For real, after all the doom and gloom about this being a lost season, Embiid is on track to return in 4-6 weeks after surgery. This confirms he got the removal surgery not the repair.Â
If we can just get Melton back, get some Ws to stay afloat, we should be ready to go come playoff time.Â

If it was the removal surgery idk how I feel about that. I would have rather him done the thing that provides long term health for both himself and the team.

Glad I’m not Morey. If you stay the course and don’t make any moves this team is going to free fall down into the play in, and in that case you might be better served letting Embiid fully recover. If you go try to add in hopes that he comes back and he doesn’t, was it worth using any draft capital. Another lost year, always something.

See ya just before the playoffs Joel! We will be the 6th seed at best and in the play in at worst.

Real question, is there any reason for Joel not to wear a brace?
Yes it will slow him down a bit but speed isn’t his game.

As much as I would love to see him come back this season and help us when a chip I want him to take care of his knee for the long term. All those knee injuries for a guy his size is going to add up. We need to learn how to win some without him.

If we RG3 the best athlete this city has ever seen just for a 2nd round exit it’ll be the last straw for me with this franchise. If he can’t play in 4 weeks then punt on the season. His health should come first.

Burn every asset available to bring in talent at the deadline!

The team is basically unwatchable. Hard to believe fans will show up in droves to home games to barely beat the Nets

Re-evaluated in 4 weeks. Anyone know when the deadline is for STHs to decide to opt-in for playoff tickets? My guess is that it will be before the re-evaluation.
**Edit:** I just checked from last year and the deadline for STHs to opt-in would appear to be 3/5.

Why is everyone dooming sooo much. I get this is not ideal and it totally sucks for embiid and the sixers. But it seems like this surgery has a recovery time table of 4-8 weeks. Lets say he’s cleared do to some activity after 4 weeks and ramp up. Maybe he’s back at week 6 or 7. That would be mid to late March. Gives him like 10-15 games to get back in shape. If he’s healthy, he’s healthy and should play. He could ironically be the healthiest he’s been for the playoffs in a while

Maybe it’s just me but I’m actually fucking scared that Embiid is rushing back without any regard for his long-term future.

While the sixers have a terrible track record and deserve zero benefit of the doubt so many people talk with some type of authority about what should be done. Just because you read a Twitter thread from some online doctor doesn’t make your dog shit opinion relevant lol. If anything it just adds more harmful narratives for when literally anything goes wrong (not a rare thing in these parts)

I think I read on here that the Lakers are protecting Davis by moving him to the 4. I don’t follow them to know if this is true. Do you think that’s a consideration for Jo for next year if we pick up a traditional center

I just don’t trust this organization anymore tbh lol. Feels like deja vu from a few years ago when they waited till after season ticket renewals to announce he’s out for the season.

The x factor seems to be the question from last week, how much is the team rushing him vs how much is he rushing himself — while the front office tries to keep him happy
