy playing good basketball lately so there is a tougher Road this year than there was last year too the next
Take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from short Bala and he says that the Knicks are actually overrated despite their hot streak because they beat up on all the losing teams but still have a losing record against the teams with winning records we’re getting to the
Point in the season where fans and analysts alike are really starting to hone in on which teams can legitimately compete compete for a championship and which teams are only good enough to make the playoffs but not actually make any noise once they get there for years the
Knicks have been stuck in the lad of those two groups if they even did make the playoffs but something feels different about this year’s Knicks team the Knicks made a big trade for OG anobi at the end of December and since his debut with the team they’ve only lost
Three total times with a record of 15 and3 since Anin noi’s trade the team moved up to fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings just a half game back of the Cavaliers for third and only one and a half games back of the bucks for the two seed so with a lot of
Basketball left to be played they very well could finish top two in the conference and secure homecourt Advantage until the Conference Finals when the anobi trade went down there was some hesitations over the price that they paid for him because it did seem like a lot to give up for someone
Expected to hit free agency this summer but assuming they get a contract extension worked out the pairing has been a match made in in heaven going back to the original take though nitpicking over their record against winning teams versus losing teams seems pretty dumb all things considered
Because pretty much every single team in the league has a worse record against better competition than they do against the teams at the bottom of the standings however I will say that it is worth acknowledging that the matchups that heavily weigh down the Knicks record against those winning teams are the
Matchups against the Celtics and the Bucks who are a combined 6 and one against the Knicks this year and obviously those are the two teams most likely to stand in their way in the Eastern Conference so while I think it’s a bit much to call them overrated I’m
Not sure if I can place my trust in them to eliminate either of those two contenders quite yet and finally the last take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from happy boy and he says that the new rule requiring players to play 65 games in order to win Awards
Should not have been made because voters already took those things into consideration amongst other reasons I chose this take to discuss because I think it nearly Nails it on the head entirely we’re already seeing the ramifications of an arbitrary games played limit set on winning Awards and
It’s only going to get worse the league tried going this route in order to prevent players from taking as many rest days throughout the season but not only has it not stopped players from resting on occasion but it’s also incentivized injured players to put their health on
The line and risk it in order to make the cut you all may think that winning Awards and being being named to things like the all NBA team and the all defense team don’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things but when it comes time for players and their
Representation to negotiate their next contracts those things literally affect the amount of money that players can demand in those negotiations suffering an injury that causes you to miss more than 17 games in a season can mess with their money in a big way which results in them trying to play through those
Injuries suffering through the pain which then opens them up to the greater likelihood of of reinjuring themselves and we literally just watched exactly this happen to MVP favorite at the time Joel embiid embiid’s been nursing a swollen knee for a few weeks now and when he was a late scratch from their
Game against the Denver Nuggets the entire basketball World ridiculed him relentlessly so he then tried to play through the pain a few days later against the Warriors which resulted in him reinjuring his knee and is now likely out for a long time voters already took into account how much a
Player’s production and impact came into play on the year even with the amount of games that they missed so setting a line at 65 will only cause more bad than good and with that being said that’s all I have for you today make sure to like the video subscribe to the channel and

Brunson should legit be an all star starter
Hot Take
NBA, Media, and even content creators suck at pushing players
1.)DMitch with 2 key starters have had
the Cavs at the 3 seed and no one has said a word about it he should easily be a top MVP candidate
2.) Fox after an amazing Playoff preformance last year has drastically improved his 3pt shot and has been playing just as good as a guy like SGA or Hali
3.) Paolo Banchero literally the number 1 pick from last year has the Magic in playoffs and been without a lot of key players also has had a grand total of ZERO national TV games
Wrong
Bro I'm sorry but if someone really is hatin on the Knicks for being dogs who lock up on D and get tough buckets they DONT LUKE BASKETBALL!!!
Embiid wasn’t getting criticism for missing games due to injury, he got criticism bc instead of resting and making sure he was 100% for the playoffs he decided to pick and choose matchups to rest for so he could still be in the running for MVP
If you can't stay healthy while playing basketball then you should not be the NBA MVP
It’s funny how the Knicks lose 1 game down 4 big contributors and all of the sudden the sky is falling lmao!
I felt like 65 limit is fair. Like yes injuries suck but are we going start handing out mvps to players playing less than 50-55 games ? Never been done before so why baby the players for bad luck
The 65 games wasnt the issue, with embiid getting injured. Kuminga landed embiids leg, and that hurt him.
I went from a huge nba fan to not watching a single game this year! Take this woke watered down product to someone else! Many of us just have no interest anymore! When a college girls game gets more views than the main nba games Houston we have a problem! Super teams, cry baby floppers, politics from guys that can’t hardly read, no defense, mediocre players scoring 50 + like it’s nothing, horrible biased refs, and the face of the nba being the most hated athlete in sports, Lebron Jammmmeeesss! It has become a complete joke! I don’t know if I can ever watch again
Yo Hoops Reference a lot of faceless channels on youtube have been getting all their stuff demonitised recently for "re-used material", might be time for a face reveal or you could lose your revenue
Steph curry is somehow the most underrated and overrated player in the league at the same time
All 7 of our games against the Bucks and Celtics this season were pre OG trade though? so the 1-6 record in those games in kinda irrelevant since we aren't the same team now as we were for those games
Your take on the 65 games threshold is wrong for multiple reasons. First thing Joel embiid was not hurt because he was trying to play through injury he was hurt because a very large man landed on his leg. Also the limit has worked because for the first time in a long time we have kawhi Leonard playing almost every game along with PG and a lot of the other superstars in the league so it's working. Also this was agreed upon in the bargaining between the players and owners and the league so that means that the players signed off on this. This wasn't something thought up by the owners it was a mutual deal. It means that if some kid saves up his money to go see a basketball game he might actually get to see the star that he wanted to see. Sorry but I think your take sux
no og and randle is pretty massive. dumb take
Knicks lose 1 game without an all nba player 3x all star , an all defensive team player, offensive rebounding leading center, and a young two way player by only 6 points and stupid takes like “they only win against bad teams” start popping up 😂. Never mind that after the trade they spanked top teams by almost 20 every game. Hop off weirdos
Ur triping they got 2 players out trash video
That take for the lakers without mentioning how they let the league in free throws last season and how they do it now with more than 233 than any team and also while being dead last in drives to the basket. Wake up guys
Since I last checked, Embiid played 66+ games a season only 2ce in his career. I guess he was eligible last season. I guess we won't be this season. That's it.
