Not trying to question Carlisle and the coaching staff but is it really possible that this kid is SO raw that we can’t justify keeping him in the rotation? I know it’s been beaten to death but it just seems so weird – we drafted him 7th…
Edit: damn I guess I hit a sore spot with people here. I completely understand he’s not fully ready I was just kind of curious about the complete lack of playing time. Even games when we are woefully short on guys he doesn’t seem to get much of a leash.
Good! He isn’t getting enough time with our current rotation. Also he seems disinterested, out of position , and out of rhythm when he does play.
Can we just decide on something instead of going back and forth?
Get the man reps and he will be ready to go next season. It’s a process.
I also don’t think he’s disinterested, he just looks severely overwhelmed.
Every time he touches the ball he looks like he’s in a panic to figure out what to do with it which has either lead to some really bad, awkward passes or him just chucking up a contested 3ball because he can’t figure out what else to do.
I do think he cares though and is trying. The game will slow down for him in time. It’s clear despite his respective struggles that Shep was a 4 year player.
