Evan Sidery: Kyle Kuzma, Malcolm Brogdon and Bojan Bogdanovic appear unlikely to be traded before Thursday deadline, per @wojespn

“The Wizards, Trail Blazers and Pistons are more likely to reassess their futures in the offseason.”

Can’t say I’m super thrilled about this news but I’ll continue to support the FO on a wait and see basis.

Ehh whatever. There probably weren’t many if any offers that interested Joe. I bet we see a lot more games of Brogdon out with “Sore Knees” with Scoot and Shaedon absorbing his minutes.

He’ll probably get moved in the summer when teams are more flexible. We’ll live.

  2. The market must be shit. Cronin definitely knows it’s in our best interest to trade him. If there something out there he’d take it.

No one knows anything other than Joe’s little notebook.

scoot gonna be coasting on a cool 18 minutes per game until may

I’m hoping this is a commentary on the return at this moment for Brog, or lack thereof, and a commitment to move him off season.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve really enjoyed watching him play. One of the few bright spots in this team this year. He just doesn’t fit long term.

I refuse to believe Cronin is this stupid.

I can’t believe we traded Jrue fucking Holiday for this guy lol

Wtf are we doing man. Gather all the assets you can, while value is highest. Its simple

I can’t say I understand the logic of not trading him but I don’t think it’s panic stations just yet. See what the market is saying in the summer maybe?

If he gets an extension however…

I’m surprised the Knicks don’t want Brogdon. He could be a great back up to Brunson and could probably play some minutes together. Give us there first and a 2nd in 2025 with some cap filler player and I’d be happy.

Cronin has adopted a wait and see approach after fielding poor offers from the rest of the league.

Good news for the people freaking out: Scoot and Shaedon’s development is not dependent on one season.

Yeah, it sucks that minutes are finite, but it currently appears our guards struggle to all stay healthy at the same time, anyways.

Honestly, if this means we don’t have a season from hell and instead can enjoy 25-30 wins, I’m fine with it.

    Booo.

Oh well. I like Brogdon’s vet presence in the locker room but damn he needs way less minutes lol.

Thing is I think Brogdon is just as good as Rozier who went for an unprotected Miami pick. Rozier counting stats are up but Brogdon better on defense and a more consistent 3 point shooter. I don’t get why we would keep someone that would probably be one of the most highly suited players this deadline. Just don’t see why this is the deadline to sit on our hands.

Honestly I’m cool with it. He wants to be here (after not being drafted here) and he seems to be an incredible source of veteran knowledge for Scoot and the young guys. I def want Scoot and Sharpe getting more minutes, but him staying def isn’t a bad thing IMO.

Everyone that’s all mad I urge you to read Highkin’s latest piece. Gives really great insight into why he might not get traded at the deadline. I’m feeling pretty confident how they’re approaching this rebuild.

Market has diluted. Philly have lost Embiid for a bit – maybe less motivation for them to go all in. Grizzlies are done.

But the magic should still be interested and so should the Knicks. Still believe a team will hand over a late 1st in this sorry draft. And that’ll be worth it imo.

  17. ReflectionGloomy8851

I don’t think there’s going to be much action this trade deadline. Like 8 teams own 75% of tradeable first round picks.

And if the only offers are an expiring contract and 2 2nd round picks for Brogdon I think he is more valuable to the team. I know it would make it harder for guard rotation minutes to be figured out but I don’t see that as such a big problem as others do.

  18. Handcuffed

This sucks so much. Not because trading Brogdon ASAP is necessary (I think all the people clamoring for 40 minutes/game for Scoot are silly) but because it gives some credence to the idea that Cronin + Jody want a “winning team” and will sacrifice assets for the chance at play-in games.

  19. WailmerFudge

If true, it makes sense why we keep seeing stories about them not wanting to move anyone. I think they were trying to lure some teams in, get decent value but not enough teams bid and called their bluff. They could still trade him during the draft or during the summer. Hopefully he’ll be worth more by then, or at least thrown in to make another contract coming back work.

  20. UNCFan2350

This makes very little sense. He’s not an expiring and he only has 1 year left after this. You’d think we’d want to get what we can now opposed to waiting and he possibly gets hurt.