The Knicks lose one game without 3 starters and a key bench player and we’re overrated yeah ok
The 65 game rule is necessary. Unfortunately. The players largely did this to themselves.
Knicks fans angry in the comments but he’s right. Yall are setting Brunson up for failure with unrealistic expectations. And then you’ll turn on him just like you did Melo and Julius Randle
If you think the games played is a bad idea look at how
Many stars are playing all their games this year vs last year. It’s a huge difference.
I think they are properly rated. Very solid team, with good offensive and defensive options. Of course there is a celing. They should advance at least to a second round, and then it's all about match ups. To be realistic, Celtics and Bucks are better teams, and no one should expect Knicks to beat them. But some matchups, like Cleveland or Pacers, definetly winnable.
The Knicks future is bright. They will be a defensive juggernaut next season (if healthy) with Robinson and OG leading the defensive charge.
Robinson, Randle, Anunoby, DiVincenzo/Hart, Brunson… is a nice starting five.
Jalen Brunson and Castoffs and Second Stringers win 9 Games in a row, including games against Philly, Denver, Heat, and Indiana, and now you've got them as being overrated. Wow!
When did The Vegas Bookmakers, predict they were gonna win it all?
The Knicks were just a hot team, with a hot player. And they deserved to be recognized for overachieving.
Bro they lost one game and have 5 injured players fuck sake make a good video on the Knicks first then a bad one YALL just looking for a way to hate fr
KNICKS SUCKS!!! PURE LOSERS!!!
There's no way voters already took missed games into account
I guess the question is does a player who plays less than 65 games deserve a season-long award over a guy who played the whole season in the first place? I get that the requirement is new for them to even be eligible. But if they're playing 60 games and someone else played 75 with similar stats they probably don't deserve the award anyway.
Great video (fuck sports betting with all my heart)
Hot Take – What Mike Malone did was horrible and he should be fined/disciplined. He publicly accused another grown man of faking his injuries, ducking the nuggets, and got the fans rallied behind him. This resulted in the NBA fining the 76ers and Embiid and threatening to continue doing so if he didn't play (over 20 mins). He played and now is likely out for the season and now Malone's player will likely win the award that Embiid had wrapped up. I hate the 76ers but this is straight up wrong.
The 65 games I think works. While playera might force themselves to play through injury, this should at least force them to think about the games that they could go H.A.M. or just cruise and boost the confidence of the other players in the team.
You could also be like Kobe and have that Mamba mentality. But, at the end of the day, the players are employees too. They will have bad days and good days. It's hard to consider giving "Employee of the year" to someone who only have half a year of excellence than an employee who have 9 mos of continued excellence. I say 9 mos because it takes a certain kind of character to go to a whole year of being exceptional. And the 3 mos are grace period for that, just like the 17 games players are allowed to miss.
Knicks go 9-0 then lose one game with three starters out. Now they are overrated? Sigh… people are really annoying.
So funny These NEW NEW York Knicks have beat Timberwolves, Sixers, Indiana and destroyed the Nuggets… So we are down 3 starters and early lose the rested Lakers and they are underrated- OK lmao
My take, Jordan Poole has cemented his legacy to be included in the GOAT conversation once he retires.
With the Knick take also, it’s important to note that those Bucks and Celtics losses were almost exclusively with the pre-OG version of the Knicks, which was playing FAR worse than the current version. They’re feasting on pretty much everybody in the league no matter the record when all 3 of Brunson, Randle, and OG are playing.
In regards to the 65 games played rule, NBA should keep it EXCEPT for a legitimate injury like with Embiid and Haliburton- Embiid isn't winning MVP either way, but at least he'd get some votes, and both could at least make all-NBA. The leage should just have a panel of neutral physicians then decide if the injury is legitimate or not so resting is discouraged. A broken bone or meniscus injury is pretty easy to confirm with MRIs, X-Rays, etc.
If players are bigger stronger faster than the past and have better medical advantages why do they need to sit so many games while healthy. Players sitting healthy messed with fans money and the nba money. I don't care that a player makes 34 million a year VS 28 million a year VS a fan making 30000 a year paying for a ticket and their favorite player not play while not hurt
Yes, but does Embiid need that ammo to get a better contract, no. He, like last year, wants to be a MVP above anything else
What happened to you bro? Are you just trolling now? Your videos just have turned into terrible takes
Knicks not overrated.. Milwaukee is slipping the 76ers not surviving Joel injury, the difficulty of the cavs upcoming schedule 2nd is ours even without randle for a few weeks JB got this !!!!
They lose out on money because they didn't go to work. As simple as that
Brunson is more than anyone could have asked for…guy is a winner in every way. All good until our stubborn mule of a coach runs him into the ground with 45 minutes a game. These guys will be running on fumes come playoff time. No wonder we can't attract free agents.
